Purple polka dotted Raincoat

Purple polka dotted Raincoat

”No absolutely not”.

”Come on, you need a raincoat and I have one you can borrow.”

“But it’s purple and has polka dots! I’m not wearing it!”

Loud bickering echoed through the house. It wasn’t an unusual sound to hear but it wasn’t pleasant or peaceful. It was annoying, yet the two siblings never seemed to stop their bickering. To say their mother was tired of it was an understatement. Her oldest child was a girl in her early twenty named Hyesung and her youngest child was a nineteen-year-old boy named Luhan, yet they seemed like children from 3rd grade fighting over who gets the best piece of candy.

Releasing a loud sigh, the older woman got up from her comfy chair and went up the stairs, walking towards the voices.

“For heaven’s sake, when will the two of you grow up!?” she burst through the doors to her son’s room. The two siblings nearly had a heart attack but quickly forgot about it and began shouting at each other again,

“Oh my dear mother, our little Luhannie needs a raincoat since dad took our only umbrella to work,” she began with a pitiful voice, moving to her mother’s side to stand across of Luhan, “and because our little Luhan gets sick so easily he needs something to protect him from any harm that may occur on his way to work. Yet,” she held up the purple raincoat with white polka dots “he refuses to wear this raincoat that I am so kind enough to let him borrow!” she finished and smirked at Luhan who scowled at his sister’s words.

Their mother sighed for the second time that day and rubbed her temples ”I hate to say it Luhan, but your sister is right.” Hyesung made a triumph move behind their mother that only Luhan could see (which of course made him grumpier), “But mom, it’s so- so girly!” He pointed at the raincoat as if it was poisonous. The mom looked at the raincoat and back to Luhan, “Maybe, but with your fragile body you need something to cover yourself with so you don’t’ get sick, now pull yourself together and get to work young man.” She finished and began walking away, shaking her head in disbelief.

Behind her Hyesung was trying to hide her laugh while Luhan pouted angrily after getting the coat thrown at him. Their mother stopped at the doorway, turned around and pointed at Hyesung, “You do the dishes the next three days.” She said and left the room. Luhan laughed so hard he fell to the floor after looking at Hyesung’s grimaced face. “You were lucky this time, little bro.” she said and left Luhan to laugh even more.

After laughing for good five minutes he finally pulled himself together and hurried out the door with the purple polka dotted raincoat covering his body, trying to get him out of his sister’s sight before she could catch a picture to use against him in the future. He knew his sister too goddamn well.

The rain was strong. The weather surrounding all of Seoul had gotten so bad over the past few days that lakes and sewers had overflown. Some store owners had decided to take a temporary leave until the weather was back to normal, but Luhan wasn’t so lucky. He worked at a well-known toy store in a big mall in central Seoul, and because the rain didn’t reach the inside of the mall he had to go to work. Not that he hated it, it was just inconvenient for him when the weather was so bad because he got sick very easily.

He got out from the almost empty bus and walked fast towards the mall. As popular as the mall was, Luhan was surprised that the only bus stop was a few streets away from the mall itself. He had gotten used to it after working at the toy store for a few years but on days like this one it made him sigh of annoyance.

This day definitely wasn’t his. As soon as he stepped out of the bus, the rain seemed to come faster. “Are you kidding me…” he whispered to himself and began running, but when the wind began pushing him around he sought refuge in an almost empty convenience store. His heart was pounding fast after running and he tried to catch he breath, not noticing whether there were people around him.

“Are you okay?” a voice asked him which made the boy look up. He shouldn’t have because if his cheeks hadn’t been red before, they definitely were now. Before him stood a tall and very handsome man with dark brown wet hair and a fine suit that looked very expensive. He was completely drenched from head to toe and Luhan assumed the other didn’t have an umbrella either.

Remembering the asked question, Luhan quickly answered “Oh, yes, thank you, I’m fine.” Luhan said trying not to meet the eyes of the handsome stranger. “That’s good.” The handsome stranger said before sitting down at the tall chairs in front of the store window.

Luhan didn’t know what to do. It was raining so hard and he would definitely get wet if he went out now, even with the raincoat. He decided the best thing to do was wait for the rain to calm down. Making sure not to pick a seat beside the handsome man (that would be too awkward) the boy sat down two seats away. He looked around the store and noticed the lack of people, the cashier wasn’t even there and Luhan assumed that he was in the back of the store, not expecting any customers.

He removed the few strands of his dark blond hair that had gotten wet at his journey to the convenience store and sighed and took his phone to call his boss. “Yes hello it’s me. I will be a little late to work… Yes, it’s raining quite hard at the moment so I’m currently in a convenient store… Yes of course, I’ll get there as soon as the rain calms down… Yes thank you boss, bye.” The ended the call. His boss was a reasonable man (sometimes) and understood the problem, luckily for the boy. He sighed and looked out at the empty streets.

“It’s quite rare to see the streets of Seoul this empty, don’t you think?” Luhan hadn’t expected the handsome stranger to talk to him and almost got a shock. “Ah, eh, yes, Indeed,” he paused, trying to find the correct words, “I-It’s quite nice though,” he felt the stranger look at him, “Ah! I-I mean not the rain, the rain is horrible, but the empty streets!” He panicked trying to save the situation.

