Vacation Time

[HIATUS] Little Colorful Butterfly

Ever since their bickering last night, JIyeon has been sitting on the plane feeling antsy and guilty. She sometime would look at him surreptitiously who is sitting across the row, near the window. Although sometime Hoya would catch her doing that, Jiyeon would just smile to Hoya and pretend to enjoy the view.

Jinyoung pats Jiyeon's left arm and points to view outside. "Check this out," he says.

Jiyeon, who is sitting next to him in the plane, slouches inside him and suddenly, her cheecks turn red when she could smell his cologne. Jiyeon pulls back a little, embarrassed.

"See that mountain?" JInyoung asks, oblivious the whole situation.

"Yup," she answers, forcing a nod. "What is that mountain?"

"It's Mount Yotei. Don't get confused with Mount Fuji cuz when it's winter time, like now, those two mountains really look alike."

"Oh," JIyeon gasps. "Your intelligence amuses me."

"I appreciate the compliment." Jinyoung and jIyeon then burst into a small laugh as if they have shared an inside joke.

Hoya, after taking a short glance at Jinyoung and Jiyeon's private joke, turns to face L. Joe and shrugs. "I wonder what's so funny. I mean, that Fuji Mountain looks completely humorless to me."

                L. Joe glances shortly at their neighbors after hearing Hoya says that. He looks at them, Jiyeon especially and wonders about the same thing as Hoya. "Whatever," he says, rolling his eyes. "Who cares anyway?"

"I do," Hoya suddenly says. "Since you've been in this plane, you've been so cold and quiet. Look, if you prefer to hang out with those two instead of me, I completely understand. I've been feeling a little left out since the day you guys kept the secret away from me."

                L. Joe sighs at the sad expression plastered on Hoya's face. "Don't be such a woman, Hoya. It's not even a big deal."

"If it's not such a big deal, then why can't you tell me now?"

"Fine," L. Joe snorts. "First thing we get off this plane, I'll tell you everything. Now will you stop being a baby and enjoy the vacation?"

Hoya shoots L. Joe a judging look. "Dude, I'm totally enjoying the vacation. The real question is, are you?"

                L. Joe runs his gaze over to their neighbors again, and this time, Jiyeon seems to be engrossed in Jinyoung's talking about something, and that situation comes a little envious to him. Why should he though?

"I am," he lies in a flat tone and sinks in the chair. "Now don't bother me."

Hana and his husband are the first couple to gain the keys to their room. The bell boy who has been standing by the elevator, finally pushes the trolley in, and halts the elevator for the couple to get in.

"What about you guys?" Shinhwan asks. "And Jiyeon, aren't you going to be in the same room with your mother and I?"

Jiyeon smiles, embarrassed, and shakes her head. "Dad, I'm eighteen. I've told Mr. Lee to get a separate room."

"She did?" Shinhwan quickly raise his gaze towards his friend. "She did?"

Kyumin, who seems busy with the receptionist, gives him a nod."It's okay, Shinhwan. You two go check into your room first, and see if you need anything, or take a rest from the flight. Besides, it's almost dinner time. We can have some talk and plan more about our trip at dinner."

"Okay," Shinhwan finally says and gives Jiyeon a shrug. "If you need anything, you know where my room is. But be sure to knock first," he ends with a wink.

"Too much information, dad," she says, making a face.

Kyumin turns to the receptionist and asks on about their dinner plan. "I hope there won't be any problem at tonight's dinner."

The Japanese lady who had big eyes like on the characters in anime smiles shortly at him and politely says, "We can guarantee you sir that tonight's dinner will go as planned. Red lobster and the finest wine from 1967, and of course, the young teenagers shall be served orang juice."

"Perfect," he says, laughing greatly. "I really look forward to it."

Just then, another lady of the counter comes in bringing them a bundle of keys to the available rooms. "We're truly sorry for the inconvenience we've caused you. Our last customers have extended their stay here while other suites are still unavailable. Here are the keys, sir. If you need anything, press double 9 to reach our customer service."

"It's understandable." Kyumin takes the keys that were handed to him and signs the paperwork regarding the stay here at Grand Hirafu Village Resort. "It's New Year's eve."

