“So Jeong and I talked about it, and clearly since something’s been up with all of us for the last six days, we decided that all of us are going to that new amusement park so that we could have fun and hopefully get rid of whatever tension there is.”

 

It has been a week since that little incident occurred, and not much has happened to the nine girls since then, besides the fact that whenever they all get together things become extremely awkward, even during the smallest moments of silence. Most times Mina can’t even look Momo in the eye and some times Chaeyoung can’t be with the group for longer than ten minutes. No one noticed for a while at first but later on it had become apparent for some, and that is what created the strain between the nine girls.

 

And in order to relieve this strain, during their lunch break Jihyo (being the ever lovely person she is) suggested that all of them shall go to the amusement park so that they can let loose and whatnot. 

 

“What do mean everyone’s being weird? And tension? What tension?” asked Sana naively.

 

“Sana. Poor oblivious Sana. Can’t you tell how everyone’s not acting like how they used to?” replied Jihyo concerningly.

 

“……”

 

“I’ll take that as a ‘no’ then.” sighing dejectedly, Jihyo continued on, “Well, even if you didn’t notice I did, and I’m pretty sure some others did too. So in order to heal our relationships we are going to the amusement park, unlike last time when Nayeon and Jeongyeon had to go to the counsellor and  she almost scarred them for life.”

 

Curious, Dahyun interjected, “What happened last time?”

 

“We don’t talk about it.” both Nayeon and Jeongyeon said in unison, shivering slightly at the memory. 

 

“….anyway. Let’s just all meet there at say, 5pm ‘kay?”

 

Looking around the group, some seemed to to hesitate whilst others reluctantly agreed to go. Usually, they’d all be jumping around at the idea of going to an amusement park, however by seeing their reactions just now, Jihyo couldn’t help but be afraid of the idea that this issue would be unfixable. All she wanted were her nine little rascals back to their joyful and troublesome selves, even if they were sometimes overly annoying. 

 

*RRRIIIINNNGGGG*

 

Looking around Jihyo then told the others that they’d all better not be late for their time at the park, but the sentence went to deafened ears as all the students had began exiting the cafeteria, making loud conversations all the while. When she looked back to the group of eight, they had all seem to left along with the crowd leaving her alone at their lunch table. After letting out a wistful sigh, Jihyo then left to go to her next class.

 

……I seem to be doing that a lot lately, sighing. I wonder if things’ll be alright again. I hope they do.

Surprisingly everyone showed up on time and some even came before Jihyo herself, complaining childishly that they've been waiting for ten minutes and that she should’ve been the first one here since it was her idea in the first place. This created a spark inside Jihyo, the little warmth in her chest telling her that this was exactly what she has been missing for the past week. 

 

Of course after riding every single huge ride there was, all the girls except Momo and Mina who hadn’t ridden any, were tired but somehow at the same time still feeling pumped from all the adrenaline that was rushing through their veins. And obviously the two girls weren't just left there as they had wandered by themselves into small gift shops buying this and that, taking pictures with little cat ear headbands on, having fun and just completely forgetting about their little awkwardness from the past week.

 

And as much as she loved them bonding and becoming the best of friends again, Jihyo wasn't having it, determinedly she pleaded to both Momo and Mina to at least go on ride, even if it was a kiddy one.

 

“Come on guyyyss!! Just one ride is all I’m asking for pleaaaseee! It doesn’t even have to be a big one. See, look at that rollercoaster filled with kids, that doesn’t seem so bad right?”

 

“I-I don’t know Jihyo I’m not really into heights.. But I guess I’ll do it if Mina does it.”

 

Looking over, Mina hadn't voiced her response yet but you could tell from her expression that she didn't want to even be near that rollercoaster one bit.

 

“Come one Mina please do it. I’ll buy you food if you do. That churro that you’ve been wanting. How’s that sound?” Jeongyeon asked gently.

 

“R-really?? Okay then.. I’ll do it. But don’t laugh if I start crying.”

 

“I would never laugh at you.”

 

“Hey! What about me? Don’t I get free food for going on it too??” Momo enquired. 

 

“Who are you?”

 

“Jeongyeonnie!! You’re so mean!”

 

“Momo-yah it’s ok I’ll buy you something, but only if you try to enjoy the ride got it?”

 

“Roger that, let’s get going then.” Momo then linked arms with Jihyo and went to line up at the entrance of the ride, followed by the seven other girls. 

 

As the ride came to a thundering stop before them, sweat began to drop from the two almost paralysed Japanese girls’ foreheads while the other third Japanese girl seemingly bounced over to the first cart she saw whilst dragging a staggering Tzuyu along with her. 

 

“Woohooo let’s go already!!” and with that exclamation was everyone’s cue to begin piling into all the carts available.

 

The man operating the ride then closed the gate allowing no more people in and started prepping the next round. The safety bars had come down to rest on all the girls’ knees and then it hit Momo. It was actually going to start.

 

“W-wait!! Mister don’t do it! I’m not ready ye– AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! ”

“That was so aWESOME!! Even if it was a baby ride.”

 

“But didn’t that go a bit faster than the last time it went around? Mina, Momo you two okay?”

 

Looking at the girls in question, who were getting off the ride with wobbling legs, almost like newborn dear walking for the first time. Jihyo and Nayeon hurriedly ran over to both of the girls and sat them down on a nearby bench.

