Leandra was surprised at how excited she was to find out that the new hires would be having an early meeting with the owner of the Empyrean. With any other job, she couldn’t have cared less about meeting the owner of a restaurant or store chain, no matter how big it was, but the owner of something as amazing and extravagant as the Empyrean, with its Opal Lounge and handsome patrons, was someone worth meeting; she wanted to see the mastermind behind such an oasis.   She caught another ride with Ehrielle to the meeting, making a note to herself to start seriously looking for a cheap car once her checks began coming in. Ehrielle didn’t mind, though, and for that Leandra was grateful; they went together back to the Empyrean, which looked almost as awe inspiring in daylight as it did at night. The meeting was to be held in one of the large boardrooms, which was the only space big enough to hold all of the employees that had been hired recently; the two women sat together near one of the heads of the table, talking quietly to one another as they waited for time to pass. The meeting time came, and like clockwork the boardroom door opened, silencing the room and drawing Leandra’s attention. Her eyes widened at the sight of the handsome Empyrean regular – or, at least, she had thought that he had been a regular – entering the room in a blue, white pinstriped button down, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and black pants, one of his hands hidden in his pocket.
