She doesn't want to mess it up.

Eventually, Wendy does mess things up between her and Irene.

Their favorite band has been on the stage for over thirty minutes and it takes Joy and Seulgi five minutes to start making out in the middle of the crowd, swaying to the same rhythm of the songs. To their left, Irene and Wendy could see Momo and Moonbyul enjoying the songs together with beer in hands, obviously already intoxicated – by how they dance that’s not in sync.

Then there's Irene and Wendy. Wendy standing behind Irene, so close to each other as people are crowding up to them. Irene can feel Wendy's breath against her skin, can hear the sound of her heartbeat despite the loud music and loud people around them.

"It's our favorite song," Wendy whispers in her ear the second the music to the first song the band has ever released starts playing. Irene can feel goose bumps sketching her skin and she can feel her hair stands on its ends.

When she turn her head to look at Wendy, she realizes that she's already looking at her, eyes focused solely on her and not on the band. There's something in her bright brown eyes, something that she can't quite decipher and before she can get the chance to figure it out, she feels the slightest brush of her lips against hers. She feels her forehead against hers, next, and despite the warning booming in her mind, she can't find it in her to create a gap between them.

Taking that as a good sign, Wendy closes her eyes and presses her lips against Irene's, stealing her breath away. The time stops, both of them are sure of that. Heat crawls up Irene's back and it is when Wendy's hand touches her cheek that she realizes what they're doing.

As though someone has just dumped an ice-cold water over her, Irene steps away from her, eyes widening and jaw hanging open. Then, before Wendy can open to say something, Irene pushes her way through the throng of sweaty bodies, heading straight for the exit.

When she's finally out, cold wind nips at her skin and she rubs her hands up and down her arms, trying to create heat. She takes a deep breath - in and out, in and out- but nothing seems to work when it comes to calming her erratic heartbeats. Especially since Wendy Son causes it.

Less than a minute later, she hears footsteps moving towards her and she knows straightaway that it's Wendy.

"Irene!"

 She shouts her name. She wants to walk away but before she gets to do it, she's got a hold on her arm.

"Please, don't leave."
