In one of an elite hotel in South Korea, one of the function hall was being used. The hall were filled with beautiful chairs all lined up facing a beautiful indoor altar, decorated with dozens of flowers. The priest was already standing by the altar, the groom besides him and his best man. The guests were all obviously so excited. The center aisle emphasized with red carpet, its side accentuated with flowers arranged beautifully. A wedding was obviously gonna take place sooner or later.

Meanwhile, on another function hall beside it, the guests were growing restless. It was also beautifully designed, almost identical as the other hall. The only difference was the groom was still not there, and neither did his best man.

In the meantime, in a room just a floor below, a young woman was sitting in front of the vanity table, looking at her reflection. Just then the door opened, revealing a tall, pretty woman with a pale complexion wearing a baby blue colored gown. “Unnie! 15 minutes and were gonna start already,” Krystal, the bride’s sister and one of the maids-of-honor exclaimed. Kwon Yuri, the other maid-of-honor rolled her eyes.

“We know it Krystal. You don’t have to shout,” she said and even crossed her arms. Krystal made face at Yuri and approached her unnie.

“Waah. Yepuda. I want to be as pretty as you when I also get married, unnie,” Krystal muttered as she put her hands on her sister’s shoulders. Jessica just smiled and looked at her sister through the mirror. Krystal’s eyes suddenly widen. “Oh crap. I forgot. Your wedding planner said your vows should be ready, unnie. You already have one, right?” Krystal asked but silence only answered her.

“Sica, we left the copy of your vow at your house. Ottoke?” Yuri asked, panic in her voice. She was now walking back in forth.

“Yul, calm down,” Jessica called her best friend.

“Don’t tell me to calm down, Jung Sooyeon. How could I when you obviously don’t have a vow to say later?” Yuri answered and even glared at her.

“Gwenchana, Yuri-unnie. Let’s just make a new one,” Krystal said and faced her sister. “Unnie, just try to think what you wanted to promise to the man you love with all your heart. Let the words came from your heart,” Krystal instructed her sister as she grabbed some paper and pen, ready to write the vow. Jessica closed her eyes. An oath to the man he loves?

Jessica felt something ticklish in the back of her neck. She groggily grunted and moved a little but she felt something pulled her back. She sleepily opened her eyes and glanced at her bedside table. Her alarm clock showed that it was a quarter past midnight. She moaned and turn around to see her boyfriend, hugging her, his breath fanning her neck.               “Oppa? You’re still awake?” she asked as she weave her hand on his hair. She smiled when she heard him groan.   “You know me. I'm hungry,” he said and moved a little so their faces were inches apart. She rolled her eyes and his ever so famous smirk appeared.

She sit up and held out her hand for him. “Let’s go and buy you some bread,” she invited, knowing that he always like to eat bread as his midnight snack. He just gazed at her and a genuine smile plastered on his face. He took her hand and pulled her back on bed. He snuggled close to her and rest his chin by her shoulder.   “I love your hair, its fiery red. You’re so beautiful. I still couldn’t believe you are mine,” he murmured and she couldn’t help but giggled.   “You’re being cheesy. How about making a poem for me?” she joked which made him laughed.

“I first met him one cold winter day. His hair was long back then but everything about him spoke so much manliness. He smiled that silly smile of his and I knew there’s no escaping,” Jessica softly started, her eyes closed, his face entering her mind. Those piercing eyes and -dropping smirk.

“I love the way he says I’m beautiful especially that time when I dyed my hair red and everyone said it was so ugly. I love the way he woke up around midnight and indulge in eating freshly baked bread in a bakery near our apartment before. I love the way he just kissed me and told me I’ve done alright even though I cut his hair myself one night.

“Just so all the people know, I loved him first. Beneath all the lies, one truth remains, I love him,” Jessica gently whispered. She opened her eyes and saw through the reflection of the mirror her maid-of-honor, crying. She sadly smiled at Yuri.

