Happy New Year everyone, hope you guys have a great start to the new year :D “Hey Iseul, you know how yesterday you said you couldn’t remember anything about your parents? I might be able to help you with that.” Luhan had said during breakfast this morning which led them to where they were now. Glaring around the room in frustration. They were all sitting in the lounge, the boys having all gradually migrated into the room to watch. "You need to let your guards down. I can't help you if I can't get into your head." "How am I supposed to lower my guard if I didn't even know I had one up?" Luhan huffed in annoyance. "Okay. Obviously, this isn't working." "Oh really?" She asked, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Why don't you try and 'reach out' instead, Iseul, rather than Luhan trying to push his way in?" Suho suggested after having watched the two bicker for the last ten minutes. Luhan shot him in incredulous look. "What?" He shrugged. "It works when combining abilities. Iseul probably mimicked yours accidentally, so instead of trying to force you way in, you should let her try to open her mind to you." "How do I do that?" She asked curiously. "Think of it as pushing your consciousness out. Close your eyes and imagine it like a bubble. From there, imagine the bubble expanding outwards." Luhan explained. "You got it?" "I think so." She replied slowly, still focusing on the bubble. "Now open your eyes." They flashed open. The stormy grey eyes replaced with a vibrant purple. The boys gasped and the eyes flickered back to grey as she lost her concentration. "What's wrong?" "Your eyes—“ Luhan started. "They were purple." Suho prompted at her confused look. "Really?" "You've never seen them before?" "No, I've never had a mirror in front of me when I've used my ability. And I’ve always had my eyes closed, it makes it easier to picture things.” “Do you mind if we test something?” Suho asked. “Sure, what did you have in mind?” “Can you replicate that phone case that you had earlier?” Suho asked, after laying eyes on her new phone currently sitting on the table. The had bought her a new one since it was because of them that her old phone got broken. “Sure, gimme a minute.” She said, prepping herself. “I’m assuming you want me to do this with my eyes open?” She asked cocking her head to one side. “If it’s not too much trouble.” “Shouldn’t be. I need practise anyways.” She steadied her breathing. Letting her vision fade into the background and summoned forth the memory of the case. She remembered the feeling, the weight. The gleam of the gems embedded into the case. She could feel it. The trance that would capture her. She let it take her over. Vivid purple speared out from her pupils. The varying shades blocking out the grey as they covered her irises. For the first time, she noticed the purple haze that seemed to cover her vision. She looked down at her hands and saw the glow lining her palms and how it flared while the case was being formed. Within the flare she watched as atoms seemed to jump from her skin into the space in-between, changing until they became the desired material. She saw as they gathered together, condensing, into the shape she wished. The trance snapped. Her fingers tightening their grasp, catching the case before it fell. The boys watched as her eyes flashed from purple to grey, sudden, unlike the gradual taking over that they had witnessed before. D.O looked at the case frowning. “Do you mind if I have a look at that?” “Sure, go ahead.” Iseul replied, passing him the case. He took the case, turning it over in his hands while Baekhyun showed Iseul the pictures he’d taken of her eyes. “Okay, that totally makes up for not having a cool nickname.” She said after seeing her eyes, causing Xiumin and Jongdae to laugh in memory of their first meeting. “Was there anything different in what happened this time to last because this case is made of diamond, not plastic.” D.O asked sceptically. “Oh sh*t! Actually? That’s so cool!” Iseul exclaimed, grin spreading over her face as she took the case back. "Maybe it's because this time I could actually see what was happening? It might have allowed me to work on a more elemental level and create something more natural." "Hmm… Well, it's definitely interesting." Kris said. "I agree. Do you think we could test one more thing?" Suho asked. "What