"There's a definite doom that's past pending, it can't be put on hold forever." 

The light green gas makes him wobble slightly to the side and the smell alone makes him want to bend over and hurl his breakfast out. It's a rotten smell and it hurts his lungs when he breathes in again, causing a slight dull ache to begin. The smoke causes his vision to become slightly blurred and every time he blinks, it stings. The stinging feels like a thousand needles continuous pricking at his eyes. He rubs them profusely hoping to get rid of whatever was in there. He is naive because he knows it's from the gas. There's a loud rhythmic thumping in his ears from the blood rushing in his ears, his heart feels like it's trying to break out of his chest and his mind is racing. So many possibilities are running through his head and yet he can't seem to focus. He blinks once more and commands himself to calm down.

Stepping from the green mist is a figure that he tries to make out but he can't. It hurts too much to focus on one thing for long. Whatever, this gas was, it was doing a good job of messing with his senses. 

     "Do you think you can stop me?" 

It's perplexing to hear it. The question was asked as if someone was telling a beginning of a tale. Something you would read out of Aesop's tales, the tone was mocking. Gripping his weapon in one hand the hero stood glued to his spot. What in the he-

Like a flash of light, the mysterious person was behind. Puffs of breath tickled his earlobe and the hair on the back of his neck stood up.

     "I watched the world burned down and you with it. I saw your ashes fall to the ground and your name was written in it. Don't get too close to the sun, Icarus."

The voice behind the words was soft and velvety that held secrets that were too good to be held on to. The confession was enough to make him stiffen and cause his heartbeat to pick up and hammer continuously in his chest. Enough to make him stop in his tracks and drop his weapon. There's an unwarranted knot in his stomach that feels like it's weighing him down and it has him trapped in place. Ice cold fingers grazed his own fingertips as they rip the artifact from his grip and he swings around to look at them. There is nothing standing behind there except for his own shadow. Although, phantom touches linger on his fingers as he lets out a shaky breath. 

The brunette shakes his head, trying to literally remove the words from his mind and picks up his weapon from the ground. Around him is chaos and he can't seem to find anyone who he was working with. His ears ring and he closes his trying to focus and think of where the rest of the team was. It's been a long time since he's relived those ... nightmares. Those were not memories, but nightmares. His hands shake and there's a sickening feeling like he's going to disappear again.  He hasn't been this shaken, then when he was in the military when he first learned to test his wings and feel the light tickle of the wind on his face as he would fly in the sky. It had reminded him of when he couldn't get to his best friend in time and watched as he fell to his death.   

Icarus. That's what his squad had called them self as a joke. How could someone know about that? There were a selected few who he opened up about his past. 

He wasn't sure who this person was but it was enough to make him ignore his teammates shouting for him.

Hey, there! This isn't my greatest writing so please excuse me and the failure of trying to write. (Lol I'm super impressed with myself and coming up with that quote). However, please enjoy this teaser as I get back into things. If anyone's wondering, the POV is from Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. I thought it would be interesting to see another glimpse of the antagonist of this story through his eyes and his feelings on Infinity war. FYI, I've seen IW and ... yeah. (Senna wasn't really feeling it). There is a theory about a certain part of the film and the Soul stone and that's all I will leave you with. If you wish for me to explain then by all means comment below and I will discuss this theory with you. By the way, I am finished with school and you now have my full attention. Although I did spend the weekend, playing sims 4 and catching up on series. Reviews will be back up but I'm literally so slow right now ... so look out for that too.
