Taeng woke up in the next morning
just in time when Hayeon came to Taeng's room with a glass of water
"Oh you're awake Taeng" Hayeon puts down the glass of water and sat beside Taeng
"My head still hurts" Taeng touched his head
"What happened to you Taeng? did you drink last night?" Hayeon asked
"I'm sure of myself that I didn't drink. I just came home from Tiffany's house last night." Taeng said
"We have to make sure. We'll go to the hospital today." Hayeon said stood up and heads for the door
"Where's mom & dad?" Taeng asked
"On a business trip" Hayeon said
"again?" Taeng said
"Yeah. now hurry up and go change" Hayeon said and left the room
Taeng changed his clothes to a casual one and head downstairs
"Let's go" Taeng said
They head outside and hopped on to Hayeon's car and drove to the hospital
--Meanwhile Tiffany's side--
Tiffany just woke up and head downstairs to meet with her parents
Tiffany ate her breakfast and was about to go upstairs when her parents called her
"Stephanie. now we know that you're pregnant. I would like to give this to you." Mr. Hwang hands a house key to Tiffany
"Dad. What's with this key?" Tiffany asked dumbfounded
"It's the key to your new house with Taeng" Mrs. Hwang said
"OMG! Thank you mom & dad!" Tiffany said out loud and quickly hugged her parents
"Be good my daughter" Mr. Hwang then kissed the crown of Tiffany's head
and they hugged.
---Taeng's side--
"I'm sorry to say this Mr. Kim Taeng. But there's a tumor on your brain." The doctor said
"but doc. We cured that tumor years ago!" Taeng gritted his teeth and slammed his hand on the doctor's desk
"Just as you said. It was cured but it was only temporarly." The doctor leaned on his chair
"how's that even possible!? but the doctor said that it was removed permanently!" Taeng said
Hayeon rubbed his brother's back
"It's true that it was removed permanently, but it naturally came back" the doctor said
Taeng was at loss in words. he brought his hands and covered it with his palm
"that is why your head is hurting these days." the doctor said
Taeng & Hayeon was silent
"I recommend you to have surgery Mr. Kim. after that I can assure you that your tumor in your brain will disappear for sure." the doctor said
Taeng & Hayeon immediately looks at each other.
"But I should warn you Mr. Kim Taeng. you only have 50/50 chances that you could survive." the doctor warned
"Excuse me." The doctor leaves the room
Taeng was still in dazed. when he heard that he had 50/50 chances that he could survived, his world burn down immediately.
"Taeng, Taeng" Hayeon sobbed and hugged her brother.
Taeng was still in dazed and lifeless.
--in the car--
Taeng was leaning on the window of the car. dazed and confused
Hayeon kept on stealing glances on Taeng
then she saw that Taeng's phone is ringing.
"Taeng. it's Tiffany. aren't you gonna answer it?" Hayeon said still looking at the road
"Taeng! I've got great news!" Tiffany said excitedly
"We finally got ourselves a house! my mom & dad gave it!" Tiffany said
"Taeng. Aren't you happy?" Tiffany then frowned not hearing Taeng excited
"Of course I'm happy Tiff" Taeng said and faked a smiled
"Oops. I gotta go my parents need me." Tiffany said
then they ended the call
"So. Tiffany doesn't know yet huh?" Hayeon said
"No, she still doesn't know it." Taeng said
"do you have any plans to tell her about it?" hayeon said
"No. and I'm not gonna tell her. It would cause her to get stress and it would affect our baby" Taeng said
Hayeon kept silent until they reached home
Taeng headed upstairs to his room and locked himself until dinner.
"Taeng. it's dinner time. Time to eat." Hayeon knocked on his door
"I'm not hungry yet. just put it somewhere and I'm gonna eat it later." Taeng said
Hayeon obliged his orders and puts in the refrigerator
--After some time--
Taeng dragged himself to the kitchen to eat something
he ate the food lifelessly that Hayeon made
after Taeng ate he went straight to his room
Hayeon heard that Taeng went again to his room.
Hayeon tiptoed to his room and leaned against it
Hayeon heard that Taeng was crying again.
Without knowing it, Hayeon was crying too
Hayeon brought her hands over to prevent her from letting out a sob
'if only I can remove that tumor out of your brain. I want to do so. I would do anything for my little brother' Hayeon thought
Hayeon was still leaning on Taeng's door and crying silently
while Taeng cried all night.
