BACKGROUND INFO

Mino was introduced to kpop by his classmates and was impressed by Taeyang's- wedding dress. He searched Taeyang up and found out about BIGBANG and eventually became a VIP. He started to secretly practice rapping behind his parents back and eventually signed up for korean classes. He got interested in composing when he was 14 and started working on self-made music using online software. At the age of 16, after finishing his final exams he recieved oppurtunity to enter a prestigious school. However, he told his parents about his interest in music and asked them to send him to korea to purse his dream and rejected the offer by the school. His dad tried to change his mind but failed. Disappointed in his son's decision his father stopped talking to him till date. Once in korea after series of events he joined underground hip- hop crew, Buckwilds, along with Bobby and was personally mentored by ZICO. Mino and Bobby started working together and formed MOBB. MOBB became a huge hit in the underground scene. He participated in SMTM 3 where many rappers found out that he was training to be an idol and started mocking him. He withstood the pressure and went on to win SMTM3. In 2014, at the age of 18, he performed with illionaire on MAMA 2014, and released a solo album in 2015 which won him many best hip hop artist awards.His solo songs Fear, Okey dokey and Yes or No ranked high on many music charts.