 

“That guy was mean, he didn’t even give me time to prepare myself.”

 

“He actually gave you two– OW! What was that for?? ”

 

“Dahyunnie don’t be rude.”

 

“Unnieee I didn’t mean it to sound that way–”

 

“Anyway, I’ll go get them some drinks.” Jeongyeon offered, glancing over and grabbing the hand of the girl next to her, she continued, “Chaengie is going with me too.” 

 

….

 

A while later Jeongyeon came back with Chaeyoung trailing slightly behind her with bottles of water for everyone in their arms. After handing out all the bottles except one, which was for herself, Jeongyeon reached a hand up and began scratching her cheek in a habit, an apologetic look on her face.

 

“Here you guys are. Sorry it took longer than expected, there was a long line. Wasn’t there Chae?”  scrutinising the said girl with a sturdy look in her eyes.

 

Catching the look sent her way, Chaeyoung slowly turned away to face the group and murmured  out her response.

 

“Y-yeah. It was kinda long…”

 

In the time it took for the two to get the drinks Momo and Mina had considerably calmed down and no longer felt like the ground was constantly shaking underneath their feet. Everyone crowding the two seemed to have also calmed down from the rush of the ride, which was fortunate because no one believed that going on another ride was an option anymore.

 

“Hey Mina, are you feeling better? How about we go get that churro I promised you?” Jeongyeon asked while tenderly taking the girl’s hand to bring her up, afraid that she may stumble and fall. 

 

This reminded Jihyo of her deal with Momo earlier on as well. But since everyone was kinda drainded out she figured, why not all of them go get some snacks to eat in the meanwhile. And weren't there game stalls next to the food ones anyway? Maybe all of them could just play around there until it was time for everyone to go home.

“Dahyunnie lets go there! Oh, lets play that! No, that one! Or actually that one over there seems fun! Come onnn”

 

“Sana-unnie can’t I breathe for a second? You’re suffocating me.”

 

“Well if you were, you would be dead by now wouldn’t you?”

 

The two came to a stop when those words were said. And even though Sana was wondering what was wrong, Dahyun had just looked at her with squinted eyes questioning herself whether this dumb facade was an act or not.

 

“Hey Dahyun-unnie come play this with us, we need four players. Bring Sana-unnie too.”

 

“Tzuyu-yah of course I’d play with you!!” 

 

And with that, the girl had ran to the maknae who stood next to a perplexed Chaeyoung. Dahyun had gotten used to these things by now and had just shrugged at it, while taking her time to reach the now, group of three. 

 

Not far from the food stall where they were at earlier, the five other girls stood around a giant claw machine, trying to get whatever the claw could grab onto.

 

“Jeongyeon-ahhh, be a good dongsaeng and get me that toy there in the middle.”

 

“…”

 

“Jeongyeon-ah.”

 

“…”

 

“Yah! Yoo Jeongyeon! Don’t ignore me. Get me that big doll in the middle.”

 

“Who do you think you are woman? Get it yourself.”

 

“Hey, just cause you haven’t gotten anything in the past four tries doesn’t mean you get to be mad at me missy.”

 

Even though the tall girl hated to admit it, while longingly looking at the doll in the corner of the machine, Nayeon was right. She hasn’t been able to get anything for the past four tries, and to be honest, she was very frustrated.

 

“Pshh whatever. That thing’s rigged anyway.” she said trying to brush off her failure.

 

And so you could have imagined the look on her face (and the crushed pieces of her pride) when Momo had given the thing a try and had gotten the doll in the middle on the first try. 

 

“B-bu-b-but h-how? She—”

 

“Here you go Nayeonie! You wanted this one right?”

 

“Yes I did! Thank you so much Moguri!” 

 

And that is how the scene of a blushing Momo, an ecstatic Nayeon and a dejected Jeongyeon had caused a Jihyo to laugh heartily at their antics with a giggling Mina by her side, who was nibbling on her second churro of the night.

“So I guess you guys all had a lot of fun didn't you?”

 

“So much fun!”

 

“Hm. Like you have no idea.”

 

“We should totally do this again one day.”

 

“That makes me glad guys, it really does.” Jihyo said trying to hold back some tears at the sight of the girls finally acting like their normal selves again. Clearing she went on, “So I guess I’ll see you all again on Monday yeah?”

 

“Yep.”

 

“Definitely.”

 

After exchanging all their goodbyes, everyone couldn’t help but notice the little skip to their step as they had went home. It was a fun day for all indeed.

*Ding*

 

“Hm? I got a text?”

 

-No Jam Hyung sent you a message-

 

Don’t be late tmrw ok? The mall at 2. See ya then x

 

“Oh right, there’s that thing. I almost forgot..” muttering underneath her own breath, but to encourage herself she continued on, “Don’t worry it’ll be fine, it’s just Jeongyeon-unnie. Chaeng fighting!”

 

Putting her phone down on her nightstand, the girl then laid down on her bed waiting for her dreams to claim her, so that when tomorrow comes, at least she won’t be cranky from the lack of sleep.

Hey guys... It's been a while hasn't it? Hehe...

First off sorry for disappearing but I had some stuff going on so I hope you understand.

On another note I hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas and if you don't celebrate, well I hope you had a good December 25th.