is it?" "You said you were also able to create and manipulate the elements of our abilities, do you mind if we test your ability to the max?” “How do you mean?” Iseul asked, brow crinkled in confusion. “Well, I can breathe underwater, Xiumin is immune to frost and Chanyeol, fire, as is Chen. So I guess it’s more of an immunity test.” “Wait wait wait. Hold up.” Chen interrupted. “Exactly how far are we talking this ‘coz I happen to love my girlfriend.” “Umm… Nothing that would cause permanent harm or death…?” Suho answered slowly. “Don’t worry Dae, I’ll be fine.” Iseul said, placing her hand comfortingly on his shoulder. “So? Who first?” “We’ll just go with the one that you’ve already mimicked so… frost?” Suho asked after thinking for a few seconds, deciding on starting with the least likely to cause serious harm. “What do you want me to do?” Xiumin asked. “Mild frost should be enough to test immunity, if she can’t feel it then she should be immune.” Suho proposed. “Sound good?” Xiumin asked Iseul. “Should be fine. You can heal me if anything goes wrong right Lay?” She asked for reassurance. “Yup, don’t worry ‘bout that. Though you should be able to heal yourself too.” He pointed out. “Oh yeah true.” She shot them a grin. “Let’s get started then.” Xiumin placed his hand on hers. “You ready?” “Hit me. Or don’t actually, I tend to dislike bruises. Not that it would matter.” She said, smiling. A few seconds passed. “Umm… Did you start?” “I think it's safe to say that you're immune.” “Really?” “Yup. Chanyeol can you come here for a sec.” The boy approached cautiously. Xiumin reached out a hand and a split second later steam started rising from their connected skin. “Shall we continue then?” Suho asked after Chanyeol sat down. He pulled water from the steam that had condensed on the ceiling and windows, creating a cube of water in front of her. “Well, this one’ll be easy I guess?” She commented with a small shrug. “Relatively, just stick your head in the water and try to breathe.” Suho stated. “Simple enough.” She said before sticking her face into the water. “She can get out of that right?” Jongdae asked after ten seconds. “Yup.” Suho replied, not sounding completely sure. After a few more seconds she resurfaced. “Okay, that is really cool.” She stated. “It’s also a really good thing to be able to do if you get caught by enemies in or around water.” Suho said. “If you're by yourself then you can get away easily and if you're with others then you can go undetected for a bit until you have the opportunity to get the drop on your enemy.” “Ah, okay, I’ll keep that in mind.” She said knowing that it would be useful one way or another. “Alright, so, Chanyeol next?” “Sure.” A ball of fire was conjured in the middle of the room. “So I just stick my hand in that right?” “Yup.” Chanyeol replied, popping the ‘P’. “Alrighty then, here’s to roasted marshmallows.” She said, plucking a marshmallow from one of the many bowls on the table. She watched once more as flames engulfed her hand. Flickering over her skin in warm waves. “Oops, burnt the marshmallow.” She said, pulling her hand from the fire and blowing out the flames in her fingers. She grabbed two biscuits from the table and sandwiched the marshmallow in-between, the burnt outer cracking open to reveal the perfect gooey insides of the marshmallow. She took a bite, relishing the taste before feeding the other half to Jongdae. “I guess last up is Chen.” Suho said. “Are you sure you’re okay doing this?” Kris asked, knowing the full extent of Jongdae’s ability “I’d do anything for her.” Jongdae said looking at Iseul, eyes alight with devotion and amusement. “And I for you, my love.” She said, caressing his cheek, mouth spreading into a grin when some of the boys groaned. "Seriously guys? We're literally asking you to potentially kill her and you have to make it mushy?" “Nah it won’t kill me.” Iseul said. “How can you be so sure? Chen’s power is one of the most volatile.” Suho asked, having been on the receiving end of said abilities. “Because of this.” She raised her hand exposing her scar to the others. Electricity sparked on her skin, the energy dancing and twirling its way around her wrist in an intricate bracelet of raw power. “Well, I guess that answers that question then.” “Oh year, did you want your spark back Dae?” Iseul asked, a small snake of whi
