After his marriage to Hyosung and his pardon by the Galactic Council, Gunwoo had accepted his fate to simply fade into existence as the caretaker of the next generation of Angel Rulers. It didn’t hurt that he had learned many lessons and accomplished great things despite being stripped of his title. But when he hears the message that the outpost in the Vylerian Quadrant has gone silent, he knows he must find out why for himself. Changmin was stationed there, and though they haven’t seen each
From the moment of his birth, Gunwoo's fate had already been decided by others. Unwilling to shoulder the mandated responsibility of being the Angel Emperor's heir, Gunwoo flees to the still developing planet Earth, hoping to lose himself in the simpler lives of the humans that inhabit it. Follow the connected series of oneshots chronicling the lives of the young refugee Gunwoo, his cursed sister Chaerin, and their thief friend Seyong as they try to
When Gunwoo and his companions are finally captured by the Elder Patriarch and sentenced to execution, the situation looks bleak as he is led to the chopping block. Abandoned previously by their so called allies, it looks as if he's run out of time and options. But fear makes people do strange things sometimes and Gunwoo isn't the only one afraid of losing something (like his head) or someone.
By a of good fortune (or so he thinks), Seyong is freed from the prison he was awaiting the gallows in and is roped into helping Gunwoo rescue his sister, Chaerin, from a similar fate of burning at the stake. Happy to be free, he doesn't question his luck until he begins to wonder why the young woman he is carrying is accused of being a witch.
