"I think they're gone" Taeyeon heard a voice whisper in her ear. She quickly opened her eyes and looked to her side to find Jessica peering at her face. Their eyes met, and for a moment neither of them said anything. It took that much for Taeyeon's semi awakened brain to assimilate what was happening around her. She put her hand under her pillow and grabbed her gun, she got up and paced towards the curtains that she slowly drew back. No strange folk, the car that had been going over the block last night was gone. She pushed the curtain back into place and turned arround to look at Jessica. "How did you know that?" She let out, her eyes full of suspicion, for what she didn't know and that strange feeling was back at her insides, the same feeling she got yesterday at the elevator. "I'm sorry" Jessica looked at her, "I just had to look, I drew the curtain a little bit and looked". Taeyeon stayed silent. Jessica also didn't say anything. After a while Taeyeon sighed again. 

"Ok, fine" Taeyeon let out. "So what now? Are you really bringing me back?" Jessica said as she gave a few steps backward, as if she was getting ready to run at any moment. Taeyeon noticed this and she slowly pointed her gun at Jessica. "I still don't know what to do, but for now I'm not leaving you out of my sight"
"Look, for now, you can't run, don't run, if you run, I will find you or worst...they will" Taeyeon said as she nodded with her head towards the window.
Jessica looked at the gun, then back at Taeyeon and for a milisecond, Taeyeon could swear there wasn't a drop of fear in Jessica as she seemingly made a decision between Taeyeon and the mobsters, or whatever they were. Jessica looked at Taeyeon, her seemingly weak teacher persona was back, the glimpse of fearlessness a fleeting ilusion. "So I'm just supposed to go with you, someone I have no idea who?" Jessica said in a disdaining tone.

"It's either me or them. I can't say that I won't turn you in, I can only promise you that I will do it with you alive and safe" Taeyeon said as she looked into Jessica's eyes.
"Ah! Safe, like you can even guarantee that, I'd be safer just staying here" Jessica let out. "If that is what you think, but you know what I am, you know what my job is, you know very well that I can't just leave you here" Taeyeon said as she put her gun down and holstered it. She put on her leather jacket and looked at Jessica.

Jessica was still looking at her, still processing what she had just said. True, she knew that Taeyeon was a bounty hunter, she knew she would never let her go, and even if she did, she still had those henchmen to worry about. For now, all her cards were best played when in Taeyeon's hand. Jessica suddenly spoke.
"Can't you just help me?" Her eyes looked pleading and for a small, brief moment, Taeyeon was almost tempted to say yes. But she stopped herself, like Sooyoung had said, this woman was nothing more than a target. She was just her paycheck, nothing else. Nothing more. 

"I can't help you when I don't even know you. Look, my job is to take you to the government office, there I can only promise you that I can find you an officer who is...mostly understanding, you plead your case, I receive my money, and we both don't have to see each other, ever again" Taeyeon explained as she walked past Jessica and went into her bedroom. Jessica just froze on her spot, as if reality was catching up, as if she was just suddenly realizing that there was no way out.
She walked over to the couch and sat down. Taeyeon came back from the bedroom with what seemed like a handbag and a small purse. Jessica looked up at her, she was about to ask something when Taeyeon cut her off "I know what you are gonna ask, I'm just good at finding things" Taeyeon let out.

"Take all your personal identifications, driver's license, passport, citizen card, whatever. Also all credit cards and bank books" Taeyeon told her this as she placed the bag and purse next to her on the couch. "Where's your cellphone" She asked. "Over here" Jessica answered.

"Good, give me that" Taeyeon said as she grabbed the phone from Jessica's hand threw it on the floor and bashed it with the heel of her rider boots. Jessica could only look on and keep doing what Taeyeon had ordered as she broke it. After the phone was broken she removed the sim and broke it in two before flushing it down the toilet. "Credit cards" She said as she extended her hand. Jessica placed the cards in her hand without saying a word. Taeyeon broke them, she walked over to the bathroom and brought a small trash can, she put the rests of the cards and the phone inside. She looked at Jessica again, "Anything that isn't your passport".

Jessica handed her the rest of the things, to which Taeyeon did the same as before, breaking them and putting them in the trash.
"This building has fire sensors and smoke detectors?" 
"Yes" Jessica answered.
"Then you're gonna wait here, while I go downstairs, I will see if the coast is clear, then I will create a diversion, obviously it will be the fire alarm, you will meet me on the other side of the street, I'll be waiting in my bike. Are we clear?" Taeyeon said.
"Yes" Jessica let out. Taeyeon turned and with the small trash can in hand left the apartment closing the door behind her.
Jessica went to the bathroom. She washed her face on the sink and looked at her reflection, she looked like she had aged 10 years.
What was she gonna do?
