She stared at the clock on the wall, the ticking of it reveberating against the entire house, making her feel sick to the core. It was torture, waiting up for her step-sister this late, when she could be using her time wisely for sleep, studies, or another girl.
" 3 AM...where is that girl?" Dragging a palm across her face and letting it fall back onto her bare lap, she peered through the see-through doors of the balcony, the tidal patterns of the waves at the beach their house overlooked ever so calming.
Summer was arriving soon, the Sun would come knocking on her door before she knew it.
She chuckled at that pun she just said in her head.
It was cold, how could her step-sister do this to her? Moonbyul was sitting on the sofa in nothing but her undies and a slightly see-through white tank top, her usual sleepwear. But nooooo, little Miss "Sunshine" just had to ruin everything for her, right?
Their parents were abroad for a business trip, their dog passed away a week ago, the tears streaming down Solar's face was fresh in Moonbyul's mind, the only time Solar was that sad was when she desperately tried to get drunk, only to remain frustratedly sober.
You see, love has many aesthetics.
The superficial one: it screams robotic grey and melancholic pink, such iconic colours giving people an uncomfortable feel.
The clarity one: it was as clear as translucent turquoise waters and as pure as diamond white. It was easy, direct and lovely.
But the love in this circumstance, was the forbidden one: it was mysterious with overlapping shades of unsure yellow and daring red, it was hot and full of passion.
" You're late. Again," Moonbyul spat the moment she heard the door open.
" Late? For what?" Solar asked cluelessly as she fumbled to pull her bra strap up. Her shirt was ed and the zipper of her shorts were down too, revealing her yellow .
" You kept me up," Moonbyul replied as she got off the sofa to stand up for dramatic effect. She had enough of this whole waiting up for her step-sister. What better way to end it than with a confrontation.
" So? It's not my fault you're waiting up for me..." Solar remarked sassily, flipping her hair for dramatic effect as well.
