Stacey did a lazy stretch and yawned just like Tuna. “Wae can’t I be here? Afraid that I will tell the world that you are crushing on someone? She winked teasingly.

My face turned crimson and I cast my eyes down avoiding eye contact.

“Woo, someone’s face color are turning the owner in!”

I stamped my feet and retorted, “What do you mean? I aren’t crushing on anyone!”

“So is that someone crushing on you then?” Stacey jumped abruptly in front of me making my heart leapt almost out of my mouth.

“Ya, today is not Halloween. Stop scaring me!” I gave her a light punch on her left shoulder.

Stacey’s brows twitched and face turned green. Was my blow too hard for her to handle? She retreated 2 steps and collapsed on back on the sofa. Her hands touched her affected shoulder and her hazelnut eyes turned cloudy as if storm would be coming any moment then. She buried herself in her own arms rejecting to look at me anymore.

“Hey, are you ok?” I approached her to check on her.

Stacey turned to face me and whined, “I am badly hurt.”

“I merely just give you a soft punch.”  I defended but guilt was evident in my tone as I did a weak soft defend.

“Not that punch…” Stacey’s tears dropped.

“I I I I’m so sorry” I stammered, sat down on the sofa and cupped her face attempting to clear the mess I had made.

“So what was it then?” I wiped her flowing rivers with my thumb. It broke my heart to see someone close to me to cry because of me. I want to be someone to be happy with and not making people sad let alone cry. Bad Amber.

“It was that you have now taking fancy of someone. You used to say you aimed to dedicate your life in educating young children and choose to be single for your whole life.”

“So you are happy for me?” I smiled at her her rosy cheeks.

Her eyes twinkled and she continued, “I told myself if you choose to be single then I will join you. I will protect you with my life. So I told people that you are my lover.”

“Oic…”

15 seconds passed.

“Wait…”

Am I missing something?

“Stacey, you told people that I am your LOVER?!?”

My eyes popped like goldfish and gulped big time. I pulled her up to sit up to face me and asked, “Who did you tell?”

Stacey’s eye rolled left and hands started to count.  Then she lifted her legs up to continue the counting.

She stopped and grinned showing her pearly white teeth, “Too many that I lost count.”

“Tell me their names, list then out.” I held her shoulders and shook her showing my urgency.
