Once my tears dried and I had no more tears left to cry, I stepped out of the toilet cubicle, rubbing my red eyes. I decided to wait outside the operation room and knocked out cold on one of the sofas.

Someone shook my shoulders, jolting me back awake. It was my aunt taeyeon, looking flustered.

"Aunt taeyeon? How did you know?"

"Seulgi-ah, your friend joohyun called, saying that she saw you and your mom go into the ambulance. How is your mother-" Aunt taeyeon was interrupted by the surgeon walking out of the operation room, a solemn expression on his face and sweat dripping down his face.

The both of us waited anxiously for the surgeon to tell us the results. After what seemed like years of waiting for the surgeon to slowly wipe away all of his sweat, he said in a low voice,

"Mrs Kim is in coma now, the operation was a success but she needs to recuperate for a while."

We learned that my mom had gotten five stitches on her skull and has a fairly deep wound on her neck that would be permanently seen.

Upon hearing that, my eyes practically lit up, heaving a sigh of relief, I was just glad she made it out alive.

It has been two weeks of mom staying in the hospital. Surprisingly, she woke up within a day, something which the doctors said was a miracle. I didn't believe in miracles but I definitely believed in fate. It was as if she was destined to make it out alive. As for my father...W