"Got they keys dad?" L. Joe comes from behind, and bows shortly back to the ladies who have bowed to him. Talk about Japanese manners. "Perfect. Can I have mine?"

"Here you go," Kyumin hands L. Joe one key. "Your roomies are your buddies, minus Jiyeon of course."

                L. Joe raises his brow, and shakes his head at his dad's lame joke. "See you tonight, dad."

Kyumin thanks the receptionist first before walks towards Jiyeon. "Your key, young lady and have a good time here. Oh and your parents' room is just in front of yours."

"Thanks a lot, sir," she smiles to him as she takes the key. "I really appreciate you getting me a separate room."

"Of course," Kyumin grins big, amused by the beautiful features Jiyeon has; her smile especially.

It's eight pm sharp when Jiyeon's parents call her to get ready for dinner. The dinner's at 8.30 pm and Jiyeon still hasn't dressed for it. She has literally laid down each and every dress she brought with her on the trip and nothing seems to appeal her. She brought 4 dresses with her, and one of them is strapless, so cancel that, while one of them is a see-through, so cancel that either. She doesn't even know what went through her mind that morning when she packed her bag up. Finally she settles for a long turquoise dress, a pair of bedazzled blue flats and red short blazer. It's only dinner anyway.

Someone has knocked on her door whilst doing her make-up. The make-up is nothing heavy, but it is still time-consuming.  Jiyeon grabs her purse, hurries to door and she peeks through the eye-hole on the door to find out who is it, and it turns out to be Jinyoung.

Jiyeon opens the door, and her appearance definitely takes Jinyoung's breathe away. And as much ridiculous as the thought Jinyoung has, he still believes that Jiyeon's beauty has faded all the lights around her so that she can shine on her own, all by herself.

"Err" Jiyeon stutters awkwardly because Jinyoung hasn't shown much positive respond. "It's the red jacket isn't it?" I'm sorry but I forgot to bring my other jacket."

"No," he denies strongly. "It's not that jacket. It's just that, you look really beautiful this evening."

"Really?" She asks, unsure of his sincerity. "You think so?"

"I know so," Jinyoung smiles pleasantly and draws his hand out. "Shall we?"

"We shall," she answers with a small shy smile after closing the door behind her. "You know, this reminds me of our first dance at the prom. Do you remember?"

"I do," he nods. "Every detail of it."

Jiyeon looks down and everywhere but at Jingyoung as she is unable to stop the flaming sensation she feels against her cheeks despite the cold evening. Her heart is beating irregularly either and that adds up to her anxiety.

Hoya, who comes out of the a little late, grab Jinyoung's available arm and hooks his arm around his. With a teasing smirk, he says, "Don't forget your old wife here."

"Hoya," Jinyoung says, rather surprised. Jiyeon hurriedly lets go of her hand that was linking with Jinyoung's. She smiles awkwardly when Jinyoung glances momentarily at her.

"Oh by the way, L. Joe's not joining us for dinner."

"What's wrong with him?" Jiyeon asks again, scrapping all the notions of what Jinyoung might think of her because she knows he knows all about her past with L. Joe.

Jinyoung then face-palms himself for forgetting to tell JIyeon about L. Joe's sick condition. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you about L. Joe. Unfortunately L. Joe caught some flu-"

"He's sick?" Jiyeon interferes carelessly without waiting for Jinyoung to finish talkWN AND HIS GFing.

"Well, yeah," Hoya nods, continues where Jinyoung left off. "But his dad has come to check on him earlier, and he even called a doctor in to check him out. He's resting for now. So, I mean, it's just an ordinary fever. Nothing serious."

"Oh," Jiyeon says, lowering her gaze down. "That's a relief then."

"So," Hoya says, clearing his throat. "Shall we get going now? I think we're late."

Chapter 3: i know it's nothing to do with the stroy characters but this is just sooo sweet aww taemin

"And Taemin,” Mrs. G. Na calls the most awkward boy in the class who uses colored pen to write essays. As if he’s that good in English to do so. “Please, I beg you, please don’t use any kind of colored pen to write my essay anymore. I like pink color and all, but black or blue is supposedly to be an appropriate color for students to use when writing. This is my last warning, okay?”
