Chapter 2
Love Will Find You“So is this the last box?”
“Yes. Yeong Ji, dear. It’s the last box. And do be careful. All of this is my precious fo – ah – ah – ah – CRASH –––––––––––– food.”
Yeong Ji put down the box she was holding and rushed to inspect the damage caused by Ha In’s classic fall in the kitchen. She shook her head upon seeing the mess on the floor.
“Remind me again why Ms. Capable isn’t Ms. Perfect yet?”
Ha In, who was sitting on the floor in the middle of the whole mess, rolled her eyes at her cousin’s teasing words.
“Cuz I have yet to master full control over my own limbs.” She mumbled out her response. Contrary to popular belief, Go Ha In had more flaws than what most people would expect her to have. Clumsiness was conveniently one of them. But apparently, most people didn’t stick around long enough to find that out.
Letting out a sigh, Yeong Ji helped her cousin up and proceeded to save what was remaining of the food and clean up the floor.
“Are you sure you wanna live by yourself? Because I can already picture you starving yourself to death.”
“Oh, please. I might not be a great cook. But I can make decent food for myself.”
“Which involves a lot of food spillings, finger cuttings and burnings, yeah.”
“And that’s why my mom sent me all this food that’s enough to last a whole month…..but I went and spilled almost half of it…ah – ha – ah eomma!!!!!!” And so the thought of wasting food got Go Ha In shamelessly crying and stomping the kitchen floor.
Yeong Ji chuckled at her dear cousin’s ability to start screaming and kicking on demand. It was a talent that could put five-year-olds to shame.
“Alright. Stop whining. I’ll make dinner tonight. Come to my place when you’re ready.”
“Ok. Make sure you put in lots of meat.” And she recovered quick. “And not too much vegetable. Specifically, no onions, no tomatoes, no broccoli. And oh, don’t make it too spicy or too sweet or –”
“Cut down the bossiness, Missy. I know what you hate.”
“Yes, Ma’am. I’ll come over in an hour.” Ha In grinned cheekily and waved goodbye to her cousin.
“Alright. I’m taking off then.” But before leaving, Yeong Ji turned around and looked at Ha In with a serious look in her eyes. “Are you sure you don’t wanna live with me?”
“I’ll be fine, Yeong Ji-ah. I just need some space for myself. Plus, we’re only 2 floors a part now. If anything, I can always run to you.” And nodding to that, Yeong Ji finally left.
In all actuality, though, the one who needed space was Yeong Ji. She may be excited about the thought of living together now, but soon she would grow to hate not having her desired amount of space and time to herself. They may be close, and Yeong Ji may be fun to be around, but it didn’t mean being together 24/7. Three days a week was probably her limit in dealing with the same person face to face. Best friends or not.
Now, it wasn’t like Ha In and Yeong Ji had never fought before. They bickered just as much as any other relatives. Sometimes there even were some hair-pullings involved. But whether or not Yeong Ji realized this, Ha In had always taken notice of this specific characteristic
