**This chapter takes place at around episode 3-4, before the selection of the prince's wife. This is my adaptation of how things would've been if I were her. Not very good, of course.**

"Yeon woo-ah, stay home and read your books okay? I'm going to the palace to tutor the young prince. No matter what, don't come along. It might be dangerous." Yeom said, and I rolled my eyes.

I knew he was going, and I was sure he was just making sure that I won't follow. Of course, that won't happen.

"Listen to your brother." My mother chided as she took a few things here and there and stuffed it in a cloth.

"Where are you going, mother?" I asked, and she grinned widely. 

"Your father and I are going on a trip. Isn't that great?!" I hid my smile. My parents were naturally close, so it made sense.

"Seol-ah, Yeom-ah, take care of Yeonwoo and make sure she doesn't get in trouble, okay?" Father bent over to whisper to Yeom and Seol, and they looked at me and nodded.

"I'll see you in a few days, dear. Bye!" My parents left.

My brother gave me a warning, that there would be consequences, before leaving. Not caring what he actually meant, I shrugged the note off and played around with Seol.

We were so tired chasing each other around that I was panting heavily. Seol, who sadly just remembered she still had chores to do, hurried inside to clean the house.

I sat at the steps to our lovely house and sighed. It was too boring. Being a noble girl is tiring. You always have to act so prim and proper, and I'm sure none of the other girls would want to run around with me anyway. Not that they could anyway; differing from the norm would be looked down upon the society. In fact, playing outside could get me arrested and punished according to the law, though luckily I lived in a more secluded area.

That's the sad reality.

I sighed again, tapping my feet against the floor.

Then, a thought struck me.

Why not I go pay my orabeoni a 'visit'? Maybe, I would even get to see the lovely prince...I blushed at that thought.

I packed some resources like food and water and set off.

 Coincidentally, as I reached the tall palace gates, I met the princess. 

"Yeonwoo! Where is your charming brother?"

"He's tutoring the his highness, your highness. Shall we go in together?" I asked hopefully, and she did not disappoint.

"Just call me Minhwa. Let's go!" She exclaimed enthusiastically.

We ran off to where the prince was.

"So, if you follow the book of..." I heard my brother trail off as he tutored the prince.  We were peaking through a small hole near the roof with a ladder.

"What should I do to impress orabeoni's teacher?"

"I do not know, your high- I mean Minhwa. Maybe we should sneak up on them?" I suggested. How do I find a way not to embarrass myself in front of the Crown prince?

 A lady in waiting saw the princess and told her that her father wanted to see her. She scurried off quickly, after telling the ladies and everyone else not to disturb me, wishing me luck on whatever I planned to do.

 Just then, the Prince started speaking. "Your dongsaeng...what is she like?" I blushed, but orabeoni cleared his throat.

"Where do your curiosities come from, my dear highness? Let's proceed with our lesson."
