Quarantine zone: Summer

Surrounded by military and some residence as the buildings deteriorate in Gwancheol-dong, Seoul. This city is also now in the state of martial law. Then Sooyoung and Yoona got out the apartment building

“The checkpoint’s still open.” Sooyoung said to Yoona and they stop their tracks

“Only got a few hours left until curfew.” Yoona commented to Sooyoung as she put both of her hands to her back pockets

“Then we better hurry up then.” Sooyoung said as she walk away and Yoona also followed Sooyoung

There are few people gossiping about the military as they by passes them and a barrier with military on the streets as they barricaded an apartment unit and 2 soldiers in gas masked pull 2 men and made them kneel to the ground. Then 5 people in line kneeling as they put their hands on their head and a soldier check their status using an “infection detector”, if it beep once it means that the person is not infected but if it beep continuously it means the otherwise. Then after the soldier check the 4th person it beep continuously and that person beg for his life but it is too late since the soldier shot his head and now he is laying lifeless in the ground. They become terrified to the soldiers as they bend down their heads. Yoona just saw this rudeness of the soldier as she remember her girlfriend that is supposed to be alive but a merciless soldier killed her. Yoona clenched her fist as it turns to white and clenched her jaws as she wanted to punch the soldier and beat the crap out. Sooyoung eyed Yoona

“Just let them, Yoong.” Sooyoung said and drag Yoona away from the scene. Yoona is angry, even it is 7 years that she lost her lover, Tiffany, she is still alive in her heart and the nightmares when her girlfriend died in front of her hunts her every night. Then they reach the checkpoint, as many soldier guarding it and an automatic gate in front of them. Sooyoung approach the soldier, she show their IDs to the soldier and the soldier check it

“What’s your business here?” the soldier asked them

“Visiting a friend.” Sooyoung said and Yoona still holding her grudges to the soldier. Yoona hate them to death, and thanks to Sooyoung is there to ease her temper in every soldier. Yoona already killed a lot of soldier but it is not enough to ease her pain for the loss of Tiffany. They are working as a black market smuggler, dealing in contraband and taking numerous de-humanizing jobs in order to survive in the new post-pandemic world.

“Alright, move on through.” Soldier respond to Sooyoung and she glanced to Yoona and give her a go-signal

“Thanks.” Sooyoung said as they walk ahead to the steel gate, then a military truck suddenly explode, Yoona and Sooyoung gasps to the sudden explosion

“Oh .” Sooyoung said and they back off to the gate and the soldier immediately closed it

“Get outta here. Go!” Soldier ordered them. Yoona and Sooyoung watch what is happening to the other side of the gate. An a series of gun shots from the other side and soldiers are replying also to the gun shots

“CLEAN IT UP!”

“FIREFLIES!!”

“IN’ SHOOT ‘EM!!”

“THEY’RE RUNNING! CALL FOR BACK!!”

The soldiers are fighting their to the Fireflies as they attack the military base.

“Yoona, come on. Let’s get outta here.” Sooyoung said to Yoona and she drag her away to the gate and run away. Then an emergency alarm is now echoing to the whole district

“ATTENTION. CHECKPOINT 5 IS NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ALL CIVILIANS MUST CLEAR THE SURROUNDING AREA IMMEDIATELY.” The announcer page throughout the entire area.

“Yoong faster.” Sooyoung running ahead and Yoona run faster to Sooyoung. And gun fires are still heard in the surroundings

“GODDAMNIT FIREFLIES” Soldier curses.

Then Yoona and Sooyoung reached the by pass building to passed through the checkpoints.

“. . . so much for the easy route. Patch yourself up.” Sooyoung said as she gave a bandage to Yoona since she is bleeds due to the explosion. Yoona patch herself and follow Sooyoung, there are currently walking to the hallway of a condominium building where they traverse the bypass to checkpoints.

“They’re gonna close all the checkpoints. We’re gonna have to go around the outside.”  Sooyoung said as she continue to walk followed by Yoona

“Outside the wall?” Yoona asked and furrowed her eyebrows, because the outside is pretty dangerous and lots of infected.

“Or we could just let Taecyeon go.” Sooyoung scoff

“hmmp. Cute.” Yoona scoff equally

“Hey Soo, You see that ?” A man asked as they walk pass through the hallway.

“I was there.” Sooyoung replied

“Hey, how’s the east tunnel looking?” Sooyoung continued

“It’s clear. I just used it. No patrols. Where you off to?”

“Gonna pay Taecyeon a visit.” Sooyoung said

“You too?” the man asked to Sooyoung as he followed them

“Who else is looking for him?” Sooyoung asked in disbelief

“Uhm, Taeyeon. She’s been asking around, trying to find him.” The man replied to Sooyoung, and she was shock that the queen of the Fireflies is also looking for this son of a and now they are wondering why.

“Taeyeon? What do the Fireflies need with Taecyeon?” Sooyoung carefully asked the man

“You think she’d tell me?” the man scoff as a reply

“Well. What did you tell her?”

“The truth. I got no idea where he’s hiding honestly.”

“Good man. Hey, you stay out of trouble alright? Military’s gonna be out in force soon.” Sooyou
