Joy, Sanaai and Lexia sat on Remi’s bed as they watched her lose her mind. They were having a blast since they were eating pizza and were in a warm room as they were given a show

Joy just chuckled and ate another slice of pizza as she watched her friend’s mental breakdown

Sanaai snickered and took another swig of her soda as she looked over at a red faced Lexia who was struggling to hold in her laughter

“I mean… Nothing is going to happen right?” Remi asked her friends

“No of course not” She answered herself back not even giving her friends the time to answer back even though they weren’t going to since it was so much fun to see her suffer

“I mean.. It’s not that serious” She stammered before promptly having another heaving breathless panic attack

That was all that Lexia could take as she broke down into peals of laughter. She laughed so hard that she shook the bed and had tears rolling down her face

Her abrupt laughter made Joy choke on her pizza and Sanaai snort out soda.

Remi looked over at them as Lexia was wiping away tears while trying to give Joy a half assed heimlich.

“Are you guys okay?” She asked in worry as she saw her friends laughing while in pain

“Yeah..Yeah” Sanaai said as she wiped her face since she had tears rolling down her eyes and snot along with soda coming out of her nose

“I’m not” Joy said hoarsely as she took a sip of her water since the pizza had almost killed her “I’m honestly dying”

“I’m with her” Lexia said holding her rib cage since she’d laughed too much “I think I almost peed on myself”

“What was so funny anyways?” Remi asked in worry since she didn’t know what was wrong with her friends

“You. You’re what’s funny” Lexia said in amusement as she scurried to Remi’s private bathroom to pee while keeping the bathroom door open so she could hear everything that was said

“Me? Why am I funny?” She asked in confusion

“Because” Sanaai said as she wiped her face for the last time before turning back to her friend “You’re having a freaking panic attack because of PK”

“I… I mean… He… HE INVITED ME TO HIS HOUSE!!!” She blurted out worriedly

“Well yeah. You guys have been dating for 4 months now. He’s been in your room almost every weekend. I’m not really understanding the problem here” Joy said in confusion

“How ? How?” Lexia shouted from the bathroom

“Because. It’s a singular room. Surrounded by other people who can come if I need them”

The girls’ laughter faded as they looked at Remi who was finding her desk extremely interesting

“Rem… Did it really take you guys a month to kiss?” Sanaai asked in shock “Especially with how he looks at you?!?!”

“As if he’s on constant alert. You make any sudden movement and he would have you on your back with your feet in the air quicker than you can say Yes” Lexia called from the bathroom. Her sweet Georgia accent at odd with the words she just spoke

“Oh shut up Remi. Yes he does” Lexia said in amusement as she came out of the bathroom while wiping her hands since she’d washed them “Which is why it’s weird that he waited a month to kiss you”

“He didn’t wait a month to kiss me though” Remi mumbled as she picked a piece of lint off of her shirt

“Oh?” Lexia asked as her eyes narrowed “...How long did he wait?”

‘Not a month“ She said looking away

“Don’t tell me” Sanaai said in shock “Remi NO!!!”

“No what?! No what?!” Joy asked confused

“You haven’t kissed yet?!?!”She asked in shock

“No way” Joy said in amusement before she had to gape in shock since Remi’s head had dropped in embarrassment

“He said I wasn’t ready” She mumbled as she started fretting again

Lexia just looked at her friend in horror “Are you serious?!”

Remi just nodded even as she fixed one of the pictures on her wall “He said I was still nervous of him and he wanted me to want him completely before he kissed me”

The was a moment of silence as the remaining girls just looked at each other in shock

Finally Lexia spoke “Suga’...You sure this boy ain’t a little sweet?”

Both Remi and Joy turned to look at her “Sweet?”

Sanaai snorted “That boy ain’t sweet. He looks at Remi if she’s a fudgesicle on a hot summer’s day and he’s a little boy who can’t wait to take a bite… or a nibble… or a ”

Sanaai and Lexia started to howl at that as Remi and Joy looked on in confusion

Joy spoke first “What does sweet mean?”

“What is a fudgesicle?” Remi added on in confusion

Sanaai snorted as she rose and went to wrap her arm around Remi “Sweet , my dear Joy, is when a man is batting for the same team”

“Oh we know” Sanaai said with a chuckle “That’s why we said he looks at you the way he does. Like his personal fudgesicle”

“And a fudgesicle is a type of ice cream… an ice cream that is a lot like you, Rems.” Lexia said amused “All chocolatey and sweet…. And if someone were to you the right way”

Lexia and Sanaai finished together “You’d absolutely melt”

The look on Remi’s face sent them into peals of laughter again

A week later that fudgesicle joke was still dead center in Remi’s mind. Today was the day that she’d go to PK’s house to hang out

She was sweating like a witch in church. She was trying her hardest to find clothes that were attractive without making it so obvious that she liked him.

All of Lexi and Nai’s jokes were getting to her head and she was overthinking everything. She knew without a doubt that she wasn’t being rational but even as she tried to tell herself to calm the hell down her mind kept going into what ifs.
