Chapter 2

Because you resemble the sky, you are dazzling

Because you're like a child, you're so cute

Because you're like ice cream, I'm nervous that you might disappear

Alice wasn't immediately welcomed by everyone in Wonderland.

The yuki-onna wasn't very happy when she found out that Momo and Dahyun made contact with their intruder. Did they forget what could happen? What had almost happened? How they were stuck in their situation in the first place...

"We're sorry we broke the rule, unnie. We know we're not supposed to interact with anyone from outside of the house."

"But Soo-chan saw us! Heard us! And she was so nice to us..."

It only took one day for Dahyun and Momo to become smitten with their orange-haired friend. And already they were itching to see her again, more so for the fairy who felt tingly and happy in her presence.

"Soo-chan? You already gave her a nickname."

"Not on purpose... it slipped out and it stuck. It fits Sookie." Momo mumbled sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"It doesn't matter, avoid being seen or heard by her from now on." They couldn't get attached and make the same mistake again.

"But Sookie already told us that she was coming over today to play with us." Dahyun looked put out at the thought of avoiding her new friend.

"She plays the piano so good. And she can sing too! You like music too!"

"That was her on the piano yesterday?" She had thought that it was the stupid house messing with them. She had found herself pulled in by the music, it called out to her, bringing up familiar feelings of yearning, loneliness, not feeling good enough...

"Mmhmm! Is it so bad to have a new friend visit sometime?"

"Unnie should let everyone meet her, get a feel for her." Then they'll see how likeable Sookie was and they'd get to keep their new friend.

"It's not a bad idea." The red devil who had been silent up til now, spoke up. "We're all good judges of character, right? We'll check out this Sookie, see if she's a good sort."

"If she isn't, then we'll make sure she can't come back again. Sound good, leader?" The Pinocchio puppet looked up at the yuki-onna.

Against her better judgement, the yuki-onna agreed, making the rabbit and fairy cheer.

She wondered why the song this Sookie played yesterday resonated with her so much. How someone else had the same feelings of loneliness, yearning, and self-worth she had at times...

The others were more than surprised when their leader said that they'd be greeting their intruder when she came over.

"Wait, she can see us? Hear us?"

"Yep, ask Dahyun and Momo about it."

"Sookie's really cool! She played piano for us yesterday."

"And Soo-chan's voice is so pretty!"

The vampire rolled her eyes. Of course their orange-haired idiot would be attracted to the other one.

Momo had suggested that they line up and pop out one by one with a cute pose when Sookie arrived. Her idea was unanimously vetoed.

Who did she think they were? A girl group in a music video?<
