Taehyung had finally arrived on set for first time since shooting began. He had heard rumours from several staff members about Sooyoung and Jungkook’s relationship evolving from fiery to playful in a matter of weeks. It was speculated by some that there was more than a professional relationship between Sooyoung and Jungkook., but Taehyung had recently seen Yeri at a promotional event and she spoke of Jungkook as though they were still together. So, Taehyung was curious to see that state of Sooyoung and Jungkook’s working relationship and if that translated into a romantic relationship.

Jungkook and Taehyung did not have many scenes together, however when Taehyung and Sooyoung acted together, Taehyung could feel Jungkook’s steely glare on him. If looks could kill, Taehyung was sure that he would have been stabbed to death by all the daggers Jungkook was throwing at him. When Taehyung was not needed for filming, he would still observe the other actors from behind the camera. He could see the honey dripping from Jungkook whenever he was looking at Sooyoung, whilst Sooyoung would smile to herself whenever her gaze fell upon Jungkook.

As the days went by, Taehyung continued his careful observation of Sooyooung and Jungkook’s relationship. Unbeknownst to the two, Taehyung had c0me to the realisation that after the filming was finished for the day, Sooyoung and Jungkook would be in their own world as they would sneak into Sooyoung’s trailer. After his suspicions were finally confirmed, Taehyung continued his investigation and concluded that if others were to deeply study Sooyoung and Jungkook, their romantic elationship was blatantly obvious. Although the three young stars’ friendship was rocky at the start, they were able to bond through their shared breaks and their closeness grew simultaneously. The filming was coming to an end, they all felt a sense of accomplishment but the mood was also quite sombre, they did not want to say their goodbyes but there was no other choice.  Luckily enough, Sooyoung and Taehyung were just casted opposite each other in a college romance drama, on the other hand, Jungkook’s schedule was packed with his idol activities until the promotional tour for the movie. Sooyoung knew that her and Jungkook needed to have a talk before they went their separate ways to see where they stood with each other.

It was the last day of filming, Sooyoung and Jungkook had yet again spent the night together. Jungkook quietly slipped out Sooyoung’s bed, making sure to not wake her. He stared at Sooyoung for a few minutes, taking in her ethereal beauty and memorising the structure of her face. Jungkook was infatuated with Sooyoung and his hunger to know everything about her grew with every day; even though Jungkook was tempted to continue their illicit affair, he had recently gotten in contact with Yeri again. No matter how alluring and forbidden Sooyoung was, with Yeri there was a sense of comfort and consistency. Yeri was always a safe choice for Jungkook and they already had so much history together, was he really ready to leave that all behind for a relationship that has been, for the most part, physical? Jungkook had to make a choice, with either option ending in heartbreak for one of the girls, he was having a crisis. Did he choose stability or uncertainty? Jungkook silently left Sooyoung’s trailer without a second glance back, he had made his decision and he had to stick with it. It would be better for all of them.

Sooyoung had not been able to spend a private moment alone with Jungkook all day. She had woken up this morning to an empty bed for the first time in months, Sooyoung knew that she had to speak with Jungkook before they went their separate ways. Taehyung continued his observation of Jungkook and Sooyoung but he quickly noticed that something was off. Sooyoung would stare at Jungkook longingly, oblivious to the fact that Jungkook was avoiding her. Taehyung could already foresee the heartbreak that was going to ensue and he could only wish to be able to prevent it from occurring, but alas, he could not. All Taehyung could do was wait for it to happen and be there to pick up the pieces of the soon-to-be broken Sooyoung.

The last scene had been filmed and it was time to wrap up on set. Sooyoung realising that this would be the best time to approach Jungkook, followed Jungkook to his trailer. Before he could enter his trailer, Sooyoung apprehensively called out to him.

“Jungkook-ah, can we talk?”

Jungkook stood frozen in front of his door, not wanting to look at Sooyoung. He knew that if he were to look into her pure eyes, he would cave; so, he continued to stare at the door as he replied harshly, “what do you want to talk about?”

Sooyoung had a bad feeling about how this conversation would unravel, but still, she persevered, knowing that they had to have this talk.

“Well about us…”

“What about us?” Jungkook scoffed as he replied. Jungkook knew that he had to be cold-hearted, it was better for them both.

Sooyoung was shocked, what happened to her sweet and caring Jungkook? Why was he suddenly acting so distant? “Um… so what are we?”, Sooyoung quietly muttered.

“We are nothing. It was fun whilst it lasted but that’s it.” Jungkook sneered at Sooyoung. He didn’t have to look back to know that Sooyoung would be close to tears, with a hurt look on her face. Jungkook could practically hear the poor girl’s heart breaking but he had to stay strong, he had made his choice and he had to stick with it.

