Chanyeol arrived at the bus stop and looked down at his watch. He should be here in about 2 minutes, he thought. He was referring to his long time crush, Baekhyun. Ever since he met the boy when he started his first day of high school a few years back he had fallen for him. 

He had arrived at the bus stop 10 minutes early, afraid of missing the bus, then 2 minutes later a boy, also a high school freshman, was balancing a pile of new school books in his arms. His bus arrived and as he was going to get onto the bus, he got bumped by all the other students which led to the books tumbling out of his arms. He quickly started picking up all the books and looking alarmed as the bus was about to take off. Chanyeol crouched down and helped him pick up his books before stopping the bus for him. The boy looked up at him with a grateful smile and thanked him. Chanyeol couldn’t say a single word as he was so stunned by how adorable and puppy-like he looked.

‘Hey Baekhyun! Over here!’ someone called the boy over. Chanyeol watched as the boy stepped on to the bus and went over to his friends and sat in the seat by the window. Chanyeol waited and wished for him to look out at him, but he didn’t, and just like that the bus left. He watched as it rounded the corner and vanished from his sight. Baekhyun. What a cute name, he thought with a dazed smile and far-off look upon his face. 

Chanyeol was now a senior in his last year of high school and today was the first day of the school year. Since that day he had only ever watched Baekhyun from afar but he told himself that this year was going to be different. This year he was going to talk to him and finally tell him how he feels…or at least say ‘hi’.

At that moment he saw Baekhyun walk over and stopped only a few steps away to wait for his bus that would arrive at any moment. He turned to face Baekhyun, who didn’t even notice him, and opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. He was frozen. Say something! his thoughts screamed. Anything! If you don’t say anything now, you’ll miss your chance. This thought gave him some courage, ‘i-‘ and that was the only word that was said as the bus arrived and Baekhyun rushed onto it. He watched the boy sit in the same seat by the window and hoped that he would look out and notice him, but of course Baekhyun didn’t, then watched as the bus left. Good job, you let him go…AGAIN! Chanyeol sighed. ‘But tomorrow’s a new day’ he said to himself for encouragement.