She stood in front of him, her face never betraying the emotions battling in her. She was actually hurting, seeing him crying like that. She hated herself because she knew she was the reason behind those tears. But she have to do this. This is for their future anyway.   “Oppa, please,” she whispered and held his hands but he didn’t looked at her, instead he was bowing down, looking at their joined hands.   “Don’t go, Sooyeon-ah. Please, don’t leave me,” he pleaded as he chock on his tears. Jessica forced herself not to cry though she felt her tears forming on the back of her eyes.   “I have to. I wanna start my own business,” she reasoned out and she took a deep breath to calm herself.   “You can open Blanc & Eclare here in Korea, why go there?” he argued, still not looking at her. He knew that her decision was final. She was always the type of person that once she was determined to do something, nothing could stop her.   “We’re not sure if Blanc & Eclare would click her in Korea. But for sure it will be successful in China. Please understand, oppa. I need to go there,” Jessica said as she felt him intertwining their fingers together. She closed her eyes and felt her tears finally flowing down her cheeks. Too much of trying to be the ice princess she was. She was going to leave the love of her life, this is too much.   “I can go with you,” he said, finally looking straight on her eyes. He slowly let go of her hands and cupped her cheeks. “We can live in China together, Sooyeon-ah,” he added and smiled at her though his tears were still staining his cheeks. Jessica opened her eyes and shook her head.   “No. Oppa don’t. Your family will get angry at me. You are being trained as the next CEO, you can’t possibly leave,” Jessica said, she held his hands that were on her cheeks.   “We could work this out, oppa. Promise, I will always call and chat with you. We will always communicate, everyday,” she tried to persuade him. He removed his hands on her cheeks and moved them on her neck as their forehead touched, their eyes automatically closed.   “I love you Jung Sooyeon. Don’t break this promise,” he said which made her smile.   “Oppa, saranghe,” she whispered before she felt his lips covering hers.

“I’m sorry if I had to go and hurt him. I know 2 years was too much. Eventually everyone forgot about us. Even us, ourselves, forgot the feelings, thus we parted ways.” Jessica took a deep breath, trying to keep the tears from coming out.

They stood, face to face, about 6 feet apart, awkwardness inclosing them. He stood there, staring at her. She obviously changed. Her red hair that he loved was now dyed blonde. She looked paler than before. Everything looked different. Jessica was also surveying him through her sunglasses and couldn’t help but notice the changes in him too. His hair that she cut was now styled to look more formal. He was wearing a tuxedo, emitting a professional aura, so different from the goofy guy she loved. Indeed, changes happened. Two years of not seeing each other, no communication whatsoever.   He inhaled deeply and approached her. He bowed at her which she returned with a bow. He grabbed her luggage and carry it towards the exit of the airport. They boarded his Ferrari 59XXX and the awkwardness escalated as he drove on the freeway. He hated the silence, he always did and he knew that she knew.   “So, how’s China?” he asked, his eyes never leaving the road. He felt her shifted and turn to look at him.   “Oh. China’s fine. Blanc & Eclare is doing well, too,” she said, no emotions on her voice at all. He just nodded, not knowing what to say to that.   ‘So it was so fine you forgot you have a fiancée waiting at you here in Korea?’ Is that what he was supposed to say? Because truthfully he didn’t want to say that. If she had come back a year ago, maybe he had asked that, but now, nah, he didn’t feel angry or resentful anymore.   “How about you? How’s SJ Company?” Jessica asked, looking outside the window. He smiled at the mention of his family’s company.   “It’s doing great. I was given the CEO position last year and everything is smooth sailing. We were even planning of expanding and maybe merging it with another company, EXID,” he answered, excitement evident in his voice. This made Jessica turn to look at him, a genuine smile on his face. “EXID’s CEO’s daughter, Heeyuon, is helping me in convincing her father. You should meet her, she’s amazing,” he added and Jessica nodded at this.   “Sure, she sounds nice,” she said though something was bothering her. “Are you . . . do you like her?” she asked and he suddenly hit the brakes because of her question. He looked at her, surprise obviously on his face. “I just . . . I don’t mean . . .” Jessica stammered when she saw his expression changed from being surpris