“A-a-alright then… well good luck to you Jungkook-sshi.” Sooyoung quickly replied as she walked away from Jungkook, trying to hold back her tears. She secretly hoped that Jungkook would stop her and tell her it was all just a joke, but that never happened. Sooyoung quickened her pace towards her trailer as she felt the tears slowly coming down.

Taehyung stepped out from the shadows, he had seen the whole episode unfold. He had to hold himself back from wanting to punch Jungkook but Sooyoung was more important at the moment. Taehyung could hear Sooyoung’s sniffles as he walked towards her trailer, he peeked inside her room before he entered. He could see Sooyoung lying face down on her bed, what he saw in front of him, without a doubt, was a heartbroken girl, breaking into miniscule pieces.

“Sooyoungie, are you okay?”, Taehyung carefully asked as he slowly approached her.

“Oh, Taehyung, I’m fine, thank you.” Sooyoung looked up at Taehyung with her red-shot eyes, trying to wipe away her tears.

“No, you’re not. Come here Sooyoungie.” Taehyung sternly replied, with his arms wide open, as he offered her a hug. He could hear the disappointment in Sooyoung’s voice when she realised that he was not Jungkook and that slightly hurt him. Sooyoung was bawling her eyes out whilst in his arm now, Taehyung comforted her; trying to soothe her heartbreak with his little remarks of “you’ll be okay”, “it’s okay” and “just let it all out”.

Months had passed and the three young stars had reunited at the premiere of their movie. Sooyoung had not seen or contacted Jungkook in the past few months but she did hear from her close friends that Jungkook and Yeri had gotten back together. Sooyoung and Taehyung had only gotten closer whilst they filmed their drama; the movie and drama’s promotions overlapped, so Sooyoung and Taehyung agreed to go to the premiere together. Sooyoung was a vision in her navy, couture ball gown as she exited the limo; the journalists were quick to recognise Sooyoung and began to take their pictures. Taehyung then exited the limo after Sooyoung, he was looking dapper in his navy tuxedo that complimented Sooyoung’s dress. The cameras went crazy, they were eager to take pictures of the young stars together.

A few metres ahead of Sooyoung and Taehyung, on the red carpet was Jungkook. Sooyoung’s eyes were naturally drawn to Jungkook, he was looking as handsome as ever in his black suit but the ring on his finger and Yeri, wearing a matching black dress, brought her out of her daydream. Sooyoung was quick to get a hold of her emotions, with all the paparazzi around, it was not wise to show any weakness. Taehyung followed Sooyoung’s gaze towards Jungkook and Yeri as they were about to kiss for the cameras; in order to distract Sooyoung, Taehyung grabbed her hand as he pulled her along the red carpet. The remainder of the red carpet went by swimmingly, although there was an awkward tension as Jungkook, Sooyoung and Taehyung posed for their cast photo.

As they entered the theatre, the cast were seated together. Sooyoung was luckily enough to sit between Taehyung and the director, with Jungkook and Yeri sitting on the opposite side of the director. The theatre gradually came to a silence as the movie began, the audience was captivated by the remarkable acting and by the heart-wrenching love story of Noah and Allie. Sooyoung felt more and more tense as the kissing scenes between her and Jungkook came on the screen; the highly-anticipated rain kiss was finally shown, Sooyoung threw a glance at Jungkook, to her surprise Jungkook was staring right at her.

Sooyoung could not take it anymore, she rose from her seat and excused herself as she exited the theatre. She thought that she was over Jungkook but seeing him with Yeri was opening up old wounds. Taehyung whom was always quick to notice Sooyoung’s shifts in emotions, had also excused himself as he exited the cinema to follow Sooyoung. Jungkook saw Sooyoung exit the cinema and tried to follow her, however to not raise any suspicion from the public and from Yeri, he waited a few minutes before pardoning himself.

Taehyung had found her waiting along the street, shivering from the cold and trying to hail down a taxi; he took off his jacket as he approached her, put it on her shoulders and was able to quickly hail a taxi. Sooyoung swiftly turned around to see Taehyung; Taehyung who was always considerate towards her and her feelings, who would never think to hurt her and who would truly treasure her as though she was the most precious being in the universe. Taehyung opened the door for Sooyoung once the taxi had arrived and followed her into the taxi, intertwining their fingers along the way. This is what Jungkook first saw as he exited the theatre, Jungkook looked at Taehyung and Sooyoung together and noticed the look of adoration Taehyung had as he gazed upon Sooyoung. That was when Jungkook knew he had lost to Taehyung.

Sooyoung looked down at her hand interlocked with Taehyung’s hand and slowly brought her gaze up towards his face; Taehyung was already staring her, examining her every move but focussing on her plump lips. Taehyung unconsciously moved his face towards Sooyoung’s and waited for Sooyoung’s permission before he proceeded to softly kiss her. The kiss was innocent, filled with longing and devotion. Sooyoung knew from that kiss alone, that this is who she belonged with.
