Fourth and Fifth Month

Mo Yeon returned to her schedule, being a doctor with all her heart. Even though she didn’t like it, but she felt lighter once she removed her necklace the month before. She tempted to throw the necklace into the ocean, but finally she decided to still keep it, put it in a box and hiding it on a small space inside her desk. Mo Yeon tried to do what her mother said, living on while holding the memories of the man she loved.

The doctor was holding a chart of her patients when a nurse called her, giving her a bundle of flowers. Mo Yeon raised her eyebrows.

“What is this?” she asked.

“It’s from the Director, Dr. Kang,” the nurse answered.

Mo Yeon blinked. “What?”

“The Director sends this for you.”

The doctor eyed the flowers, remembering the time the man did the same after she returned from Urk, being bold even though he knew the rumors about her already had a boyfriend. Mo Yeon sighed deeply.

“You can keep it,” she said while returning to her chart and walked away, leaving the nurse stared at her with bewilderment expression.

“Eh?”

The next day it was the same, and also the day after. The flowers kept coming, but Mo Yeon never accepted one of them. The rumors already started she broke up with her soldier boyfriend and began to date the Director again. Mo Yeon never said anything about it and no one ever dared to ask, except of course, Dr. Kim.

“You’re dating the Director again? What happened to that soldier boyfriend?” she asked Mo Yeon at lunch time.

“Who said I’m dating the Director?” Mo Yeon asked in return.

“The rumors said that.”

“Do you ever see me and the Director together?”

Dr. Kim shrugged. “They said rumors about you having soldier boyfriend and that happened to be true.”

Mo Yeon sighed. “I don’t understand how you become a doctor with a brain like that,” she quoted Si Jin’s words.

“What?”

Mo Yeon put her tray on her table, surprising her friends whom already sat around it. “If you’re jealous, then say to the Director you want to date him, ok?”

“Hey!”

“Just leave if you have nothing to say. I want to eat my lunch in peace.”

Dr. Kim left Mo Yeon with pouty face, stomping her feet while Mo Yeon sat on her chair with her tray in front of her, beginning to eat by stabbing her fork with force on her food, causing her friends to gasp in shock. Mo Yeon stared at her friends with menacing eyes.

“Don’t ask.”

Her friends shook their heads and began to eat with Mo Yeon eating with angry expression.

Dr. Song sighed and mumbled, “At least, she eats properly.”

Mo Yeon didn’t feel surprise when the Director asked her to come to his office at the end of the mont

Chapter 7: I'm thinking about this part too. I mean, Mo Yeon is a doctor and she must have felt the same way like in this chapter...no bodies found, high chance the victims are still alive.
The lanterns scene takes my breath away, if this chapter turns into a drama, I'll be crying a river too...
