Man in the Shadow
ChasedWhen Myungsoo looked back at the table where all of s and himself sat, emptiness greeted him. Instead, there was a book opened on the table. A gleaming light surrounded the mysterious object, making it looked ethereal, in addition to the infinity symbol glowing just above the said item. However, Myungsoo did not have a long time to observe the book closer since he was suddenly tackled by someone to the bed inside the room. His bruised back hit the mattress quite hard, but he did not feel any pain.
The figure that ambushed him continued to try to hit him, as if preventing him from moving. Myungsoo tried his best to hold the other guy, slowly recognizing the familiar face that was hovering above his own face. Lee Howon. Or better known as Hoya. Hoya was a member of his team, the strongest person Myungsoo had ever met. He looked calm at first, fierce in a battle, but a loving person during their leisure time. Myungsoo then remembered what his leader had said before disappearing, ‘You’ll meet the others’. He was glad that the others meant the other members of the team, which meant he could see them all at least one more time. The only thing bothering him was Hoya’s current action which was trying to kill him.
“You won’t be able to get away with this. I swear I will kill you, even if it cost me my life.” Hoya gritted his teeth, his eyes wild and full of anger. “Hoya-hyung. This is me, Myungsoo, L.” Myungsoo said in a small whisper, trying to make the older aware of his identity, while using his remaining strength to keep Hoya from killing him. Hoya’s angry eyes were gradually becoming softer as the older processed Myungsoo’s words. Myungsoo could feel the grip on his neck weaken and he finally could breathe properly again. Before Hoya could attack him again, Myungsoo quickly reversed the situation and pushed Hoya to the bed.
“Why did you attack me, hyung?” Myungsoo asked, confused about the latter’s action. Hoya also had the same confused look on his face, his eyes scanning Myungsoo’s face.
“You looked a lot like him. I’m sorry I did not recognize you. I had to stay aware to protect the others.” Hoya said, a tired small smile appeared on his hard expression. “I’m glad you’re fine, L.”
“Him? Who?” Myungsoo had absolutely no idea about what Hoya just said. He felt like an idiot in this place even when he had only encountered two of his teammates.
“The person who did this to us. The only person vicious enough to kill his own family without sparing a glance. Maybe you don’t remember it, but you need to remember. You have to finish this, or our death will mean nothing.” Hoya said with a disgusted expression painted on his face, his words filled with hate enough to kill a person. Myungsoo thought about the person Hoya just mentioned, and an idea, which truly horrified him, passed his mind. The only per
