PK just looks over at where Remi is talking to his father. He shook his head at the sight.

The girl had only been there for five days and she already had the older man wrapped around her cute little pinky finger. On her head sat his father’s most prized possession, his hat, which even Prasong couldn’t wear yet Remi was wearing as she skipped after the man she now called Big Daddy.

PK didn’t even know he could get jealous of his father but here he was pouting because Remi seemed to follow his father as if she was his shadow

“Big Daddy” Remi said with her thick accent as she held on to his father’s arm “What are those grains for?”

“We use it for live stock. It’s called silage” He said as he casually pushed the hat further down her face.

‘Wouldn’t want little Remi getting sun burned’ PK thought sardonically

“Do you have a lot of cows, Big Daddy?” She asked as she touched the grain trying to understand what made it different than the rest.

He just followed behind the duo as they talked about cows and farming.Whenever he’d go into detail about what he’d done on the farm, as a kid, her eyes would always glaze over yet here she was hanging on to every word out of his father’s mouth

A squawk arose in the air from PK and Udom’s walkie talkies before Fumie’s voice could be heard “Everyone time to eat”

“Come on” Udom said as he escorted Remi out. Neither even paid attention to PK as they left

As he walked behind him he could hear Remi going on about how his mother had promised to make some special kind of dish that she couldn’t pronounce but was excited to eat

He grumped in amusement since his mother usually just made what she felt like whenever he visited

All throughout dinner Remi could see that PK was deep in thought about something.

In front of them was a thing called Osechi Ryori. It was beautiful and even though Remi didn’t particularly like all of the food she did appreciate Fumie’s effort and thus ate with relish. There was no way in hell she could finish the huge batch of food the Fumie had given to each of them but she tried her best to sample everything in the three boxes she’d been given especially the lobster

PK on the other hand picked at his food even as Fumie let her know that Datemaki or Sweet rolled Omelette was PK’s favorite dish

Remi looked at him in concern as she gave him one of hers since he was being oddly quiet

“Prasong… Are you okay?” She asked gently

He just smiled and nodded.

That was a complete lie. Later she would get him to admit to it

“What’s wrong?” Remi asked as she looked at her boyfriend

They were out in the field watching the stars. His mother had insisted that they go out and enjoy themselves before they had to leave in two days

He laid down and looked up “Nothing is wrong… Why do you ask?”

“Because you’ve been extremely quiet for the last couple of days. Are you upset that I’m here?”

He grinned before pulling her to him “Besides the feeling of jealousy because my dad likes you more than he likes me this has nothing to do with me being happy that you’re here.”

She giggled as she snuggled into his hold “Your dad doesn’t like me more”

He just grinned before sighing “He does. My mom does too”

“Is it bothering you that much?” She said with a frown as she laid on his chest and looked into his eyes

He shook his head no “ Not really. It’s not that”

“Then what is it?” She asked exasperated

He just chuckled before he thought of what he was going to say “I’m just thinking of the future”

She cocked his head “What about it?”

“A lot of things that are weighing on my mind right now… I don’t want to ruin our date”

“You should be able to tell me anything that’s bothering you”

He sighed and covered his eyes with his arm “Later when I figure out how to even express myself”

She pouted but then nodded since he deserved to come to term with whatever was bothering him

“Okay”

Embarrassment ate at him slightly. She was only trying to help and didn’t know a lot of his struggle was due to her “Sorry darling”

She just shrugged before snuggling closer to him “It’s okay”
