Chaerin looked at Jiyong, her boyfriend of many years. It felt as if they’ve been dating for many years, they’ve been close since they were in diapers and in high school they became closer. 

She became the queen b of the school and he the king which people assumed them to be dating and they played along, before they knew it they were kissing in hallways and never cleared their status with each other.

Now that they went off to college...

“I think it’s for the best” Jiyong tells her while holding her hand 

Chaerin nods “I agree” she says with a bit of indifference

Jiyong held her chin “this won’t change our friendship right?” He asks concerned 

Chaerin finally meets his eyes “of course not” she gives him a small smile

“Our plans still on for tonight?” Jiyong asks

“Uh- I actually think it best if we don’t, we just broke up and it might be best if we do something else separately tonight” she says “but I’ll see you Monday okay?” She asks with a smile 

Jiyong nods “sure”

Chaerin knew the only reason they are breaking up is because of the new girl, the girl is beautiful. She’s his best friend new step sister and automatically she’s attending their college.

“Kay” she gives him a smile and takes her books from his hand “see you later Kwon” she says while walking away from him

“See you later Chae” she heard him say as she was leaving.

As soon as she a hallway she was met with her best friend “What happened?” 

“What do you think? We broke up” she says rolling her eyes 

“You were right” Sandara points out 

“I’m always right S” Chaerin sighs “I knew the moment we met her that he would try and date her” she adds

“And you’re okay with this?” 

“Of course not, that why we broke up and I don’t plan on getting back together” 

“He loves you C” Dara reasons with her 

“Not enough if we broke up because of his sudden quest” Chaerin says 

Dara sighs “you’re right” 

Chaerin smiles mischievously “now I can freely have some fun” she smirks 

“No, no no Chae” Dara says widening her eyes “you can’t” 

“Of course I can, Jiyong and I broke up” she shrugs “I’m a free woman and god knows he has been flirting with me” she smirks 

“He’s one of his friends, close friends” 

Chaerin rolls her eyes “nobody has to know and if he does find out then it doesn’t matter because we broke up” Chaerin shrugs 

“Oh gosh, Chae you and I both know that Jiyong likes to be the one doing the moving on, if you start something with anyone he will make everyone’s lives miserable” 

“Oh don’t exaggerate Dara, he won’t because we are broken up.. I can move on as so can he, don’t pretend like he’s not going to be out tonight or tomorrow with the new miss Lee” Chaerin rolls her eyes 

Dara sighs “you’re right” 

Chaerin smiles “I know I am, now let’s go do some shopping for tonight’s party”

Dara smiles “let’s go get Bom and Minzy” 

“Lets” chaerin says as they start walking to find the two other girls

Later that night,

Chaerin arrives at the party with Minzy by her side, Bom was attending with SeungHyun and Dara with YB. Chaerin knew that if YB was here then his new step sister was bound to be here and possibly on the arm of her ex boyfriend.

Minzy pulled her to the back “let’s have fun okay? Martini?” 

Chaerin smiles “sure”

Minzy gave her a martini and soon they were joined by Bom and Dara, they did a round of martini’s until Bom suggested shots.

“Just one” Chaerin argued 

Dara clapped while Minzy gave them shots. 

Bom noticed that on the other side of the room was Jiyong with the new girl, just like how Chaerin had guessed. 

Bom discreetly told Dara and Dara told Minzy, Minzy made it her mission to not let Chaerin notice.

Minzy pulled Chaerin further into the back of the house where music was playing and people were dancing.

“Come on don’t be boring like B & D” Minzy pouted cutely 

Chaerin smiled and rolled her eyes “Fine” she says and started dancing with Minzy, it had been a while since she just danced and drank. In high school all the parties she attended had been with Jiyong by her side and limiting her drinks now she had no one to stop and she was a bit thankful.

The girls did another round of shots and danced, Minzy was proud of herself for distracting Chaerin until almost midnight. 

Chaerin was laughing and dancing when she noticed Jiyong with the new girl at the bar, the girl looked a bit tipsy and giggly while he has his arm around her waist.

Chaerin motioned for Minzy to turn around, when Minzy turned she sighed. 

“Don’t let it ruin our night” Minzy suggested
