Chapter 1

         Our First Encounter Together.

" Nawww Oppa how many times do I have to tell you? I don't want to go! I don't want to be the fifth wheel," I called out to my twin brother as I gave him a look (NO!) He was begging me to go with him to dinner.

" Tiffany, that's unlikely that would happen. You know Siwon will be there as well... " Donghae replied.

I rolled my eyes. " So... and your point is ? Again let me repeat, I do not want to be the fifth wheel in your group dinner date ," I looked up towards Donghae. " Besides, I don't even like him he's so... soo.. argh, besides do I need to remind you who my best friend is?" I called out.

Personally I don't really have a problem with Siwon, but my best friend Taecyeon on the other hand, does. Why ? Well they're the biggest rivals; simple as that! From middle school till now in College! I dont understand why though considering the fact they're both the co-captains for our college basketball team. Honestly, I think their animosity derives from their pride and according to Taecyeon, he says it's a "mutual hate," whatever that's suppose to mean in guy lingo talk.

"First of all," Donghae called out but paused and raised an eyebrow " That's not going to happen ok! And you're not going to be the 'fifth wheel' of the group Tiffany. Secondly, of course I know who your best friend " " is, besides I thought you didn't base your opinions of what other's thought about what the others feel about them?" he replied

" Oppa ... I... I can't - I have homework," I replied with a sigh, walking towards my back pack that was on my bed. "And to answer your question, Siwon isn't exactly a " great guy " you say he is." I called out

Donghae went across my bedroom towards the door before closing it behind him he and sighed. "Look Fany, I just really want to see you be more social. I'm not saying that your anti-social or anything, but it would be nice going out once every blue moon huh? It wouldn't hurt you, will it?" he called out. Then looking towards my books that I took out of my bag and continued.

"It's a Friday night Fany, just putting off some of your homework 'til tomorrow wouldn't kill you. Beside's Taecyeon doesn't run your life.! Please just give Siwon a chance, huh. For me? your loving caring brother??? "

I looked at my so called 'beloved' older brother and sighed... What's the point of arguing when I knew he wouldn't give up until he got what he wanted?

"Alright, alright, I will, but please don't let Jessica dress me. I seriously hate being her Barbie Doll," I sighed remembering the memories of Jessica and Yuri dragging me into my room and locking the door just to change my outfit during high school...

Donghae cracked up laughing holding on to my door nob, "I'll try my best Tiffany. But you should know, Jessica won't like this." he replied

" Well it's alright for me, cos her coldness's will not be unleashed on me, I'm not her boyfriend," I winked at him.

Donghae glared at me and I just had to laugh out loud. I walked towards him pushing him out of my room closing my door, locking it behind him, before walking over to my closet. I didn't really have any difficulty time in choosing what to wear thanks to my lovely mother and the girls who would go shopping for me. I really don't understand whats wrong with wearing jeans, a top and my all stars shoes, everyday."

I decide to wear my black skinny jeans with a plain tee shirt which did it for me. I pulled my hair up in a light messy bun and slipped on my boots before grabbing my leather jacket that was lying on the bed. As I walked down the stairs I found Donghae and his girlfriend Jessica talking quietly amongst themselves.

Jessica and Donghae acknowledged my presence and turned their heads towards me. Donghae gave me a small smile while Jessica, I could noticed, began to observe my outfit I was wearing. She frowned. I knew upon what she was about to do and I looked at Donghae with pleading eyes. He then gave me the 'I'm sorry,' look and I just sighed, so much for brotherly support.

"Tiffany, you cannot be serious! I bought you a new shirt last week and I haven't seen you wear it once!" Jessica scolded. "I'm sorry Jessica, it's just I'm really comfortable wearing my regular clothes," I gave her an apologetic look as I held out the edge of my shirt trying to emphasize my point.