He heard the other chuckle and Luhan’s cheeks reddened even more (if it was possible). He saw the other look out the window again, “Yeah, it’s nice and quiet somehow, without the people and the thousands of cars.” The handsome stranger said. Luhan couldn’t help but stare at him while the other looked out. The sharp cheekbones became much more visible as he looked out. The brown hair was pushed back to get the wet hair away from his face and a flush crept Luhan’s face when he realized how much he was thinking about the stranger.

Half an hour went by without any changes in the weather and Luhan got impatient.

“It’ll never stop” he though out loud and once again got surprised by the other’s voice speaking up “Probably not, we’re quite late.” Luhan nodded at the words and pouted.

“I should probably get going before my boss calls me. W-what about you?” Luhan dared to ask as he got up from the seat. The other got up from his seat as well.

“I probably should too, my employees are probably panicking.” The taller said with a smile on his lips and walked towards the door.

Luhan stood shocked beside the chair, “E-employees?” he whispered, not loud enough for the other to hear. The taller turned around, “Nice raincoat by the way, the color fits your hair.” He said with a genuine smile and left the store.

Luhan stood frozen in the convenience store. “Employees? ‘it matches your hair’… What just happened?”

He then left the store and ran to the mall, his heart beating very fast (and not because of his poor athletic skills)

1 week later

“You must be kidding me!” Luhan said, looking through the closet in the hallway.

“What are you looking for, my dear?” His mom asked from the kitchen.

“The umbrella, I just got called to work” He answered.

“Your dad took it to work.” His mom said and Luhan sighed and almost banged his head into the closetdoor “yes, that’s what I was fearing…” he mumbled. He needed that umbrella, otherwise he would have to use the darn raincoat again.

Luhan grumbled and went up the stairs with harsh loud steps, “Why do we only have one umbrella in this house anyway?!” He shouted only to receive a scolding from his mom in the kitchen “You were the one who broke the other ones, don’t forget that!” Luhan flinched just listening to her voice and hurried up the stairs to Hyesung’s room.

He barged into her room. “I need to borrow your raincoat.” He mumbled.

Hyesung starred at him, and Luhan swore he saw a slight smirk on her face. “What, I didn’t hear you.” She said.

Luhan released a sight “I need to borrow your raincoat”

“Sorry what?” She smirked.

“I said, I NEED TO BORROW YOUR RAINCOAT!” He shouted.

Hyesung laughed and went to her closet to fetch the raincoat and threw it at Luhan.

The boy continued to grumble all the way down the stairs and into the hallway before heading out.

“I’m living among idiots.”

The weather hadn’t gotten better since the last week. It had been silent for around three days, with no rain or wind at all, but the rain arrived again and this time it had brought along thunder. Stores were still closed – except for the bigger ones, and the mall -  and some of the bus companies had closed as well because it was too dangerous to drive in the weather, and this led to Luhan taking a taxi until the taxi driver refused to continue because he got a call from his company saying to cancel the rest of the day and go home.

He had been walking for quite a while when the rain began pouring even more than before. He ran for some time until he sought refuge in the nearest open store he could find.

“Oh, it’s you again.” A slightly familiar voice said and Luhan looked towards the voice. It was the handsome stranger from the last time. Luhan looked around and found the store was the same as the last time as well.

“W-What a coincidence.” Luhan blushed. The stranger was wearing a different suit than last time, but it looked just as expensive as the other one.

“Sought refuge from the rain again?” The stranger asked and Luhan nodded. Every time he looked at the other man his legs seemed to wobble and his voice stutter.

“Well, you’re welcome to sit with me.” The man said and smiled at the boy. Luhan thanked him and took the seat beside the other.

”I didn’t get your name last time.” The man was looking at him and Luhan felt like melting.

“I-I..I-I’m Luhan” Luhan blushed.

“Hi Luhan, my name is Sehun.” The man smiled and Luhan couldn’t help but smile himself. A few minutes went by and Luhan couldn’t be more uncomfortable. Not only was the stranger very handsome, he also had a nice voice and he seemed like a very nice guy in Luhan’s opinion. He wanted to know more about Sehun but he was too shy to ask.

You can do it Luhan! Just ask him a simple question, it’ll be fine, the boy thought and took a deep breath before breaking the silence, “H-How did you recognize me?” he asked the other only to realize how stupid It must have sounded.

A deep chuckle came from Sehun and Luhan’s heart skipped a beat as the other pointed at him, “The purple raincoat with polka-dots. It’s not difficult to remember.” Luhan’s cheeks reddened but this time from embarrassment.

“Oh, I, Um, It’s my sister’s coat. My dad took our only umbrella, so I had to use it. It looks ridiculous, doesn’t it?” It was probably the longest sentence he had said since the two had met and the boy was almost proud of himself.

“Not at all,” the other said and Luhan’s eyes widened. “As I said the last time, it matches your hair. It looks good on you.” Sehun smiled at him and turned his body towards Luhan, “I meant what I said, I wasn’t lying.” Luhan’s face went blank. The man just said he looked good in the raincoat. He looked good.

“Thank you.” Luhan said, his voice soft. He looked down to his lap, too shy to look the other in the face.

“You’re welcome, Luhan.”

“You don’t look bad yourself!” Luhan mentally facepalmed. Oh god why did I say that!

“Thank you.” Sehun said, quite surprised to receive the compliment.

“A-also, can I ask you a question out of curiosity?” Luhan shyly asked, looking out the window even as he felt the other’s eyes on him.

