After the unexpected announcement, Kyungsoo and King Jongin were supposed to join their guests at the royal palace to celebrate their mating with them. They rode in the same carriage to the palace which Kyungsoo guessed must belong to the king.

The carriage itself was not much different from the one that he saw the king use upon his arrival. What made him almost sure that this one was more special was the simpler comfortable interior and overly ornate exterior design of the carriage, clearlydesigned to capture the public's attention and provide comfort, Kyungsoo was trying hard to picture king Jongin's personality by analysing his posessions.

Kyungsoo had many questions clogging his mind, but the king did not apear to be in a talking mood. Besides, he wondered if the king would get offended by being questioned by the omega. As much as Kyungsoo hated himself for letting such stereotypes stop him, he needed to be cautious. He was going to be in the mercy of this alpha for the rest of his life, so he thought to himself that it would be best for him to become closer to the alpha before showing his real personality to him.

In the carriage, King Jongin was sitting at the opposite end of the bench in front of Kyungsoo. He closed his eyes and let a low groan escape his mouth before massaging his temples. He was probably suffering from a headache.

Upon their arrival to the palace, they were escorted to a massive ballroom. Despite the size of the room, it was filled with guests whith cheerful faces who were enjoying themselves. Some of them were chatting in small or large groups, while some of them were either enjoying their drinks or dancing to the live music.

Kyungsoo was stunned, back at their palace he was not really allowed to join such events although as far as he could tell there were as many omegas among the guests as alphas in the room and servents were busy seeing to the guests' needs.

Kyungsoo did not know for how long he has been transfixed on his spot as he was observing the ordeal. King Jongin, on the other hand, looked as unfazed as ever and his face was unreadable. Kyungsoo was not sure if he should try to make small talk with him or leave him alone and try not to bother him. He decided to follow his second thought luckily, the king was soon distracted by greeting and making small talk with the guests.