She sighed, "Since we're about to be late, I'll let you slide this time. But just this one time, okay!" The glimmer in her eyes change making me nervous. " Since you didn't let me dress you tonight, I guess I'll be dressing you on Monday, " she finished, smiling her victoriously smile. I nodded my head warily " I'm doom " I called out to my self, There was honestly no point on arguing. When it comes to fashion, Jessica will stop at nothing to get her way and make you wear clothes that are 'in style' and 'chic.

They stepped out of the house first and I walked out after them, shutting and locking the door in the process. I had to admit, as good as we were situated financially, I never really liked to flaunt the amount of money we had, to me everyone is was counted as equals.

I headed towards the backseat of Donghae's car , while Donghae and Jessica occupied the two front seats. As soon as our seatbelts were on, we were off. The car ride was pretty silent, that's a miracle because everyone know's how much Jessica can talk.

I take that back now ... " Tiffany, I'm really happy you finally decided to come to dinner with us." Jessica called out while turning her attention towards me.

I must admit, even though Jessica and I have our disagreements on fashion, I really like her. Ever since she and Donghae started dating we've become closer. We may not talk much in school but outside of school was a slightly different story.

Sometimes she would bring Yuri and Hyoyeon over to my house while Donghae was at basketball practice. Some people think that all they care about was designer clothes and how great their boyfriends are, but there very wrong. My opinion is that these three are the nicest girls that I have had the pleasure of meeting. I can even say that they're probably nicer than some of the girls at school who aren't into the 'latest fashion' and flaunting their 'good looks'. They aren't judgmental and they are down to earth girls. True, there was a time were I my self judged them wrongly but as soon as I got to know them more I relies that I was completely wrong and reget to even have the those bad thought's of them in the first place.

Jessica, changed alot since her and Donghae started going out, at first she was cold towards me, and acted as I had never existed to her. I couldn't blame her though. Why would she want to talk to an ordinary looking girl like me? Jessica was without a doubt the most beautiful girl in school and she knew it. But as time went by, we just started getting along even before her and my twin brother got together.

Yuri, of course was the easiest to get along with. She's just naturally an all around friendly person with a good heart, and amazingly S line body.

Hyoyeon, is the mood maker which always makes me wonder how she does it. My first impression of her was in fact the funniest person I've meet. Along with an amazingly gifted talent of dancing.

"Well I had to give you little people some of my precious time," I replied playfully.

Jessica laughed, "I'm glad you graced us with your presence Fany " She then turn to look towards Donghae then turned back towards me, " Tiffany have you met Siwon yet? " she called out

Ah. Siwon Choi, 'Most popular and one of the hottest guys at our school campus' – hearing all the gossips from the girls' locker rooms. Also who just happened to be our star shooter for our school basketball team.

With a reputation like his, I was shocked to find out that the guy was actually pretty smart and did well in his classes. Boys like him don't give me the time of day. He was Yesung , Yuri's boyfriend, cousin. We were in the same grade and had a few classes together but we hardly ever spoke to each other.

"Nope," was my simple reply.

"Why not? Don't you two have like, a few classes together?" She asked, then raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean we actually talk." I reply

She nodded before asking knowingly, " cos.. of Taecyeon?"

"I guess you can say that. But it's not like Siwon has actually proved any of Taecyeon's accusations wrong."

"Yeah, but you shouldn't base your judgment of him on what your best friend says," Jessica replied wisely.

"So do you think Siwon is nice?" I asked after a moment of silence.

She turned back settling into her seat after looking at me before sighing, "Alright, I'll admit, he isn't exactly a 'saint' but who is? Once you get use to him, he actually isn't that bad of a guy."

"Well… I guess I could give him a chance tonight…" I replied unsurely.

Just what I was hoping for Jessica decided to drop the subject and started talking to Donghae about their shopping trip tomorrow. They invited me but, of course, I kindly declined. I honestly did not want to go with Jessica shopping with her ever again, No offense to her, but her Hyoyeon and Yuri has a major shopping addiction, it can be a little scary sometimes…

It wasn't long until we arrived to the place, we all stepped out to make our way towards the front entrance door of an Italian restaurant. Suddenly an unsettled feeling in my stomach grew with every step we took forward that I couldn't help but take in a huge gulp before entreating.