“Sure, ask away.”

“It had been bugging me since last time, but what did you mean by ‘employees’?” He asked.
“Oh, it feels weird saying this, but I’m the CEO of a quite large company, that’s why it’s employees” Sehun said and Luhan’s jaw almost dropped. “Oh, that explains the expensive suits.” Luhan said, why a shy smile.

“Yeah, I guess wearing the most expensive suits makes me look more professional. It’s also to not be looked down upon by other CEO’s, if you get what I mean. It’s weird, really.” Sehun said and Luhan was quite interested in the other’s words.

“So it’s a way of showing off your status to the other businessmen?” the smaller asked and received a nod.

“I didn’t know big businessmen had it like that, it’s quite funny.” Luhan grinned.
“How so?” Sehun asked.

“it sounds a bit… Childish?” He answered, and Sehun laughed, “That sounds weird coming from a person wearing a polka-dotted raincoat” They both laughed at that.

“You won that one” Luhan smiled.

“I did.”

A comfortable silence erupted.

“So, where do you work?” Sehun asked the smaller boy after a few minutes of waiting for the rain to calm.

“I work at the big mall a few streets away. The toy store on the fourth floor.” He said, and received one of those deep chuckled he came to like. “Purple raincoat and a toy store,” he grinned.

“You won that one too” Luhan said, his face growing crimson from hearing all the chuckles from Sehun.

“So you owe me a favor?” Sehun asked, and Luhan contemplated whether it was a good or a bad idea, but he went with it.

“Sure.” He said, tucking a bit on the end of the raincoat.

“Once the weather gets better, let’s grab some coffee at a café.” Sehun said and Luhan couldn’t quite believe what he just heard.

“T-That’s your favor?” Luhan stuttered.

“You don’t want to?” Luhan noted the hint of sadness behind the other’s eyes and panicked,

“No! I mean, Yes! I mean, I want to go! With you to the café, that is…” Luhan blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Great. I will contact you some time then, but I’ll need your number, if that’s okay?” Now Sehun seemed nervous.

“Of course, here” they exchanged numbers.

“I’m sorry but I have to go now, but I promise I’ll contact you soon!” Sehun said and quickly left the store as he waved to the smaller boy.

As the other had left Luhan sighed and lay his head on the table in front of him. What just happened? Did I just give my number to the tall handsome guy? It feels unreal, Luhan thought. Lots of random thoughts ran through his head as he watched the rain pouring down from the sky. “Maybe this raincoat isn’t that bad after all,” he sighed.

Riinggg! Riinggg! Riinggg!

Luhan picked up his phone, “I’m on my way boss, it began pouring down as soon as I got out from my taxi! … Yes, sir, I’ll be there soon, bye!” He quickly pulled himself together and brought an umbrella while he was at it and ran towards the mall in full speed.

The weather finally became better after a few days. The rain stopped, and the grey and dull sky became white and bright. The city began moving back to what it had been, and the stores opened again after having been closed for such a long time. Cars and people filled the streets with noises and Seoul was back in the usual routine.

Sehun, as a businessman had no time to stop and close. As the CEO, he had to be there at all times and make sure everything went as it should. It was a very stressful job indeed, and he sometimes had to lean back for a minute and breathe, and that was exactly what he was doing at the moment.

Sitting in his comfy office chair looking over Seoul from a high floor in the building he owned. He had accomplished a lot in his 24 year of living, and he was quite proud of himself, as was his family. But he was still young and wanted to have a bit of freedom.

He starred at his phone’s screen that was locked on a special person’s contact number. “You’re a 24 year old CEO of a big company, yet you’re too shy to write a simple message to a boy you almost just met.” He told himself.

Sighing he began typing;

Hi, it’s Sehun, do you still remember me and my favor?
Do you perhaps have time this afternoon?

He clicked on the send button and released a breath. All he had to do now was to wait, as if that wasn’t bad enough. A few hours went by before he got an answer

Hi, sorry, I’m sick today so I won’t make it. I’m sorry!

Sehun’s heart was beating loudly as he stared at the message. He was worried for the boy, and he couldn’t hide it.

It’s fine, just rest and get better. Are you okay? Is it something serious?

He tried not to sound too desperate, but he was so worried

It’s a fever, I’ll be alright. I’ll text you back

Sehun leaned back in his seat again and looked at the ceiling. What is this boy doing to me…
He remembered when he saw the boy running towards the convenience store, clearly taking all his attention because of the colorful raincoat that stood out amongst the grey buildings and the grey sky. The boy looked quite young but not that young, maybe just a bit younger than Sehun himself. Luhan had been very shy at their first meeting and Sehun was as well, but he felt something weird while watching the dark blond haired boy blush. By their second meeting Sehun knew he had to meet the boy again or he would regret it later.

He regrets nothing now.

Maybe it was just a slight crush but Sehun didn’t care. He sincerely cared for the smaller boy and wanted to get to know him better. His mind kept wandering back to the boy whatever he did, and it made it quite difficult to think about his important work. His secretary even seemed worried about his spacing out. His mind kept showing him pictures of Luhan in his cute little raincoat. Even though Sehun knew it sounded crazy he had started to believe in love at first sight.

“Earth to Sehun!” a voice called him back from his daydreaming and he now noticed his secretary looking weirdly at him, “Do you have any idea of how busy we are!? You can’t just sit there and daydream, work!” Sehun groaned.

