One day I found fresh scars on Jessica - her wrists, her arms, her hands. They were pink and purple and scratched. I forced her to tell me who did that to her, even though I already knew the answer.

That day, I went downstairs. She was having teatime alone at the dining table. I sat down opposite to her. It was repulsing, the fact that she was acting like she didn’t do anything wrong.
“How can you be so cruel?” I asked her with venom in my voice. I could hurt her. She hurt Jessica. So, I could do the same to her, too.
“I have had enough of you two menaces. I took care of you. Basically, I am your mother! Shouldn’t you be the least thankful?”
“No. You’re not my mother. You never will be. You’re a monster.”
“What?” she asked back, feigning ignorance. “Why the hell did you even come here? I can’t believe you’re saying that to me again. Ahh~ you must still be sick,” she said, shaking her head.