To tell you the truth all I wanted to do was get this dinner over with. I really didn't mind hanging out with them – I had no problem with Jessica, Donghae, or even Taecyeon, but I couldn't say the same for the basketball team, or as they were labeled as, "The Jocks / Populars." besides them the people I didn't mentioned before, Eunhyuk who's Hyoyeon boyfriend was another person who I didn't mind being around.

Donghae held the door open for me and Jessica. Jessica immediately spotted Yuri the rest of them. Yusang was seated on her right, with Siwon besides him with the most annoyed face I've ever seen, pretty much like myself, I could tell he didn't really want to be here aswell. Looks like we have something you could counted for something in common, as soon as they saw us Yuri stood up and gave me a big hug.

Followed by Yesung who gave me a hug right after before we all sat down. Donghae sat down beside Siwon while Jessica sat on his other side. I sat beside Jessica which put me in the middle of her and Yuri.

"I'm glad you came, 'DdilFany'," Yusang said using the nickname he made for me, thanks to Donghae.

That's one reason you gotta hate older brothers even though he's only 3.23 minutes older then me. Oh how they love to blab about all your embarrassing moments and mine just happened to be my clumsiness.

"Must you really call me that? I honestly haven't had any clumsy moments lately," I replied, trying to keep the faint blush from my cheeks. Donghe snorted I turned to look at him with a ice glare.

" Is that so little sis? Shall I remind you what happened yesterday?" Donghae asked with a smile on playing along his lips.

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest, "Hey, that doesn't count, especially since your damn shirt was lying on the ground instead of inside the laundry basket, where it should have been."

"Yeah yeahh just blame the innocent little shirt that was causing no harm to anyone at all, until you, who just so happens to step on it and magical somehow slip." Donghae replied with laughter along with Yesung booming laugh which was heard all over the restaurant. " You guys are so embarassing " Yuri called out then slapping the back of Yesung's head.

On the other hand my so called brother was still at it, and just as I was about to give him a swift kick underneath the table Jessica beat me to him and smacked Donghae at the back of he's head causing him to cry out of indignantly then pout at her. Ha, he deserved that. It's funny to seeingot my brother acts all tough yet his weakness is dainty by Jessica.

It wasn't long till our waitress arrived. She glanced up towards Yesung and Donghae but her eyes lingered longer more on Siwon. No surprise there, I've seen similar scenes like this everyday for the past three years so I was already use to it. Siwon noticed the girls lingering gaze and threw her a he's so called famous flirty smile in return. The waitress blushed and looked away shyly. I'm guessing she'll be added to his list tonight. It's so disgusting how he could change all he's 'girlfriends' just like changing clothes.

What's was more pathetic is that even though all the girls he's dated know that he's only using them, yet they still want to have a shot of being with him.

The waitress finally went around the table to take our orders. I ordered spaghetti since I haven't had that in a while. Once everyone placed their order, she walked away but not before giving Siwon one last smile which he returned with a wink. I swear if his 'moves' could kill; most of the girls in my school would have dropped dead a long time ago.

"So Donghae, will I be seeing you tomorrow?" Yesung asked, breaking the silence that was left when the waitress left.

"Nope, I'm going with Jessica to the Seoul. "

" Seoul? What for?"

Donghae sighed. "What else?"

Yesung's booming laugh was once again heard through out the restaurant. "I must say man, you are truly whipped." he called out

"Whipped? Donghae Lee Hwang is not whipped," Donghae replied indignantly, trying to salvage his pride.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Okay Oppa, whatever you say."

Donghae turned his head towards me with a slight glare, "You're supposed to be on my side here Fany."

"I am on your side, but I can't deny it if what Yesung says is true," I replied simply.

