Sungjong’s POV

“Look at my boy…” she start to let out some squeal while her hands still forced me to turn around, she seemed happy at first but watch the disaster that might be coming after this. I just forced my lips for a thin smile; I thought she wouldn’t be home forever. Really, I don’t like it.

“Mom, that’s enough,” I said,

“Yeah you grow up sweetie…but…”

See? When she began to touch my face, running her slender finger on my face and put that bad expression its mean the disaster already take the start. Slowly her smile disappeared; changing into a frown and unhappy face. She turns my face from right to the left and removes my long bangs, I can see how scary the face of her. “I can’t believe this! How could you…aish,”  she turn her face and walked toward the couch. I just rolled my eyes and followed her steps.

Now she act like a mellow drama cast, she hold her head and keep mumbling “It’s a dream..it’s a dream…” Yes, it’s a dream for you and it’s a nightmare for me. The worst nightmare ever.

“Where’s Sunggyu?” she asked,

“Work. What else?” I sat beside her and take the remote then look for some channel. When my mom keep saying those unnecessary words I just nodded and humming sometimes. She always said that kind of words every time she’s home, I’m tired of this.

I know she’s my mother and she’s the one who give me a birth, but when she forced me to do anything that had any relations with her job I can’t help but feel annoyed. I turn my gaze toward her; she didn’t change from the last time we met. She’s already on her fifty but she looks ten years younger, probably because of the make up magic. I remember how she spent two hours in front of the dressing table; put any colors on her face and place some accessories. After dressed, she’ll ask me if she was pretty or not, I feel like a magic mirror on snow white.

“I don’t know…how could I put this, but son… are you okay with that face of yours?”

Seriously, her words are too harsh for her own son.

“I’m okay. I never arrested by police just because of this face, mom,”

“But…”

“Nah, mom… I’m okay,”

“But, I want to see my cute son again,” she put her aegyo; perhaps if the other fifty years old woman do this I’ll feel creepy, but if she’s my mom it would be hard to refuse.

“I’m already 18, not a kid anymore. Two months again I’m graduated,”

“Age doesn’t matter, if you let mommy to fix up—“

“No, thanks,”

I keep changed the channel; I want her to leave me now. Go to her room and sleep, and then I can go to my room and sleep too. I already back to the first channel and my mom still comfort herself beside me, I know she’s sleepy but she won’t leave. Aish.

When I hit the button for several times, I stopped. I found L on his new CF, what a great night.

“Sungjongie..”

“Sshhhh!”

Both of me and my mom just stay quiet until the CF was done.

“He’s gorgeous…”

We look in to each other with widened eyes. Did she just say that…L is gorgeous? Well, he is. But it’s rare for mom to say those kinds of words. She shook my shoulder and I can see the flames on her eyes, seems she like him.

“Who’s he? Is he…L that you always talk about?” she keep shook my body.

“Y-yeah, what’s wrong?” I removed her hands slowly but her grips are too strong.

“I want to meet him!”

“You don’t plan to take him as your second husband don’t you?”

“That’s great idea. Beside your father already have a lot of woman, so why I don’t have two husband instead?” she laughed but it’s not funny. Having L as my father? The world must be crazy. Ah, no..my mom, she’s the crazy one.

 She ran toward hyung’s room and I know she must be on Sunggyu hyung’s laptop; browse some information about L. she always like that, when she found an interesting stuff she’ll do anything for get what she want. But, I think she don’t want to have L by her self. I mean, she wouldn’t do that second husband project. If she does, I’ll declare a war.

“Sungjongie….sungjongie baby, wake up,” uugh…that woman. Why she can’t let me go just for once!

I opened my eyes forcedly, she’s stand beside me with a bright-devilish smile. “Guess what…?”

“What?”

“You…Sungjong, my son I’ve recommend you to take a model casting for our magazine this month,” she clapped and I’m blinked. The fact is I’m shocked. What’s with this old hag, she tried to take me in to her crazy world.

“Sunggyu said it’s your chance!! Aaaa….  Aren’t you happy?” Mom began to shook my shoulder and she act like a crazy fan girl.

“Mom…but I—“

“No reason Lee Sungjong. Like you said, you already 18 and it’s time for you to face the world,”

I rose form my bed and made my way to the bathroom, try to ignore about what she said. I know that our family runs a magazine redaction about entertainment and fashion, and I know how much Mom, Dad and Sunggyu hyung enjoyed our business. But make me as their model it’s… I don’t know what to say.

