CHAPTER SIX

Small things with great Love. (2015)

A week after he started working as a secretary to one of the most influential business heirs in Seoul, Sunggyu has learned to pick up a couple of habit and routine that the president unconsciously sticks to. As a starter, he values breakfast the most, but the lack of time and the absence of his housemaid force him to neglect it.

Which is why, as a secretary, Sunggyu has been given a task to monitor and prepared the president’s meal as well as learning and perfecting his secretarial job. He wants to caution himself against the idea that balance has to be a routine that looks the same week in and week out.

Sunggyu placed a cup of long black coffee (freshly roasted coffee bean, no milk with just only one teaspoon of sugar) and a couple of blueberry muffin that he picks from the nearby café on top of the desk.

Woohyun loves to take his coffee with a minimum amount of sugar but for some weird reason, he preferred pastry over standard sandwiches for his breakfast.

The Raven's room has been designed and decorated nicely by a famous Interior Designer as a present from his father since Woohyun will spend most of his precious time at the office the moment he decided to step into their family business.

The room was air-conditioned and color coded with a pure white and baby blue to calm the mind and aid concentration. Consequently, it is serene and mentally calming. Woohyun complaints about it later that he preferred some fierce color like red only to be given a weird judging look by the designer.

There’s a clear glass floor-to-ceiling window behind the desk supplying an unlimited amount of natural light, which is Sunggyu’s favorite part about the room.

Woohyun’s table is made of teak wood in an L-shape allocated most of his work supplies. He set-up a desktop for his work purposes at the longer side of the table, facing the entrance door and another laptop to reply to an email or any other personal matter. 

Sunggyu arranged the document and company’s file that requires the president's immediate attention at the nearest side of the table and power on the laptop and desktop to warm it up so that Woohyun can use it immediately after he walks into the office.

The President's day at the office didn’t start until 9 am. He spends his time working out and go out for a run after he woke up before prepared himself to go to the office. However, he strictly asks Sunggyu to come in at 8.30 am to go through and memorize Woohyun’s schedule by heart.

It’s unfair, sometimes.

“You have a lunch appointment with Lee Sungyeol-ssi’s representatives regarding his contract as an ambassador for our company.”

“I thought we have a five years contract with him?”

“Yes. It will expire next months which is why we need to renew it soon. Unless you have someone in mind for that position?”

Woohyun shake his head immediately. “No, we need him. You can prepare the contract and please add extra space for him to make any additional conditions. Oh, how about the photo shoot?”

“They have chosen the place and PR’s team still working with Sungyeol-ssi’s management to book his time. Our major concern is the photographer.”

“I thought we always used that same brat for our project?”

Sunggyu sighed again, his head hurt whenever he remembered the scene that happens last week at one of their studios.

He has followed Mark to visit their studio at the 7th floor when he saw their main photographer fight with their model for some unknown reason and all hell break loose when Sungyeol throws the photographer’s precious camera on the floor.

“Well, apparently Sungyeol-ssi has a huge misunderstanding with him.”