“Sometimes I swear I see devil horns growing on your head, Baekhyun. You do know I’m your boss, right?” Sehun wasn’t sure whether that question was to the secretary or himself for that matter.

“Yeah, but sometimes you sure don’t act like it, get going!” Baekhyun slammed the door shut and Sehun was left alone.

Better get working then…

Luhan was feeling like crap. That couldn’t even do it, he felt like he was dying.
“I swear mom, my head’s gonna burst soon.” Luhan groaned from underneath his quilt. “Yeah, that’s why it surprises me to see you on the phone, will you put it away and rest for god’s sake.” His mom ran around like crazy making him extra dizzy and sick. He put the phone down on the bedside table and groaned once again.

His mom finally sat down beside him and looked at her son in his sick state. “Poor boy…” she whispered out of nowhere, but Luhan was already asleep. She slowly the boy’s hair and smiled when the boy pouted in his sleep.

“Let’s hope your fever leaves soon.” She left the boy to sleep.

A few days later Luhan regained his health. He sat at his desk and starred at his phone.

You can do it Luhan.

No you can’t

You can!

Ugh…

He tugged in a few hair strands and was oblivious to the person listening and watching his pitiful state from the door.

“But won’t I seem desperate? Or what if he is busy and I’m distracting him?” He talked to himself.

“UGH, WHY!” the sound of a head colliding with a wooden desk could probably be heard in the entire house. The boy rubbed his forehead and immediately regretted his outburst.

“I swear, I could watch you fight yourself all day, it’s very entertaining.” A voice said and Luhan jumped a few centimeters into the air.

His sister laughed hard at the boy’s actions and entered the room before closing the door.
“You seem to have a crush, tell me about it. Who is it?”

“Why should I tell you…”

“I’m your sister, I’m supposed to make fun of you and this is the perfect opportunity.” She received a harsh glare from her younger brother at the statement.

She chuckled, “Kidding. I’m an over protective older sister who wants to know whether the guy is worthy enough to be a part of this family.” She sat down on her brother’s bed, crossing her arms.

“Now spill.” She ordered. Luhan sighed as if he was giving up and went to close the door.
“Okay his name is Sehun. I guess he’s a little bit older than I am. I met him by coincidence in a convenience store the first day I borrowed your raincoat. I then met him again by coincidence some time afterwards and we talked and now he has invited me out to get some coffee.” Luhan explained, slightly blushing and avoiding looking at his sister.

“Wow that’s legit something out of a cheesy romance drama.” Hyesung looked flabbergasted. “I love it!” she exploded, “What is his job? How does he look? Is he handsome?” She kept asking and Luhan swore he saw stars in her eyes.

“Geez… Remind me to never let him meet you…” The boy mumbled. “Well, he’s a CEO--” A large gasp and a squeal filled the room and the sister was clearly overexcited. “and yes, he is very handsome.” Luhan admitted and felt his cheeks reddening.

“Oh my god, you’re so in love with him! When are you going on the date?” She asked.
“It’s not a date! Just, we’re going for coffee… and I don’t know, I told him I would text him when I got better...”

“Yeah, that’s definitely a date, anyway, what are you waiting for?!” She exclaimed and tried reaching for his phone on the desk. But Luhan was quicker and secured the phone and swore he almost had a heart attack. “Will you please stop bothering me! I will text him back, alright!?”

“Do it now! Before he gets taken!”

“Will you stop overreacting and get out now!?”

“Alright, but you better have texted him back before I steal your phone!” She yelled back and finally left the room.

Silence erupted. A sigh escaped and Luhan unlocked his phone and stared at the screen.

Ugh just do it…

He clicked ‘send’.

Hi it’s Luhan, I’m back on my feet again

Luhan was surprised to see a new message just a few seconds later.

That’s great, I was worried. Do you perhaps have time tomorrow evening?
Luhan’s heart skipped a beat. Tomorrow already!?

Yeah tomorrow’s fine.

Great! Do you want me to pick you up or do you wanna meet me at the station or?

We can meet at the station, if that’s okay

That’s totally fine, let’s meet around 4.30 pm at the entrance.

Sure! See you then :D

Luhan threw himself onto his bed and squealed into his fluffy pillow.

“Oh my god I’m going out with him!” He rolled around but stopped after a few minutes. But, I don’t even know much about him, he thought. Maybe there’s articles about him?
The boy pulled out his phone and typed the name of the handsome man.
Shockingly lots of articles popped up and Luhan got curious

“CEO Oh Sehun revealed to live in one of the most prestigious apartments in South Korea.”
“CEO of large company buys a chain of high-end malls in both Seoul and Busan.”
“Oh Sehun scores number one on the list of top handsome CEO’s of Asia, watch the latest HD pictures here!”

“Wow, he’s like a celebrity with all that fame…” The boy kept scrolling and articles kept popping out. He decided to just lay down the phone instead. He wanted to get to know Sehun in the correct way and not over the internet.

Even though Luhan was nervous, he was also very excited. He had never been interested in other’s and had always been on the more silent and shy side, hence he never had been in any relationship before. Although the boy never complained, he knew he missed something in his life. He wasn’t exactly lonely, but he just knew that something was missing. And based on his emotions, Sehun was the piece he felt was missing (no matter how embarrassing that was to admit).

