chapter XV: this means war
the aster and the sunflower.Kim Jisoo.
Jennie genuinely thought that today would be a great day; considering that it was the first day of snow, the malls were blasting Christmas songs, kids were already dragging their parents into the newest Toy Store in New York, clips of The Grinch were playing on TV stores and mistletoes were everywhere. It was a week before Christmas. It was a good day in New York today.
But Kim Jisoo had other plans.
She is the Grinch who doesn’t wanna around today. All throughout the drive, Jisoo just kept ranting and cursing until God would lose count of all the sins she made by swearing. She would repeatedly stomp her feet and even refused to put on her seatbelt. It was like driving an 8 year old to school. Jennie had not even spoken a word to the older girl, she just let her vent out her feelings.
“Stupid J-Hope. Who does he think he is? He literally met Chaeyoung a month ago and suddenly he’s someone that she thinks would be of “great help”. Heck, he’s not even part of our group of friends. He’s not even close to me or Lisa, if he thinks he can have Chaeyoung without passing through us then he’s ing wrong. That needs to work ing hard to able to get Roseanne Park” Jisoo ranted as she crossed her arms and kicked the console
“Unnie”
“He’s known her for a month. A ing month! She’s known me for 9 ing years and suddenly I’m not good enough to put on simple decorations?!” Jisoo continued to rant
“Unnie”
“So what if he graduated from Harvard? I ing went to Harvard too!”
“Unn—Wait you went to Harvard?” Jennie asked
“Yeah! To visit my cousin!” Jisoo said, Jennie restrained from giggling.
“Harvard isn’t so fancy anyways. Would she really rather date a boring guy like him? Sure he’s nice and sophisticated but where the hell is the fun in that? It’s like he has his whole life planned. It’s ing better to live in the moment and see where life goes!”
“Unnie”
“He ain’t so handsome too. Heck, even Lisa’s better looking than he is”
“Unnie”
“And he drives an SUV! What is he? A mom with two kids?!”
“Unnie”
“What?!” Jisoo exclaimed
“We’re here” Jennie said
Jisoo sighed as she inhaled and let out a shaky breath.
“Yeah whatever” Jisoo said as she got out of the car
Jennie just shook her head and went out of the car as well. She was actually expecting Jisoo to be quiet and sulking in the corner all day, but heck, she’s stuck with a hot headed Jisoo Kim who seemed to have forgotten what it’s like to not use ‘’ in every sentence. Jennie was always aware of Jisoo’s love for Rosé, it was obvious, no doubt about that, and Jennie’s lucky that Rosé had told her of her feelings for the junior game developer. Jennie actually thought it would be easy for them since they felt the same way for each other, alas here they were, with Rosé entertaining this guy whose name sounds like a rapper down the streets, and Jisoo swearing all the way causing moms to cover their kids’ ears.
Jisoo then suddenly stopped right in front of an average sized pine tree. Its branches seemed strong and it looked very vibrant and alive, something that would definitely look good in Floraison. Snowflakes showered the tree beautifully, but they would manage it. Jennie stood beside Jisoo who simply kicked her boots in the snow.
“Tell me how much it hurts” Jennie said
Jisoo stopped kicking and then looked at Jennie who was busy observing the tree in front of them.
“What?” Jisoo asked
“Tell me how much it hurts whenever you see Rosé with someone other than you, or whenever you feel like Rosie might have feelings for you then all of a sudden you realize that it’s absurd. Tell me how much it hurts you and I’ll enlighten you with facts and a few advices” Jennie said
Jennie expected Jisoo to deny, to laugh it off, and to tell her she’s crazy, but Jisoo just sighed and started talking honestly.
“It’s an unexplainable feeling. The pain I feel cannot be put into words, because I’m afraid that once I voice them out then it’ll be all real and I might break down” Jisoo said as she clenched her jaw
Lisa was right when she told Jennie that Jisoo was a book worm. She spoke like an author planning on her new heart breaking novel, she had depth in her words that only those who read between the lines are able to figure it out. In all honesty, Jennie was never the person who would give out great advices, her little sister was better at it than her, but with Jisoo…Jennie’s sure she just needs a simple advice to push her, and if Jisoo won’t be straight to the point with her, then she’ll make Jisoo read between the lines too.
“You won’t regret the pain once you finally let yourself free and conquer the world that you think is so hard to reach” Jennie said
Jisoo did not respond. But Jennie knew she understood.
“Now help me convince that buff guy over there to cut this tree down for us” Jennie said, Jisoo chuckled as she nodded.
…
The World War I, which was also known as the First World War and/or the Great War, was a global war originating in Europe that lasted from the 28th of July in the year 1914 to the 11th of November in the year 1918, whilst the Second World War lasted from the year 1939 to 1945. The vast majority of the world's countries—including all the great powers—eventually formed two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.
Lisa was never fond of history, but it did seem like she was watching a war right now as Jisoo and J-Hope tried to do everything to impress innocent Rosé.
Jisoo and Jennie had gotten back to the shop 30 minutes after Lisa and Dahyun returned, once they had placed all the necessary material, the war was on. J-Hope was quick to carry the tree to the left side of the shop, putting away the coffee table, the guy flexed his muscles that made Rosé all sorts of red which made Jisoo very furious so she spent a solid 10 minutes arguing with the guy that the tree should be placed on the right side. J-Hope had seemed to prepare a great speech on why it should be on the left side while Jisoo simply said…
“Didn’t the Lord say He is seated at the right hand of the
