It is Friday afternoon already and still there is no call or message from Taekwoon. Eunji wonders if he is still mad at her or did he really got mad at her. She felt disappointed in herself. Without even thinking twice, she dials his number.

“Hello.”

“Hello, it’s me Eunji.”

“How are you, sweetie? How’s everything?”

“Uhmm, o-oppa…I was just thinking..if you’re not busy tonight…can we meet?”

“Tonight? S-sure…where? Shall I pick up?” A little awkward but an excited voice makes Eunji’s heart flutters. He’s not that mad at her otherwise he would reject her invitation.

“Uhmm..no..I’ll just meet you near Han River at 11 PM tonight..Is that okay with you?” She felt nervous. She wants to change her mind but then it’s too late to back down now. Still deep inside, she is excited to see him again. Why days seems too slow? A week seems forever. She’s starting to feel that little butterflies flying in her stomach again.

“Ok..anytime, anywhere as you wish..I’ll be there.” Taekwoon then hangs up the phone and he smiles. Well, some things never change. He can feel his important now. He decided not to call her because he does got disappointed and felt sad that she prioritized Kim Sunggyu over him. He wants to reject her invitation but how can he do it when just her voice makes her heart jumps to excitement. She even called him first. He should be thankful for that.

“Hi..you’ve arrived.” Taekwoon was standing and leaning against the door of his car when he saw Eunji coming out of her own car parked almost beside his. He was waiting there for about 20 minutes. He went earlier than the agreed time.

“Oh hello..you’re early.” Eunji smiled at him.

“No, I just arrived also.” There goes white lie again.

Eunji took something from the backseat of her car, a basket. Taekwoon was surprise but went to give her a hand. Eunji smiles at him allowing him to take the basket. She was all prepared for this little picnic thing at night. She took out the cloth and spread it on the grass as a mantle and took out some lunchboxes and a bottle of wine, 2 glasses, 2 pair of chopsticks. Taekwoon can’t contain his excitement. He stared at her while she did the picnic preparation. So beautiful is his ex-wife. He missed her doing this for him.

“Wow, when did you get the time to prepare for all of these?”

“That’s why I told you we should meet at 11 so that I can still do these. Are you impressed? She even brags about it which makes Taekwoon’s heart flutters.

“Well, very much..by the way, what’s the occasion”

“Nothing..I just wanted to eat like this. I miss having a picnic like this.” She can’t even say the true reason. But it’s a half truth that she misses having to eat with him on a picnic like this. The last time they went on a picnic together was in Busan. They went to visit her family and decided to eat out on field, Picnic as everyone says. It was so nice that she misses it much.

“The sky is clear tonight. There are so many stars. I still love the breeze of the river at this hour.” Eunji said while opening the lunch boxes.

Taekwoon opens the wine and pour it on the glasses. He then gives one half-filled glass to Eunji.

“Cheers.” Then they sip on their glasses and laugh at each other.