Donghae rolled his eyes and turned to look at Siwon. "So Siwon, I saw that waitress eyeing you,". Siwon chuckled " Yeah I noticed," he simply replied, with a smug look playing along hes his face. Seriously, how cocky can this guy get? There had to be some limit somewhere, shouldn't there? I called out to myself, making me to mumbled "I bet you did," underneath my breath, but suddenly his gaze turned towards my direction it was obvious that he heard me.

"Did you say something?" he asked.

"Nope," I answered plainly trying to sound clarm.

"Are you sure? I could have sworn I heard you say 'I bet you did'?" he reply

"Well if you clearly heard what I said, what's the point of asking me if I said had said something?" I replied, beginning to feel a bit aggravated, with a hint of sarcasm comming from my voice.

He chuckled. " I'm just making sure I heard you correctly." Its pretty much know that annoying me entertains him so much.

"Wow Siwon, that's a first," Yesung commented raising a brow.

"What are you talking about?" Donghae ask looking towards Yesung and Siwon.

"That's the first time a girl actually gave Siwon attitude," Yesung replied.

Yuri let out a small laugh, "You know babe, just because most of the female population in our school is in love with Siwon, doesn't mean there aren't any girls out there who aren't interested in him of course they would give him attitude." she replied with laughter.

"Aw, sorry Siwon. I guess not everyone falls for your charm," Yesung teased while Siwon glare at him in return.

" Yah! ," Siwon growled as he crumpled a the paper napkin in his hand and threw it at towards Yesung. After that, a while everyone just talk among themselves with small conversation while I sat quietly observing everyone around me. At one point, I actually thought about talking to Siwon, but in the end I decided not to. Anyways what in gods words could the two of us actually have in common? besides the fact that my best friend hated his guts? Suddenly, Donghae's phone started ringing.

Donghae: " Yeobsaeyo ? "

" Oh Eunhyuk, have use preformed yet ? "

Jessica: " Yah' put it on loud speaker " She tap Donghae on he's shoulder.

Donghae: " Hold on Eunhyuk I'll put you on loud speaker! Donghae placed he's phone in the middle of the table and hit the loud speak button. " Ok speak "

" What's up! " Hyoyeon shouted trying to sound gangsta.

" Hyoyeon we miss you aready. " Yuri called out

" What about me? " Yesung asked

" Yah! shhh" Yuri shout back putting her attention back on Donghae's phone.

" I miss all you guys, can't wait to see use, mian hae well need to get going there calling us back on stage."

" Ok Eunhyuk look after Hyoyeon " Jessica called

" Ye, Bye" both Eunhyuk and Hyoyeon both called out, then hanged up

" Naww I miss Hyoyeon " both Yuri and Jessica called out at the same time.

" Yea me too. " I reply

Moments later again Donghae's phone started ringing. He glanced at the screen and rolled his eyes before pressing the ignore button and looking up to meet my eyes. Even though no words were exchanged between us, I automatically knew who it was that just called.

It was Yunho my older Oppa.

"Why did you do that?" I asked. I knew my brothers didn't exactly get along well with each other but couldn't they at least act civil with one another?

"Why? I don't have time to waste talking to him?" Donghae replied with a hint of anger in his voice.

" Oppa, he's our older brother. You still need to respect him," I answered sternly.

But he just rolled his eyes. "I don't have respect for people who leave their younger siblings in their time of need," he paused and looked around the table. "We'll discuss this later Fany." But before I could say anything else my phone started ringing. I was Just about to answer it, but shooted a glance towards Donghae Oppa, but I let my hand drop my phone on my lap and ignored the constant ringing until it had eventually stop. In a way I was intimidated by Donghae.

I think runs in the genes or something. I heard Siwon snickered but I was too busy looking down a my lap, trying to not look a Donghae I could feel he's stared upon me. I then turned to look up a head and saw Siwon giving me one of his crooked smile.

"I guess we do have something in common then," He pointed out with a small smirk.

"Wae?" I asked confused. What could we possibly have in common? Except for the fact that we both went to the same school.

