Twenty Nine
The RoommateAs a temporary escape plan, Jonghyun and Seungyeon decided it was best for her to live for the time being at her stylist's apartment while they find a way to get out of the headlines. But FNC's CEO was pesky and impatient; the moment he found out that Jonghyun still hasnt called it quits with Seungyeon, he immediately phoned him up for a lecture.
"Well, it seems you have had a change of plans, Lee Jonghyun?"
"On what, Sajangnim?" Jonghyun plays dumbfounded, undaunted by his boss' fuming annoyance to him.
"On how you were supposed to break up with Seungyeon-shi a week ago! Don't think that you can keep secrets from me you little brat!"
Jonghyun was silent for a moment, he didn't expect the CEO to overreact like that.
"Look kid, if you don't do it now, our stocks would come to a downfall. Think about your colleagues, will you?"
And after that almost traumatizing phonecall, Jonghyun immediately texted Seungyeon.
Penthouse. 7pm. Come alone.
Realizing how cold his text was, he sent another one.
Watch out for paparazzis. Keep safe. I love you so much.
Later that afternoon, Jonghyun made his way upstairs to his Penthouse. His phone call with their CEO had been on his mind the entire day, and he didn't know how would Seungyeon react to his decision.
"Hey." he said from the doorway.
Seungyeon got up and gave him a hug. "Oh good you're home. I just got off the phone with Soojung, and she said to meet us at ---" she noticed his sullen expression. "What's wrong?"
"I need to talk to you."
When Jonghyun said those words, everything got so quiet. Seungyeon was sitting on the couch and Jonghyun was pacing back and forth in front of the TV.
"Yeobo, what's bothering you? You have been pacing up and down for the last ten minutes. Did you get scolded? Were you seen by paps when you got here? Tell me."
But Jonghyun kept pacing without paying attention to her.
"Jonghyun-ah, you know you can tell me anything."
Jonghyun stopped and looked at her. He had never seen anyone more beautiful than Seungyeon. With her hair pulled back showing a small part of her neck drove him crazy. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. Seungyeon hopped off the coffee table and walked over to Jonghyun and took both of his hands to hers. They looked into each other's eyes for what seemed like years. That's when Jonghyun lowered his right knee to floor, looked straight up at Seungyeon and said,
"Gong Seungyeon, will you marry me?"
"Gong Seungyeon, will you marry me?"
Seungyeon stared blankly at Jonghyun. She couldn't believe he just proposed to her. She was trying to rack her mind for something to say. She thought the right words would come out but why weren't they. Meanwhile, Jonghyun was still on the floor, still looking at her eyes. He knew Seungyeon was going to say yes. They had been dating for almost a year, living together while at it, but something told Jonghyun that things weren't going to be good.
"Yeobo? Hello? Seungyeon-ah?"
"Oh, sorry. I was just..."
"Thinking of ways of how you could say no to me..."
"Anniyo! Not at all. I was just... just..." Seungyeon didn't k
