A Dragon Among Men
Description
The General of the Song Army is dead. A bloody war rages between the humans and the fae. The General’s brother and only surviving son of the Song family must take command to protect the empire—except Song Dal isn’t a son at all.
Foreword

“The General’s body was not recovered.”
Dal in a sharp breath. Her fists clench, eyes fluttering shut as she composes herself. She knows better than to feel hope.
“The Emperor has already been informed?” Dal asks the obvious, opening her eyes to look squarely at Suho. His face is contorted into poorly masked pity.
“You will receive a Royal Decree soon.” He answers, not looking away under the weight of her gaze. “We will ride out to the main camp within the fortnight. It will give you time to wrap up the coastal affairs.”
“Well spoken, Strategist Kim.”
Suho lets slip a rueful smile, rubbing the back of his neck.
“My pleasure, General Song.”
With a humorless laugh Dal leans back in her chair.
General Song.
She supposes she’ll have to get used to that.

A/N: I've had this idea forever—it's set in the same world as A Quiet Rage, and is in a way a companion piece (but you will still be able to understand the story without reading it). I've never written a story with an OC before so bear with me!
