The Beginning

Halfblood | Sehun

Kai, Sehun and another demon teleported in the middle of the road. They ran towards us.

"Is this the halfblood?" The demon I didn't know asked and Suho nodded. I was seeing more demons in these two days than in the past 19 years of my life.

I introduced myself to the demon. He smiled and slightly bowed to me. Again, a demon that didn't seem dangerous at all, but they all had such a strong aura. I got to know that his name is Jongdae, but he preferred to be called Chen.

Sehun was the next to speak. "We've discussed about some things in the Base, Suho, as the leader we need your opinion and sorry for leaving you behind to protect her, but we were right, you were the best for this job." Suho smiled a little bit. "Anyway," Sehun continued "they know about her. Not only demons, the royalties too. We can't let her stay anymore with humans, they'll soon send a notice to find her. We must at least train her." Everybody listened carefully. They all looked at Suho for a response. He was very serious now.

They weren't telling me everything again. I still didn't have any idea to why so many people were after me and why Sehun and the others are helping me. But when I tried to speak, Sehun coldly told me this wasn't the place nor the time to know that. I got quiet pissed because of that.

I decided to leave them to their discussion to walk a bit alone, I felt observed all the time with them and I finally had a chance to move by myself. They didn't even notice me going away. I walked towards the main street again. There were many people now, the life of the city had begun.

I made the wrong decision.

I was watching what an old lady was selling when I felt someone grabbing my wrist. It was a royal guard.

They were already after me, nice.

He started to pull me. "I can't believe the prince knew that you'd hide here in Perys." He lowly stated. The prince must be clever then, he thought about our plan.

I didn't want to make a fuss in front of many people, but the guard was so rude I had to rethink about it. The citizens will be clever enough to run away.

I 'blew' at his hand, the one holding my wrist. He had the normal sudden reaction to remove his hand from there because of the sudden hot breeze. The prince could be clever, but his guards weren't. Wearing gloves could have saved him.

He didn't even have time to understand what was going on when I punched him to the only other spot where he didn't have any armor on. His face. I must say he wasn't really a beauty, so I didn't feel sorry at all.

Au revoir, my friend.

I ran as fast as I could to Sehun and the others. Thankfully, they were still there. "A royal guard just found me, we should go away!" I shouted while running towards them.

"What?" They all looked at me in disbelief.
"Why didn't you stay here?" Sehun angrily yelled at me.
"Because I felt like I wasn't needed here." I was honest.

Before they could tell me anything else we heard a bunch of steps... heavy steps coming in our direction. We didn't have time to hide ourselves so we just prepared to fight.

They arrived sooner than expected and they seemed pretty skilled. They were royal guards, soldiers afterall. Maybe they weren't all stupid like the one who found me. They were a group of twenty people while we were only six.

"Give us the halfblood." One of them spoke.

Sehun suddenly grabbed my arm and started walking towards them while pulling me with him. I couldn't get out of his grip even though I tried to oppose to him. I was shocked when I heard him talk.

"Sure, don't worry, I will" We were in front of the guard now, he was reaching out for me "..but not right now."

Sehun finished his sentence and strong wind started to blow, making the guard in front of us fall to the ground. With all that wind on the soldiers, they didn't see or hear much.

"I didn't expect them to be so many just for a halfblood and how did they think about Suho's plan?" Sehun was talking to the others behind us.

"It was the prince. He told them to come here." I told them. "It's always him. Can't he just mind his own business? He probably knew we were with you." I heard Chen shouting behind me.

"I'm afraid others will arrive soon. We should run away, after obviously putting on a little fight, I don't want to look weak." Sehun was the one talking. I rolled my eyes, he still wanted to look like a cool demon or something.

Suho spoke next. "I agree with Sehun, we are demons afterall. Lay, Chen, Kai?" They all agreed too. Nobody cared if I agreed though.

"What about Nayla?" Bless you, Lay.

Sadly, I couldn't answer.
One of the guards managed to come really close to us with a sword in his hands. He was attacking Sehun.

When I realized it, it was too late. His thick blade wounded Sehun's shoulder, but he moved in time before he could do much more demage. "You're a demon, it will heal soon" I tried to reassure him while I kicked away the guard from him. "No, it won't" I heard him say.