"It seems that we're both are intimidated by our hyung's ," He replied, glancing over to Yesung then to Donghae.

Surprisingly, I let out a small laugh, " Yeah, I guess we do."

"So Tiffany-shi," Siwon stated, leaning back and resting his arm on the back of the booth so he had a better view of me. Donghae and Jessica were leaning forward with their elbows on the table as they talked to the rest of the group. "What did Donghae do to you that made you come to this little dinner?"

"Nothing really, this is just benefiting him," I replied.

"ohh wae how so?" he asked

" Well to put things simple, Donghae wants me to have a social life." I reply

For some reason Siwon chuckled. "Wow, your brother makes you sound like you have low life."

I turned my head towards him and raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me and what do you mean by that?"

"Well, he's bringing you to tag along on their date. Wae? Don't you not have any other friends?" He asked, half serious and with a mocking tone to it. Now I finally remember why Siwon and I have never talked during classes. He was an simple as that. I really don't understand what did girls see in him? Because, honestly, all I seek is an egotistical jerk.

"Funny you ask that," I turned to him as I plastered on a fake smile on my face. "Isn't that the reason why your brother tagged you along? Cos you don't you have any friends as well ?" Payback was fun.

He shot me a look. "The look of, I could be doing a lot of other things than sitting here, but I'm doing this as a favor for my brother,".

"Mmhmm, nothing to say then, Siwon " I replied with a bored expression, while checking my nails. I realized it was all quite and looked up to see that the others had stopped thier conversation, I noticed that Donghae, Jessica, Yuri and Yesung were watching us.I awkwardly, I turned away from Siwon and fiddled with my hands on lap .

"Well at least I could actually have other plans," He mumbled but I heard every word. But chose to ignore it. Thankfully, the food arrived and we quietly started eating. Dinner started to go smoothly again with everyone involved in a conversation, well, except for Siwon and myself. Honestly, it was better this way. We didn't need to speak to each other because it would probably only lead to an argument. I was sure of that.

"So how's Taecyeon?" Siwon suddenly asked all of sudden. It took me a few moments to realize that he was actually talking to me.

"Why are you asking?" I asked defensively. I was't sure if he was trying to start something up.

"Wae can't a guy ask a simple question?" Siwon asked, innocence.

"Well, considering that everyone here and at school know's you and Taecyeon have nothing but hate for each other! So what I'm actually trying to point out is why are you asking about him?"

" Wahh well to be honestly, I'm pretty surprise you're even talking to me in the first place. Doesn't Taecyeon have a rule that all his friends and '' best friend '' aren't suppose to be talking to people that he hates?" Siwon replied with a smirk, while twirling he's straw in his drink.

"Look here, Taecyeon isn't an obsessive and bossy jerk like you are. And he certainly doesn't tell his friends or even he's '' best friend '' who they should or should not talk too," I replied in defense of my best friend.

By this time everyone on our table was looking at us, once again. I could tell that Yesung was quite amused with the scene in front of him. I guess he's never seen a girl talk to his cousin like this before.

"Bossy? Psh, I am not bossy." Siwon called out

Yesung and Donghae snickered with laughter. Making Siwon turned to them with glared before turning around an putting his attention back to me.

"Oh yeah, you're not bossy at all," I replied, with a hint of sarcasm. "So correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you tell some of the basketball players to mess around with Taecyeon?" I called out

" It isn't my fault that they didn't like your little boyfriend. Besides I had nothing to do with it." I replied back with serious face on, but I could see a small smile form along afterwards.

" Yeah Yeah, whatever you say," I said, rolling my eyes. To he's reply.

Our so-called conversation came to an end. Moments later Donghae asked for the bill and we all split it. As soon as our meal was paid for, I quickly stood up and headed for the door towards Donghae's car, trying to ignoring everyone's questioning gazes as I passed. I did what Donghae Oppa had asked for. I gave Siwon a chance it was so obvious that whatever Taecyeon had against Siwon he sure had the right reasons to hate him. It was all so clear now to me.