Of course the other could see him in another way, Luhan just hoped that the CEO maybe felt the same for him.

Standing in front of the metro station had never been more nerve wracking. The young CEO kept shifting leg to stand on and checking his phone. Maybe I shouldn’t have come half an hour earlier? Sehun thought, looking at the time on his expensive gold watch for the nth time. When he looked up his eyes widened.

Walking towards him was the boy he had been waiting for, only he was more gorgeous than their last meetings. The boy’s hair had been slightly curled, and he wore a grey knitted sweater with a deer on under his long blue jacket, mixed with skinny black jeans and uggs. The boy simply looked so adorable.

He waved at the CEO and Sehun couldn’t hide his smile, not that we wanted to either. And when they finally stood in front of each other the big – and unspoken – question was now, are we supposed to hug now or just shake hands? They both mentally thought.

Somehow, they both managed reach in for a hug only to have their heads banging into each other.

“Hahaha! Oh my god!” They both laughed.

“That was so awkward!” Luhan exclaimed while laughing.

“Agree, maybe we should just go to the café?” Sehun said removing a tear from his eyes, and Luhan agreed.

“I’ve never been to this part of the city before, can you recommend some good places?” Luhan asked, trying to start a conversation.

Sehun thought and answered, “Well, the café I’m taking you to is definitely one of my favorite places, but there’s a few good restaurants as well. But other than that, it’s quite a boring neighborhood” He whispered the last part, “don’t tell anyone I said that, one of my colleagues lives a few streets away from here.”

Luhan chuckled, “Alright I won’t.”

A few short conversations later, they finally arrived at the café. It didn’t look very special, but Luhan thought it must be hiding something if the handsome CEO found it so special.
And as if the CEO could read his thoughts, “Yeah it doesn’t look special but I promise you won’t forget this place.” Sehun opened the door to let the smaller inside.

“I’ll hold you on to that.” The smaller said with a smile and entered.

“Oh it’s been a while Mr. Oh, long time no see!” The cashier who was an older man exclaimed in happiness as he saw the boys entering.
“Yeah, long time no see.” He replied.
“And who’s this, if I may ask?” The cashier looked at Luhan who flushed at the sudden attention. “He is, uh, a friend of mine.” Sehun said, slightly flushed as well, but a different reason than Luhan. Sehun swore he saw the cashier smirk, “Oh very well then, what can I get you?”

After getting their coffee and some cake, the boys were finally seated in front of each other.
It’ll first get awkward when you’re at the café, trust me, Luhan heard his sister say mentally and he couldn’t agree more. And from the looks of it, Sehun thought so too.
How do you start a conversation? Luhan spoke to himself.

“How come you’re not wearing the purple raincoat today, it really suits you.” Sehun joked.
“Thanks, but well it isn’t raining anymore so I don’t really have any more use of it. Besides, it was incredibly embarrassing to wear something so girly.” Luhan said. Sehun looked down at the other’s deer sweater and chuckled. “I guess it was.”

“Anyway,” Sehun continued, “Are you healthy again?” Sehun asked and sipped on the coffee.
Luhan curled his fingers around the warm cup. “Yeah I’m alright now.”

The CEO nodded, “fevers , but I guess it’s difficult to avoid when the weather is changing.”

“Yeah, but I tend to get sick a lot. I have a bad immune system so I get sick very easily.” Luhan said.

Sehun looked shocked, “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. It must be annoying.” Luhan smiled, “It’s fine don’t worry about it.” He said and closed the topic.

“Say, you’re a CEO but you never told be for what company, and I’m curious!” Luhan exclaimed, eating a piece of his chocolate mousse cake – and instantly knew why Sehun loved the place because that cake was so delicious!

“Oh yeah I guess I haven’t. I’m the owner of OSH—“ Luhan choked on the heavenly cake.

“OSH!? But, that means you’re my boss!” his eyes were so wide Sehun thought they were going to pop out. The CEO laughed “Oh my god I haven’t even thought of that! I do remember saying you worked at the mall when we met, why didn’t I think of that?” Sehun laughed while Luhan looked almost terrified.

“Oh my god I’m drinking coffee with my boss” he mumbled.

“Please don’t treat me differently now, I hope we still can remain friends.” Sehun said.

“Yeah I guess it’s not a problem.” Luhan said, rather awkwardly.

“Great! So…” Sehun continued.

“So… Where’s your office?” Luhan asked out of curiosity.

“Well the main office is in Seoul centrum but I have a personal office in every building I own but I’m mostly in the main office.”

“I see. So you have one at the mall as well?” Sehun nodded and took a sip of the hot coffee.
“Yes but I never use it.”

And the talk continued. After opening up to each other it wasn’t as uncomfortable as Luhan had thought it would become. It was quite enjoyable. Sehun was surprisingly easy to talk to, and if Luhan hadn’t known beforehand, he wouldn’t have guessed the other male’s profession.
He also learned quite a bit about the CEO. He was indeed a bit older than Luhan, he had been a CEO since he was twenty-one but he was just as respected as any older CEO. He also learned that the other was an only child and lived alone. And lots of other stuff. Sehun of course also asked about Luhan, but the latter found it slightly awkward since he wasn’t very special or anything (which Sehun highly disagreed on). They even joked around with each other and all in all, they both enjoyed their time together.