And that guy named Sunggyu! What on earth with chance?!

If it’s the chance for an instant death then I agree.

My mom still babbling about her plans for me in the future, doesn’t she remember about my first and last performance on that in stage? I almost commit suicide on my childhood life because embarrassment. My mother always do everything for getting what she want and she would removed anything that might disturb her wants. No one can’t stop her, not me, my brother or even father.

“Jongie~!”

“What?! I’m brushing my teeth now,”

“Be quick!!!”

C’mon it’s Sunday morning why I must rush my self?

I take my teeth brush and put some tooth paste on it, I saw my reflections through the bathroom mirror. Yes, I don’t have a pretty face or cute like hyung always said then how come my mother decides to send me for her magazine cover model? She’s weird.

Just because I was her child doesn’t mean that I have talents like her or Dad, I’m different. For me, heaven is stay in a quiet room and admire someone like L. I admire him but I can’t and I don’t want to be him! If I want to have the same boat like L, then I must spent my life time with that creepy stuff. It’s scared me to death.

When I finished my morning routine, I can’t hear that woman words anymore. Did she left? I wonder where she is. But, I don’t want to call out her name. It’s fine if she go out for a while. But suddenly I hear her squeal in the downstairs, what the hell…

“Sungjongie, come here!!”

“What’s wrong Mom? I’m busy ya know!”

“Don’t be a brat, hurry up~ sweetie!”

I forced my self for fulfill what my mom wished… maybe she want to decline about that modeling thing. When I stopped in the middle of the stairs, I can hear someone talk to my mom. It wasn’t Sunggyu hyung, his voice seems calmer and I think he doesn’t talk too much. I peeked from the stairs and…gosh, he’s L.

What he was doing here?!

I need to change, I haven’t combed my hair and I still on pajamas. I can’t make my self ruined in front of him, where’s my pride?!

“Jongie, what are you doing there?” crap, they noticed me.

I saw L waving his hand, I’m dead...I’m dead. Mom, I really want you to leave. You caused me a lot of troubles in one day. Fisrt you came, second, you suddenly ask me for being a model and now you bring L here when I’m on my pajamas.

“Anyeong,” L bowed his head a bit,

“How polite,” my mom giggled and ask me to sat beside her.

I rolled my eyes and sat beside her, I’m so nervous. L doesn’t stop stared at me, in the breal life he’s really cool more than on TV. I smiled at him but suddenly he turn his face and covering his mouth, what? Is he disgusting because of me? God, please make me amnesia now.

“Listen, Jongie… L wants to meet you today, right?”

“Err…yes, I need to give this to you,” L showed me a CD that I gave to my brother few days ago, I take the CD and when I was about to read the message L stopped me. “Read it later, okay?” he smiled bitterly.

“Why?”

“No…it’s just..read it later,”

“Okay,”

Maybe it’s just my opinion but L looks nervous now. Is it because my mom? He take the glass and sip his coffee. Both of us just stay silent while my mom read some newspaper, I want to built a conversation but what should we talk. We don’t know each other and although I know about his hobby through the facts on internet or information from my brother, I don’t dare to talk about it. I don’t want to be a dumb in front of him; showing my fan boy side? Hell with it.

“Jongie,” my mom called, I turned my face quickly.

“Yes?”

“The one who will be your partner is L-gun,”

“What?”

She just giggled and I drag her for a while, she can’t do this. L will know about my phobia and everything if he became my partner, no, no, no!

“Mom…why must me?!” I whispered but all she do just giggled and pat my shoulder.

“Because… you fit with the—“

“You can ask hyung! He’s more experienced than me!”

“But, L wants you. He doesn’t like your brother,”

“Then, don’t take L. Use another person,”

Suddenly mom grabs my shoulder hard, she forced me to look at her and she leaned closer in to my ear. I was shivering because her action,

“Listen Sungjong. Mommy. Wants. L. I want him,”

“But—“

“Want me to dress you as a girl and forced you to sleep in the storage room???” she cupped my face, it may sound cute but you know…she had another intention behind this. I shook my head and she smiled; satisfied. “Beside, you don’t need to be nervous. I’ll teach you how to act in front cameras and everything! I’ve ask L manager, he’s a good trainer,”
