Three
StayHyoyeon can't move. She feels paralysed. She watches her boyfriend and the girl kiss. The girl has her arms clinging onto Jay's neck and her legs wrapped around his waist. One of Jay's hands is on her hip and the other is caressing her thigh.
Run. Hyoyeon tells herself, but her legs have turned into blocks of ice. Their lips move in sync.
Turn away. The girl pulls away for air and Jay moves to her neck. He starts on the exposed skin, earning moans from the girl.
Don't watch. Jay slips his hand under the girl's shirt and presses the girl against the wall. They must be very focused in their activities since neither of the two have realised Hyoyeon rooted at the door. It was not until the girl opens her eyes to pull off her shirt then she sees Hyoyeon. She gasps, drawing the attention of Jay. The girl quickly tugs down her shirt and untangles herself from Jay, cursing under her breath. Jay just stares, unable to process what was happening.
Hyoyeon feels tears pool in her eyes and swallows the lump in . Her nails dig into her palm as she stares back. No, she is not going to cry in front of them. Jay buttons up his shirt hastily and takes a step forward towards Hyoyeon. Hyoyeon steps back immediately.
"Hyoyeon," he starts awkwardly and coughs. "You didn't tell me you were coming."
Hyoyeon chokes back a cry. Why? So you could continue making out with your lover behind my back? She spits in her mind spitefully but doesn't say anything because she knows that once she opens , all that comes out would be her sobs. Jay moves closer again and Hyoyeon feels like she's being suffocated. Her legs magically start to work again and she flees out of the office. Before, she could make it to the lift, Jay grabs her hand and forces her back.
"Let go of me," Hyoyeon growls. She struggles against his vice-like grip and tries not to wince as his hold tightens.
"Stop. I can explain," Jay says.
"Explain what?" Hyoyeon scoffs. She feels warm tears slide down her cheeks. Jay presses his lips into a thin line and doesn't say anything.
"When were you going to tell me? “Hyoyeon whispers and looks into his eyes. God, she hates how weak she sounds. Jay looks away.
"Soon," he mutters.
"How long have you been cheating on me?" Her heart aches at the word 'cheating'. Jay doesn't say anything. ". How long?!" Hyoyeon practically screams.
"Ten months," Jay says reluctantly. Hyoyeon doesn't know what to say. Ten months. Their relationship had been a lie for ten months.
And they only had been dating for twelve months.
"Hyoyeon, I'm sorry. I just can't handle dating a celebrity. You know cameras and the attention. You're a great girl but-"
Hyoyeon cuts him off. "Whatever," she mumbles and wrenches her arms from his hold. "We're done. Don't call me."
"Hyoyeon!" She hears him call but she doesn't stop. She steps into the lift and stares at the ground. As the lift door closes, Hyoyeon decides that Jay Kim is no longer part of her life.
Hyoyeon rests her head on the steering rail. Her head was pounding with a headache and the tears in her eyes made her vision blurry. It was a miracle she managed to get to her car on her shaky legs without collapsing onto the ground in a crying heap. Luckily, Seohyun had ensured that she didn't have any more schedules for the day. Hyoyeon lets out a small sob within the privacy of her car and squeezes her eyes shut. Why was she crying because of a cheating ? She needs to stop. Kim Hyoye