After a few hours they decided to finally take the train back. Sehun had gotten a call from work and even though Luhan was a bit sad to leave, he still respected the other’s work. They said their final goodbyes as Sehun entered a very fancy looking car (according to Luhan) and Luhan decided to head home for the day and maybe rest a bit.

But of course, that wouldn’t happen.

“How did it go? Did you kiss? Does he have an expensive car? Did you find out how tall he is!?” Luhan groaned and felt a migraine forming.

Deciding not to deal with his persisting sister, he ran through the house, up the stairs and locked his door right before his sister would be able to catch him.

“Hey open the door I need to know!”

“No, leave me alone. I have a private life too you know?!” he yelled back.

“Oh so you did kiss? Did you do more than that perhaps?” He could almost feel the smirk in his sister’s words.

Kill me now please, Luhan groaned and swore he heard evil laughter from behind his door.
“You will have to tell me sometime, just wait!”

“You’re just jealous because you haven’t been in a relationship for like, six years!” he yelled.

“You little !” Luhan laughed and finally heard his sister’s footsteps, indicating that he could finally rest.

Two months went by quickly. Luhan and Sehun had been working and was too busy to meet, but they messaged each other when they had time. The weather had become much better over the last two months, but the sudden warmth from the sun had Luhan feeling slightly wobbly, not exactly sick but just a bit frail. But it didn’t stop him from going to work.

Waking up that morning was difficult, but he also knew that he couldn’t take any days off since he already had used up all his sick leave days. Getting to work was even more difficult than waking up, he had to run to catch his bus but that only left him completely out of breath and slightly dizzy, this is gonna be a long day… he thought sitting in on the bus. He sighed and rubbed his forehead.

When he arrived at work he immediately knew it was to become a ty day. His normally calm boss was mad because of a mistake made by one of the new workers the day before, thus having to rearrange shelves of shelves of toys correctly. Luhan was so ‘lucky’ to be the one to use his entire work day on rearranging (which was horrible because some of the toys were heavy). But knowing how stressed and mad his boss would become if Luhan didn’t accept it, he decided to just do it.

The day went, and he felt himself getting more tired as the minutes went. He had fifteen shelves to rearrange and halfway through his shift he had only managed to fix six. And his boss wasn’t exactly happy about the slow process.

The doe eyed sat down on the stool he used to reach the taller shelves. He let out a breath and felt a drop of sweat on his temple. He groaned but had no energy to remove it. His looked down to his hands resting in his lap and felt them shake. “Geez Luhan, pull yourself together…” he mumbled.

“Luhan!” he stiffened and got up faster than ever before – quite surprisingly considering his lack of energy.

It was his boss’ voice and he saw the said man walking his way with a not so nice facial expression.

“Yes, sir?” Luhan asked, slightly nervous. He knew what was coming but honestly, he had used the excuse of being sick too many times even if it wasn’t an excuse. His boss was usually quite understanding on his good days, but this day had been far from good and Luhan just happened to be a victim on the wrong day.

“You’ve only managed to fix six shelves and you’re half way through your shift. That’s not good enough Luhan.” Luhan felt the piercing eyes on his and Luhan had never been this scared before.

“I’m sorry boss, but I’m not feeling quite well today, but I swear I’m doing my best!” as Luhan predicted, the ‘excuse’ had been way overused.

“Well your best is not good enough, and please start using another excuse will you! If you don’t want to work here anymore then just quit instead of calling in sick all the time. Now go back to work, you’re not allowed to go home before the rest shelves are finished. I won’t pay you overtime.” Luhan was stunned and slightly angry at the words. It had been very clear in his job application that he had a weak immune system yet here his boss was scolding him and calling it an excuse.

“Sir! You’re not being fair!” Luhan burst out and surprised himself and a few coworkers that had been watching their boss scold him from behind one of the taller shelves.
Luhan had hit a nerve.

“Being fair?” The older man smirked, and Luhan immediately felt very uncomfortable. “Remember I’m the one paying you, not the other way around. I’m the boss, I’m the one making the rules, and if you’re not going to follow them then you might as well leave!” The boss yelled. Luckily for Luhan there were no customers in the store.

But Luhan couldn’t hold himself back even if there were customers, “You’re neglecting the health of one of your employees! You call that being fair?!” Honestly Luhan loved his job. He got to play with children and watching them laugh and having fun almost every day, but this new attitude of his boss pissed him off. It could only be seconds before he was getting fired, but Luhan didn’t care anymore.

“I just told you to stop using that excuse, if it’s pity you want then I suggest you leave this place because I sure won’t give it to you. Now you can either leave by yourself or I’ll fire you, you choose!” Luhan looked flabbergasted, ”you can’t be serious!” Luhan yelled back. “Well I am, now will you leave? You’re fired!”

“Boss!” Luhan exclaimed angrily.

SMACK

“Welcome sir! I’m the executive director of the mall. You can call me Joon.” The young CEO was welcomed by a middle-aged man in a navy suit and a few guards.

Sehun took the other’s hands and greeted the other back. “Oh Sehun. It’s nice to meet you. I’ve been looking forward to meeting you.” Joon laughed and Sehun returned the gesture,

“Well your appearance is much appreciated as well. Let’s show you around, shall we?” He gestured to the mall entrance. The two men and guards went inside, and his tour then started.
Ever since his date with a certain doe eyed boy, he had taken an interest in the mall. Not only because it was a wise investment in the first place, but because the boy worked in the toy store on the fourth floor. He hadn’t been to the mall before (and he hadn’t seen Luhan since their date and he kind of missed the other) so when he got the opportunity to get a tour of the floors and talk more about the investment, he couldn’t refuse.

