YOUR UNIVERSITY’S football team won the championship and almost everybody that attended the school—no matter what their so-called social status was—was at Kim Jongin’s huge mansion to celebrate. It wasn’t as huge as a typical end-of-the-year party, but it was still a pretty big one.

You and Sehun came to the party later than everyone else. You did not want to go to a house party in your cheerleading outfit—yes, you did perform at the finals—because you didn’t want anyone to accidentally spill some beer or any other drink on it. And you also didn’t trust yourself either since you were not only clumsy but a bad drinker as well.

“Took you two long enough,” Kyungsoo grumbled as soon as he saw you and Sehun come in, and handed two unopened beers. “You guys want me to die or something?”

You snickered at his comment as you reached out for the beer, but Sehun took it away from you. You raised an eyebrow at him, just wondering what exactly was he doing.

“You cannot drink more than three bottles,” he told you sternly while you gaped at him. 

“What? Why?” you said. “I thought we were staying here in case we get too trashed?”

“That’s not the issue, love,” he said with a small sigh and a knowing look. “Remember the last time you drank more than three?”

Of course, you knew what he was talking about. Sehun brought you to a house party hosted by one of the football players on your maybe third or fourth date, and needless to say that you were super nervous. You weren’t really used to dating guys like Sehun. Your nerves took over and hence, your date was a rather bad experience for you, but a rather memorable and funny one for your boyfriend.

“Okay, I get your point,” you said with a small groan of disappointment. “No need to remind me.”

“Actually, I might want to remind you,” he said.

“Shut up,” you mumbled back, your cheeks slightly pink as you remembered what exactly happened at the last party. 

You remembered just downing drinks after drinks because you were so nervous around Sehun even though you guys already went out twice. However, it was the first time that he had ever invited you to do something with his friends. In the end, you practically ended up acting like a baby to Sehun because you were jealous of all the attention he was getting from the female population. Acting like a baby with Sehun also meant being a lot more touchy and more expressive with your feelings.

Sehun automatically laughed at your reaction, his eyes twinkling with delight. He then pulled you by your waist before giving you a soft kiss on the top of your head and mumbled, “You’re too adorable.”

For the rest of the evening, Sehun stayed close to you, not leaving your side for one bit unless it was to grab another drink for the both of you or to go to the bathroom. You thought that you were the clingy one in the relationship, but Sehun’s clinginess was on a whole different level. Not that you were complaining, of course. But, you’ve had always been the one wanting his attention and rarely the opposite—it was a nice feeling. However, you didn’t want to be the one to ruin his night or to keep him away from his friends either. After all, it was his and the football team’s night.

“Sehun, I promise I’m not going to drink more than three bottles,” you told him with a small glare. “Just go and hang out with your friends. I’ll be fine. And besides, Kyungsoo can keep watch over me. Right, Soo?”

“Don’t worry, Sehun,” Kyungsoo said with a face so straight, you almost laughed out loud. But you knew that he wasn’t really serious. “I’ll keep an eye on her.”

But your boyfriend let out a sigh with a small shake of his head. “It’s okay, I’m not staying here to keep an eye on you. I’m staying because I want to be with you.”

He looked just so loving and adorable that you couldn’t help but coo at him and pinch his cheek. He made a face but nonetheless smiled when he noticed just happy and satisfied you were with his answer. Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and simply walked away, giving you and Sehun some time alone. You weren’t really used to the party scene and neither was Kyungsoo, which is why you felt bad because one of the reasons why your best friend even came was because of you. Usually, you and Kyungsoo would spend some time in a café and study together for some upcoming tests and exams. As people part of the student council, you guys had no choice but to get more than just decent marks.

“What’s wrong, babe?” Sehun asked you, his eyes peering down at you in worry.

After dating for a while, you would have thought that you would get used to him looking down at you like that. You never felt intimidated by his stare, but sometimes, you couldn’t help but blush at his eye contact. There was just something about the way he looked at you that made you feel like you were really the only girl in his world; like you were the only one who he gave all his attention to.

You shook your head, a feeble attempt on your part to get rid of your blushed cheeks. “Nothing… Just worried a bit about Kyungsoo. I feel bad for dragging here with us and then ditching him right after.”

“Go join him,” he said and then nudged you to the direction where Kyungsoo went. You looked back at him confusingly, wondering just exactly what he was doing, but he gave you a soft smile and motioned you to go after your best friend. “Go on. I’ll take your advice and go see my friends for a while.”

You bit your bottom lip in contemplation. You didn’t want to hurt your boyfriend’s feelings either since he so nicely told you that he wanted to spend more time with you. You felt guilty because you knew that you were so busy from all of your activities that you barely had time for him. You only saw him at school and sometimes during the weekends, when you were not too busy working and volunteering.

“But–”

“I’ll be fine,” he reassured you. “Text me– No, actually, call me if anything happens or if you need me, okay?”

You nodded and you left to find your friend. However, at the last second, you abruptly turned around and ran back to your boyfriend, who was surprised by your sudden action. You immediately went on your tippy-toes before giving a small peck on your boyfriend’s lips, and he automatically grinned, his mood lifted a little.

“Have I ever told that you are the best boyfriend ever?”

“A few times, maybe?”
