"How are you sweet cheeks?" Jaehyun watched as the male holding ShinAe said with familiarity.

His eyes then diverted to ShinAe. She looked shocked and uncomfortable. She had her hand grasping the strap of her handbag. Even from the distance, Jaehyun could see how hard she was gripping the strap. Jaehyun strided up and removed Kai's arms from around ShinAe and she fell onto him. With her back resting against his chest, Jaehyun could feel her tremble against him.

"Hey, are you alright?" He leaned down and asked into her ear. Jaehyun placed a reassuring hand on top of her gripping hands - as a means to relax her. Jaehyun's voice snapped her out of her daze. She twisted her head to look at him and nodded. Feeling his hand on top of her's, ShinAe's hand loosened around the strap and her hand came down to her side.

"Aw, what's this sweet cheeks? Have you moved on? " Kai taunted after watching the interaction between Jaehyun and ShinAe. His tone was playful and it seemed like he pretended to care, but truthfully, Kai did care and the sight irked him.

Hearing his words, ShinAe jaw tightened. "Quit calling me that." ShinAe said through her gritted teeth.

Grabbing onto Jaehyun's hand, she dragged him away with her. She was furious. Who does Kai think he is? He has no right to go about and question what she does with her life after him. Stopping on the side of the dancefloor, ShinAe turned around to look at Jaehyun. Realising that she was still holding onto Jaehyun's hand and she quickly let go. With the same hand, she ran it through her hair.

"Sorry." She apologised.

ShinAe exhaled to try and calm herself. With the alcohol in her system, her emotions were all fuddled up - she did not know if she was upset, angry, sad, happy or scared. It was so difficult to pinpoint what she was feeling.

Suddenly, she felt a hand gently tilt up her chin up. Her eyes were met with Jaehyun's dark brown orbs - which were peering at her in worry.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" Jaehyun said softly, but loud enough for her to hear. His breath swept against her lips, and she couldn't help but shiver from it. ShinAe searched his concerned eyes and started to feel annoyed at herself. It was supposed to be a fun night, and she was about to make it about herself. The last thing she wanted was to ruin Jaehyun's night with her own issues. 

Shaking her head and coming off his hold on her face, she faked a smile. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Let's get back to what we were doing - helping you find a 'friend'." ShinAe dismissed his concerned.

Turning her head to look around the club, her smiled faltered. *ShinAe, it was just Kai. There's no need to be so effected by him. You're over him. You're here with you friends. You're not alone.* After reassuring herself, she felt her emotions settle down. Her eyes started to search the club, trying to look for a female who might be admiring Jaehyun from a distance. 

Seeing her change the topic, Jaehyun did not press on. He was just getting to know her more. He did not want to push his way through to her and end up pushing her away. Returning her smile, he encouraged. "Do your thing, ShinAe. Just don't do something that will get me punched." ShinAe couldn't help but laughed. Jaehyun's smile widened after hearing her laugh.

Before walking off to fulfil her wingwoman duties, she patted his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up. Just when she was about to leave, he grabbed her wrist. "Wait, are you sure you can go on your own?"

"I'll be alright. I'll be quick." With her free hand, she patted her own chest.

"I'm sure there's someone interested in you." ShinAe made binoculars with her hands. Before he could argue, she got out of his hold and pranced off. Jaehyun threw up his hand in defeat.

ShinAe wasn't lying when she said she will be quick. Jaehyun saw her returning to him with a female trailing behind. She quickly introduced the female to Jaehyun, but Jaehyun did not hear as his head was still occupied with what happened before with the male and ShinAe.  It bothered him that the male had the composed-ShinAe shaken up. 

"I'll be going. Have fun~" ShinAe's voice broke his train of thoughts. Jaehyun was about to take a step to call ShinAe back, but the female slid infront and started to talk to him. Not wanting to be rude, he faced her with a fake grin.

After matchmaking Jaehyun with a female, ShinAe gave him a little wave before skipping off. Assuming that her friends were still by the bar, she made her way there. Out of no where, she was pulled harshly to the side of the club. Her back was pressed against the wall, and she was blocked from the front.  Staring at the figure blocking her, she tried to act tough but immediately weakened once his familiar scent hit her nose. When you get accustomed to something, you subconsciously react to it because of the familiarity and the sense comfort it used to give you. That's what happened to ShinAe. ShinAe knows she did not love Kai anymore but her body still remembered him.

"Finally some one on one time. Let's talk, sweet cheeks." Kai had one hand on the wall next to her head. Taking in a breath to gain some composure, ShinAe managed to glare at him. She was going to be strong. She was not going to let him have his way.

Not wanting to stand another second near him, she turned to the side and tried to leave through the open space he left. Just as she was about to leave, Kai placed a hand on her waist and nudged her back to the previous position.

"Uh uh, not so fast sweet cheeks. What's the rush? Don't you want to catch up with me?" ShinAe felt the hand on her waist move - his thumb lightly rubbing circles on her waist. Scoffing at his words, ShinAe diverted her eyes to the crowd behind him.

"Don't lie to me, Kai. Leave me alone." ShinAe hissed in annoyance. ShinAe held onto the hand that was on her waist, and threw it off.

She tried to leave again, but Kai was not letting her off just like that. Persistent with having a word with his ex-girlfriend, he wrapped one arm around her waist and placed a gentle hand on her cheek. He assumed this would trigger her. It always worked in the past and he was sure it would worked now.

And Kai wasn't wrong.

The warm touch that radiated from his rough hand, had her lowering her guard on him. The gesture and contact that used to always calm her nerves. ShinAe knew she shouldn't but her body reacted on its own and was ever so slowly leaning into the touch.

"Hey, ShinAe. Please just give me a chance to talk to you." Kai tenderly said. ShinAe couldn't help but meet his eyes. Eve