The two businessmen went around the floors while talking about a few statics and specific stores that happened to be very popular. The customers ignored them for the most part but Sehun did notice a few girls staring at him. But he felt nothing. It was annoying if anything. He just wanted to see Luhan and he knew the boy was working today since they tended to know each other’s schedule.

“let’s go to the fourth floor. We have quite a few hidden gems on this floor. Most of these stores are quite unique and one of a kind. An example is the toy store we have. It’s very popular as the kids are allowed to play with a lot of the newer toys. The workers are really doing a great job in entertaining the kids as well, we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedbacks thanks to them. That’s not surprising me, Sehun smiled to himself. He could easily imagine his Luhan entertaining kids and playing with the small humans.

Moving up the escalators, Sehun found himself growing slightly nervous. Did I choose the right suit? Does this tie suit me? Should I have styled my hair differently? He thought, but his attention went back to the man beside him who kept talking and luckily didn’t notice the slight change of behavior in Sehun.

“Let’s start at the toy store, shall we?” Sehun followed the other and Sehun could barely hide his excitement.

But as they got closer, they started hearing yelling. Sehun and Joon looked confused at one another. The two men and the guards hurried towards the noises which surprisingly came from the toy store.

The voices started to get louder and they started to hear the loud conversation.

“I just told you to stop using that excuse, if it’s pity you want then I suggest you leave this place because I sure won’t give it to you. Now you can either leave by yourself or I’ll fire you, you choose!”

”you can’t be serious!”

“Well I am, now will you leave? You’re fired!”

“Boss!”

Upon arriving at the entrance, Sehun and the others was flabbergasted as they watched as a middle-aged man slapped Luhan.

Sehun felt his blood boil.

“What is going on here!?” It was the executive director beside him who was the first to burst. Sehun directed his attention to Luhan. The younger boy was holding his red cheek and Sehun noticed how tears had started to form in the youngers doe like eyes.

“Luhan, are you okay?” Sehun gently held the youngers shoulders to get a better look at him. Luhan looked up and the tears started cascading down his cheeks. “Sehun…” The younger didn’t even care that the executive director was standing a few meters from him and went in to hug the taller man standing in front of him.

“Sehun!” The sounds came out muffled, but Sehun clearly heard how shaky the younger’s voice was. Sehun hugged the other back, and let his attention divert towards Joon who was taking care of the very angry boss.

“Your actions towards your employees are highly unacceptable!”

“Listen, that boy keeps calling in sick and does half assed work! I don’t need someone like that in my store!”

“First of all, this store does not belong to you, but the mall and investors! Second of all, Luhan over there is one of the most hard working employees in the entire mall, and has special permissions regarding his contract which clearly states his health situation. You not being aware of this clearly shows that you do not care about your employees enough to read their contracts. Mr. Jang, I need you to pack your stuff and leave this mall immediately. You’re fired.” Sehun felt proud. If the executive director knew an employee, it usually meant that they leave a good impression and doe their work well.

‘Mr. Jang’ was shocked, and angry. He was silent for a while, but he suddenly seemed to be fuming.

“This is ALL your fault, you selfish little prick!” The man exploded and stomped towards Luhan who was watching the situation in utter panic.

The man didn’t get far though. Before he could step closer to Luhan, the guards were in front of him and had tight hold on the man.

“Please show Mr. Jang to the exit.” The executive director said.

Looking down at the younger boy again, Sehun frowned. “Luhan?” The younger boy didn’t look up. He noticed how tired the smaller looked all of a sudden and gently held the younger’s cheek. His eyes were dazed and Sehun already knew what was going to happen.

The boy mumbled a “Everything is blurry, Sehun…” before closing his eyes and felt strong arms embracing his body, and everything went black.

“Luhan!”

Luhan woke up with a slight headache. As soon as he opened his eyes he closed them again because of the light. He groaned and felt a needle on his right arm.

After getting used to the light, he looked around. I’m in the hospital? I don’t remember how I got here… He thought. The door to his private room opened, and Sehun stepped in.

“Sehun?” Luhan asked slightly confused at the other’s appearance.

“Oh, you’re awake!” Sehun had brought a can of water and a few plastic mugs. The older sat down on a chair beside the bed and poured a cup of water to give to the younger.

“Drink this.” The younger complied.

Luhan emptied the cup and looked at the older who smiled.

“What happened?” Luhan asked.

“You fainted because of low blood pressure. Luckily it wasn’t life threatening, but you’ve been out for quite a while. You really scared us.” Sehun told, and Luhan didn’t seem surprised.

“Oh… I remember. I got fired.” He mumbled and looked out of the window.

Sehun sighed, “You did. But I have some good news.” Luhan looked back at the other his expression full of interest.

“Good news? What is it?” Sehun couldn’t help but chuckle and move closer to the bed. He reached his hands out and slightly squished the other’s cheeks which was greeted with an unrecognizable pout from the younger.

“Well, thanks to me and Mr. Joon, we’ve agreed to give you the job of your last boss. You’re now in charge of the store.”

Luhan kept silent but his eyes were widened.

