“Thank you so much for giving me a ride home,” I express my grateful one more time after we both slip inside his car. Jin laughs it off and he teases me if I’m going to say ‘thank you’ every ten minutes because that’s what I’ve been doing ever since he says he would give me a ride.

“My stomach is growling. Do you mind accompany me to have dinner?” he asks, glancing to my way for a second before eyes focus back on the road.

After he has nicely offered me a ride? How could I say ‘no’?

I see that the corner of his lips tug wider upon hearing my answer and says, “Great. Do you know any good place around your place?” Then, I tell him about a restaurant which my family loves to go whenever my mother is too lazy to cook. He thinks that it sounds great and decides that we will have our meals there.

I silently sigh in relief when he tastes the food and he actually loves them. I was having a little anxiety because what if he doesn’t like it? I have already troubled him to take me home and then I recommend him food that he doesn’t like? I can’t live with the guilt and cringe at the thought.

We finish our meals in thirty minutes or so before we slip back into his car. Before he could start the engine, I reach out my hand. He furrows his brows, staring at my hands in confusion. I ask for the receipt so that I could pay my share, I tell him.

“No, no, it’s my treat.”
