The past five weeks had been the most amazing in Donghae’s life ever since his parents had passed away. His life had improved enormously ever since meeting Heechul, he honestly couldn’t believe it. Heechul was like a complete miracle sent down from God; Donghae felt as if his parents had seen him struggling and asked the high Lord to send someone along to save him from the poor life he was leading.

The fourteen year old boy was spending less time at his own apartment and more time at Heechul’s luxurious one. He had practically moved in with Heechul and Mir by now, since he was there pretty much every single day. The last time he’d been to his own apartment was at least a week ago. The first week, Heechul kept telling Donghae to stay another, over and over again. But now he didn’t even bother, and Donghae didn’t ask if he could stay. It was open invitation, because Heechul said he would be a failure as a parent if he let Donghae continue to live alone.

Hell, he’d even gotten Donghae a bed.

A very nice, probably expensive too (definitely fancier than anything he’d ever had before. He was never poor, but his parents had never been rich enough to afford a Temperapedic mattress). He got to sleep in Mir’s room, which was very exciting because it was like having a sleep over every night with a best friend.

And they were, they were the best of friends.

Maybe it was because they had both been so lonely and craved the companionship of another, or maybe it was just because they were both completely goofy and loved to have fun, but they had hit off right away.

And Heechul was just simply amazing. He was like the big brother that Donghae never had.

He took care of Donghae, never putting him second to his own son.

Each morning, Donghae woke up to a hot breakfast made specially by Heechul. When heading off to school, Heechul would hand him a packed lunch to keep him from being hungry. Later at night they all sat down to another meal together, as a family. Finally eating three meals a day, Heechul was very pleased to see that Donghae was gaining weight and looked a lot healthier than he did before.

Now he didn’t look like some scummy beggar child.

Except for his hair, at least.

And that was a problem for Heechul.

It was Sunday afternoon and he was busy tidying up the house while Mir and Donghae sat together on the couch watching a movie. Heechul looked glanced over at them while he dusted off the top of the television. He frowned when he looked at Donghae’s hair; it was really driving him crazy lately. It was getting way too long for his liking, nearly touching Donghae’s shoulders. The bleach blonde