“W-What…” He mumbled, eyes still focused on Sehun’s.

Sehun chuckled and reached into his briefcase that rested against his chair. He pulled out a bundle of papers and handled it to the boy.

“What’s this?” Luhan asked curiously.
“It’s the contract. It contains all the information you need regarding the new position.” Sehun answered.

A few moments of silence engulfed them. Luhan read over the pages, but Sehun noticed the lack of enthusiasm in the younger boy.

“Luhan,” Sehun, with gentle hands, gently grabbed the younger’s chin and turned his eyes towards Sehun’s own.
“What’s wrong?” Sehun asked.

“I just don’t feel like I deserve this much attention. You’re doing so much for me, but I haven’t done anything for you.” Luhan mumbled.

Sehun smiled and moved closer to the hospital bed. Luhan felt his cheek blushing at the close contact. Sehun gently brushed over the other’s red cheeks with his thumb.

“Luhan. Your presence and adorable personality is more than enough to make me happy.” Sehun couldn’t help but smile even wider when he saw Luhan’s red face and suddenly shy expression.

“S-Sehun…”

“I know this sounds weird considering how little we know each other, but I really like you. I find myself thinking about you all the time and it’s making me insane. I know I sound crazy, but I can’t hide it anymore!” Sehun confessed.

Luhan didn’t know how to react to the sudden confession. So much was happening at once it almost made him dizzy. But a good kind of dizzy, he noticed.

“Sehun?” The said man looked into Luhan’s eyes, his heart hammering in his chest.
Suddenly Luhan caught the CEO of guard and cupped his cheeks.

“I like you too.” Sehun’s eyes widened as he hadn’t expected the other to feel the same. He opened his mouth to say something but couldn’t do so as soft plump lips crashed against his own.

Closing his eyes, he enjoyed the very first kiss from a very special person.

Sehun was in love. There was no doubt.

With a new job comes new responsibilities, Luhan knew that much.
After news about the incident at the toy story had spread, everyone was finally looking forward to work. Even though the last boss had been a nice man – most of the times, he still had such a bad temperament that if one were to screw up, they would almost fear for their lives.

Luhan was the complete opposite. He was a serious worker and wanted things to be done right, but he didn’t slaughter if one were to make a mistake. He would teach that person how to do to it correctly. And he would do it with a smile.

The store had more customers than usual, and Luhan was so happy to be a part of it.
The new position was difficult at times. He couldn’t always be at work because of his health, but luckily his subordinates were able to take care of everything when he wasn’t there.

“Excuse me?” Sehun asked one of the employees of the toy store. The woman looked towards the voice and found the CEO. She smiled and bowed, “Luhan is in his office today, sir. We were told not to disturb.” Sehun smirked.

“Did he? We’ll see about that.” He thanked the woman and went towards the door with the sign that said “Staff only”.

Behind the door was a big storage room and toilets and stuff, but beyond that was a door that lead to a big hallway that connected all the stores on the floor. Along the hallway was more doors that were offices. Each shop has an office for the head of the store and a small meeting room for the employees.

Sehun stood in front of one of the offices. “’Do not disturb’” Sehun read and smirked. He silently opened the door and closed it again.

I knew it… He thought as he found the person he was looking for. There on the couch facing the city of Seoul, was Luhan. Completely asleep.

Sehun released a sigh. “What am I going to do with you, little lamb?” He sat down on the low coffee table in front of the couch and observed his sleeping boyfriend. Sehun always wondered how he was able to have the most beautiful person in the world as a boyfriend. It couldn’t just be pure luck. Normally he wasn’t much of a believer in tales or supernatural stuff, but he sincerely believed that it was fate for the two of them too meet. They barely argued and had a healthy and strong relationship. And despite Sehun’s role as a CEO he always made sure to make to see his beloved one even during work hours.

A grunting sound made him come back from his thoughts. Luhan was trying to move around on the small couch but failed to do so as the couch was too small. A pout was formed on the lips and Sehun couldn’t help but smile even wider at the adorable sight.

He gently caressed the sleeping boy’s soft cheeks, noticing how the pout slowly disappeared after meeting the warmth of Sehun’s hands. Sehun moved his thumb towards the soft lips and felt a sudden urge to kiss them.

“Mmmm….” Sehun moved his hands back and smiled at the sight before him.

“Sehun?” Luhan’s sleep filled voice asked. Sehun let out a laugh.

“You do know that sleeping on the job isn’t allowed, right?” Luhan looked up at the handsome face and pouted. “I raised the sales of the store more in two months than the last head of the store did in two years, and this is what you tell me? What are you gonna do about it?” Luhan smiled. He still hadn’t moved from his position on the couch.

“I’m going to punish you!” He said and started to attack the younger boy with tickles.
Laughter broke out and filled the entire room.

“S-Stoop, Sehun! It tickles!” Luhan laughed.

“It’s supposed to!” Sehun said but suddenly stopped his actions. Luhan was laying on his stomach and looked around only to find his boyfriend right above him. Luhan turned around and wiggles his arms around the other’s neck to move him down and meet him in a kiss.

“I love you so much.” Sehun said.

“Me too. I love you.” Luhan replied.

“To image that we are here know because of a purple raincoat”

….

“You seriously had to bring that up again Sehun?”

Had Luhan known that the hideous raincoat would result in getting to know the tall and handsome CEO, he would’ve chosen it without a fuss.
