Title: A mistake made turned into an agony of the lifetime

Jonghyun walks aimlessly on the big and empty streets right after work. It’s already 11pm and it’s getting quiet out there. All he wants to do is to get home and get a good rest before the next work day comes.

The raindrops fall mercilessly down out of the sudden, making Jonghyun curses about the bad weather under his breath. He fumbles for an umbrella in his backpack and realizes he has left it in his office. Jonghyun knows he has to walk another 15 minutes to reach home and he has no choice but to look for a nearest shelter to wait for the rain to stop. He sees a 24hour café nearby and he runs towards it after making up his mind to drink a cup of hot cappuccino while waiting for the rain to stop.

There is a long queue at the cashier counter. Jonghyun grunts, as he hates to wait, for he is an impatient person.

“Jonghyun hyung?”

Jonghyun turns his head and gasps. He sees his old flame standing right behind him. That old flame whom he misses the most and loves the most.

“Omo, you are Jonghyun hyung!” Minho clasps his hands gleefully and smiles so brightly that it hurts Jonghyun’s eyes. “Let’s sit together and catch up!”

Minho still looks the same like two years before. Just that his hair is more curly and brownish now, probably due to perms and dyes. He is still looking handsome and charming, that is for sure.

Jonghyun stares at his coffee intently, waiting for Minho to come back with his coffee and cakes. It has been two years, yes, but the feelings have not changed. Even though he was the one who wanted to break up with Minho back then, he still could not get over him. His heart still yearns for Minho, he knows it, but his pride dotes no allow him to say out.  He is regretful for not salvaging his relationship with Minho and isn’t it too late to say anything now?

“Hyung, let’s eat,” Minho places a slice of cheesecake in front of Jonghyun. “I remember this is your favourite.”

Jonghyun looks at the cheesecake and then at Minho, surprised, “You still remember?”

“Haha yes,” Minho scratches his head and smiles sheepishly, “I vividly remember that you like to add strawberries on top of your cake.”

Jonghyun nods and gives a small smile.
