Luhan’s father was best friends with Dr. Kim, a well-known cardiologist, who apparently was the doctor who had been treating Sehun ever since the kid was six. So one day when Dr. Kim showed up on the New Year party along with his son Minseok, which also was Luhan’s best friend, the man was startled when he saw Sehun munching up cupcakes like a little boss he was.

“What are you doing here?” the man asked calmly. “And what I’ve told you about too much sweets, Sehun?” that, however, didn’t sound really that calm.

Sehun, despite being caught red-handed, only stared at the doctor with zero interest in his eyes.

And a little chaos ensued. Minseok pulled Luhan back with him to watch from the sides as Dr. Kim started scolding Sehun for having a sugar-spree despite his health conditions (which Luhan didn’t know yet at the moment), and then Luhan’s mother came to the rescue, asking what did the little angel do that Dr. Kim was in rage, which had resulted in Sehun bowing politely at her before he flew out of the house. Luhan caught a glimpse of Dr. Kim talking to his mother in whispers before he followed his sudden instinct to catch up with Sehun.

The night air was ridiculously cold, considering it was still in the middle of winter, and Luhan suddenly regretted his heroic act because he was freezing. Constantly freezing. His nose was already red and it felt like he was wearing an ice cube on it. But he kept walking aimlessly to find Sehun, depending his luck on the dim street lights at the neighborhood. He was in the middle of considering about shouting Sehun’s name in the middle of quiet street when he finally spotted the said kid, sitting on the pavement at the side of the road.

“You crazy little pimp,” Luhan breathed out as he finally arrived next to Sehun, “I might die out of cold right here because of you – what the hell was that for?!”

As usual, Sehun showed no interest in Luhan’s tantrum as he looked up. The kid just smirked instead. “You really are a deer. Your nose is so red.”

Luhan snorted. “Come on, what was that about, back in the house? Why was Minseok’s dad so worked up?”

“Why aren’t you wearing any jacket? You can die out of the cold. Maybe your brain will freeze.”

“You yourself are not wearing any jacket. Which is why I’m seriously dragging you back to my house right now. You can get sick.”

Sehun looked away. “Doesn’t matter.”

“Excuse me?” Luhan frowned. “I’m hella sure it does.”

“No, really, it does not.” Sehun looked up at him again. “Not when you were already told about how you won’t be able to live past twenty.”
