“Good morning, sweetheart!” Yonghwa greeted her as soon as she walked inside the dining room, he stood up and put an arm on her shoulder. His Aunts looked at them with a scowl in their faces. “Let’s eat breakfast”

“Wow! This looks delicious!” she exclaimed after she sat on the chair, Yonghwa pulled for her, beside Aunt Sue

Yonghwa put fried rice, fried fish and omelet on her plate in an instant. “Love, can you get me some vinegar please?” she said in an aegyo dripped voice

“Sure, sweetheart” he said but not without giving her the warning look. Being her slave is not part of the deal

“I also want some chocolate drink with milk, love” she said as he stood

“Wait a minute, SWEETHEART…” he stressed the last word for her to understand that she’s abusing his kindness. He has no choice but to give all she asked for though

“Thank you, Love” she said after he put her orders on the table  “Love….” She said again just after Yonghwa sat “Can you debone my fish?”

“Sure sweetheart” he said then stepped on her feet under the table

“Ouch!”

Yonghwa grinned from ear to ear “What else do you want sweetheart?”

“Aishh… I’m leaving… I’m afraid I might get diabetes if I stay longer” she then marched outside the dining area

“I’ll go to church first and then I’ll go get Hyojung, appa has arthritis now.You all know only Hyojung can alleviate that” Aunt Tess, said and stood

“Is she a masseuse aunt Tess?” Seohyun asked. Aunt Tess’ eyes widened at her

“She’s a doctor, Seohyun” Aunt Anne chimed in “I’ll go ahead too, I’m going to the market”

Seohyun laughed as soon as the three are out of sight.

“Sshhhh! they might hear you!” Yonghwa said

“Now I know why you don’t want to stay here.” She said “And this chocolate drink is jjang”

“Tsk” Yonghwa pouted

In a moment Aunt Anne has come back and said “Appa wanted to talk to you after your breakfast” and then she left

“Doesn’t your Grandpa go out of his room?” Seohyun asked

“He does go out but after the three are out of the house or are busy with tasks. He must find them annoying. Sometime they talk at the same time, you can’t understand what they are saying.” He smiled “Eat faster, so that we can go and talk to the old man” he added

“But first, can you get me some water?” Seohyun fluttered her eyes at him

“Yah! Seohyun-ah!”

Before they went inside Grandpa’s room, Yonghwa held Seohyun’s hand.

“Do we really need to hold hands?” she said as she studied their entwined fingers. It’s really nothing but she felt awkward. They’re friends for a long time but they really have not held hands, because friends do not usually do that.

“It’s more convincing this way” Yonghwa said “Don’t get nervous, I have one cool grandpa” he added and squeezed her cold and clammy hand. The nervousness disappeared, now she felt different. It felt good to hold Yonghwa’s hand

Yonghwa pushed the old man’s door “Grandpa…”

“Come in! Come in Yonghwa!” his grandpa’s voice was excited. They went in and saw him sitting on a rocking chair just beside the window

“Good morning, Grandpa” Soehyun said and bowed

“Come in, Seohyun-ah, have a seat” she has visited there so the old man knew her, but that was different

“Grandpa… I guess, Aunt Tess already told you about why we’re here, right?” Yonghwa started.

The old man nodded “So your parents are going to marry you off to some guy?”

Seohyun nodded “But the one I love is Yonghwa, that’s why we decided to elope…”

“Then you two should get married!” the old man cut her of “So that they can’t interfere on the both of you anymore” he looked at Yonghwa

Seohyun has sensed that even though the guy is 70 and looks weak, his eyes are alert and smart, he’s not an easy target. They need to be careful

“Yonghwa, call Judge Shin.” He said “I’m going to talk to her parents after you two are married so they have no choice but to agree.”

Now Seohyun believes that the old man is desperate for an heir

“Yes, grandpa” Seohyun said. How can she tell her parents that she got married without them knowing? She thought but kept mum,  she does not want the old man to doubt them. Her 10 percent is on the line

Grandpa asked many questions that she answered politely. In no time, he already knows her history.