I noticed something strange, too. These swords didn't look like normal ones. They were all red. I couldn't tell what were they made of. I've been so many years in the Crafting Room and I've never seen or fabricated a sword like that.

I was fighting with the guard that wounded Sehun, when I heard Suho talking to me. "Go with Kai, he'll teleport you to the Base. He can take only two people with him at a time, so please, go."

I looked at the others.

Lay had two guards against him. Suho was using his power against the soldiers, water was coming out of nowhere and roughly making them fall to the ground because of the impact. Chen wasn't using his power at all, so I still didn't know what it actually was. But something I noticed was actually the fact that they didn't want to kill any of these people.

Sehun was fighting with five guards, even though he was wounded. It made me feel so sorry. I wanted to help him, he needed to go to the Base more than me. "Sehun, come with me and Kai" I shouted.

"I can't leave the others here. I'm one of the strongest. Without me, they'll be in trouble." He shouted back.

Kai managed to beat the three demons he was fighting and he ran to me. I defeated the other guard in the meantime. He was laying unconscious on the ground.

Kai took my hand. "We need Lay, we can't lose him here." He told me. I guess Lay's healing power was really important.

We went towards Lay, but my gaze followed Sehun. He had defeated three of the guards, but other four were now against him as well.

We reached Lay. Kai grabbed his arm to take us away from here. He instantly tried to teleport us. As I was watching Sehun, my sight started to get dizzy, I was slowly going away.

But then, I saw one of the guards on the ground get up and cowardly attack him from behind.

Sehun's back was wounded too now.

After I roughly pulled away my hand from Kai's, my sight came back to normal.

I couldn't help it, I started to run in Sehun's direction to help him. The others were too busy fighting to go.

Kai and Lay disappeared while I was left behind. I standed next to Sehun now.

"I can't believe this." He shook his head while he was dodging the continuous attacks of the royal guards.
"We need to go, you're injured." I managed to kick one of the soldiers and make him fall.

"You're an idiot." He groaned. "You should've been safe in the Base right now."

A cold and strong wind was blowing once again. Sehun took my hand and told the others to run away, we wasted too much time here.

We somehow got through the guards, mostly because Sehun wasn't affected by the wind and neither was I. Well, he was the one creating it. Sehun's power was wind, obviously.

I looked back for a moment to see how Chen and Suho were doing, but I saw Kai reapper instead and saving them.

Sehun and I ran past the main street and hid ourselves in a creepy small street. There was a door there, perfect for us to hide because it made a little bit of space in the wall. We were against the door, trying to make us invisible as possible. We were both thin enough not to leak out.

Sehun was still holding my hand. He was sweating a lot, I noticed. He surely was special, he was badly hurt and even after all that fighting and running, he didn't complain, not even once. I could hear him catching his breath though.

I turned my head to see him. He did the same when he realized I was observing him. Our eyes met.

None of us spoke, we just awkwardly stared at each other.

I slowly moved my free hand to his shoulder where one of the guards hurt him. His shirt was cut there, I could perfectly see his wound. It was bleeding so much and it seemed really bad. Even though his clothes are black, it was pretty obvious that he was soaked in blood.

If I saw his back maybe I'd be even more shocked, just a few moments ago one of the guards hurt him so cowardly. I really didn't understand why they were going through so much just for me.

We heard steps rushing in the main street. They were soon gone. I pulled away my hand from his grip, we were safe for now.

I tore off a piece of my sleeve to wrap his wound.

I slowly wrapped it up as best as I could while he was simply watching me. My fingers were still laying on the piece of cloth after I finished.

He placed his hand on mine.

I looked at him, but there wasn't really a change of expression on his face. He was still just blankly staring at me.

He took my hands and pulled them closer to his lips. I was frozen. I didn't know how to react.

He smirked. "Your hands smell. How long haven't you washed yourself?"

I'll correct myself. He wasn't pulling my hands closer to his lips, but to his nose.

"That was mean." I rolled my eyes.

He rose up an eyebrow. "Oh, what were you thin-"

The door behind us opened.
