Chapter 4

"J-Jiyong..." Taeyeon held his arm, almost pleading.

"We can do this, Taeyeon."

"J-Ji, there was no..." she was close in telling him the truth but Jiyong kept on interrupting her. 

"I will never leave you. Believe me when I say I'll stay."

He tucked the strands of her hair at the back of her ears and planted a long sweet kiss on her crown. 

"Jiyong, it's not like that. I never said I was..."

Jiyong's facial expression turned perplexed. Sensing that Taeyeon has something to say, he anticipated her next words although he was apprehensive. He felt a strange feeling that she's going to drop something unpleasant. 

And so she did.

"I'm..., t...t-there was no baby!"

Jiyong was dumbfounded, unable to move.

Did I hear it right?

"You're what?" 

"I'm not p-pregnant."

"What are you talking about? I saw the PTs and they're two lines."

"P-Please forgive me, Jiyong."

"I don't... I don't understand, T... Taeyeon. WHAT DID YOU DO???!!!"

"..."

"I'm asking you! What have you done?!"

She knew the real answer very well, but she came to the point of keeping it forever. For her, Jiyong doesn't need to know it. He just doesn't need to. 

"The baby. . . The baby is g-g-gone."

"GONE?!"

"I... It was an a-accident. Please forgive me! I didn't mean–"

"WHAT THE HAPPENED?!"

Jiyong was filled with rage and his question made her to be stupefied that she couldn't think of any reason. It took her a one long minute to even say a word. And she finally came up with her fabricated lie:

 
"I was s-stupid. I slipped in the bathroom and suddenly, there was blood flowing down in my legs. Jiyong, I got s... s-scared. It was alarming yet I didn't do anything. I'm sorry I didn't know what to do—" she tugged on his shirt and wetted it with her tears— "After I recovered myself and was able to think properly, I immediately went to a doctor and he confirmed it. . . That I lost our b...ba
