background: 
maya was born on may 15th 1994 to a loving mother, kiyoung and sadly, an alcoholic father, hanjung. she was born in the metropolitan city of ilsan, and never left until recent years. she learned to live with it though, since her father never hit kiyoung as a result of his drunken state. within a few years, in 1999, her little brother heejun was born, and two years later brought her little sister ahra into the world. maya loved her siblings, and was always on hand to help out her mother, since their father was anything but helpful. he was pretty much  useless. despite his ways, they still managed to get on as a family. there were times when he acted like a father, but by that point, maya was no longer interested, so he gave his attention to heejun and ahra. maya would sit by herself in her room as she could hear the delighted squeals coming from the next room, as her father played with her siblings. she found herself spending much more time with her mother as a result, and developed a love of music from her. kiyoung gave maya her old guitar she played when she was younger, and maya took to it quite quickly. 

after her 16th birthday, her mother decided that enough was enough with their father, who was growing ever worse in his alcoholic condition. she told him to pack his bags and get out, and that she had filed for divorce. within a few days, the three kids watched their father go, but unsurprisingly, maya didn't really care all too much. she was more interested in looking after her little siblings, since they were the most devastated. however, within a few months of his departure from the family, they were as happy as ever. sadly, this didn't last very long. within a year, he made his way back in a drunken state, and attacked kiyoung. the children were there, and kiyoung pleaded for them to lock themselves in their room. surprisingly, he left after attacking their mother, without a touch to any of them, not even maya. heejun and ahra helped kiyoung, whilst maya called for the police. their father was arrested and held for long enough. after that, he never came back. 

maya felt like school was the only place where she could escape from what she felt when her father was around. jaejun and eunyoung knew perfectly well how bad she was feeling, and constantly provided themselves as people she could cry to or lean on in a time of need. that would be the main reason why she became so close to the two. when they were together, nothing else mattered. eunyoung was the reason why maya joined music club. eunyoung had joined first, and begged maya to join with her. having done so, she exceeded her own expectations, and fell in love with it. she wasn't afraid to get up an sing, and regularly gave little performances with her guitar for the rest of the group. some of the girls in the club told maya she had great potential, and she should audition for one of the big companies. eunyoung encouraged that idea, and had jaejun help her in boring it into maya's head. maya was willing, but wanted permission from her mother, given the recent circumstances. when she told her, kiyoung was overjoyed at the decision. maya felt a little uneasy, knowing her mother was suffering from anxiety after her father left his mark, but when they saw her so worried, heejun and ahra made her a promise, that they would take care of their mother. with that in mind, maya decided she was going to give the audition a shot.

about a year later, maya discovered that one of the smaller companies, nh media, was holding open auditions in seoul. she made no hesitation to go to seoul, and try out. of course, she wasn't going anywhere without eunyoung and jaejun. luckily, it was being held on a weekend, so they could even stay in seoul for a little longer, to either celebrate or cheer maya up. once they arrived, maya entered into her audition with little nerves. she felt confident, with the support she had behind her. she passed the audition with flying colours. she was immediately entered in as a trainee, and started working hard. however, after a year and a half of hearing nothing good from nh media, she became unhappy. surprisingly, an offer came from sm entertainment. they were planning to debut a new girl group in a few years, and wanted potentials from other companies. maya didn't question nor think about it. she switched to sm, and became happy, knowing that in a few years, maybe a year, she would actually have a chance to debut.

how you meet?: 
ahyoung and jaejun have known each other for years. they grew up together, and were classmates throughout their years as students, right up until graduation. they became friends after jaejun fell asleep in class in the 2nd grade, and ahyoung glued things to his face. when he woke up, he thought she was too pretty to be mad with. after that, they were inseparable. both had other friends but neither could be apart from the other for long.   

how you behave around each other?:
ahyoung acts as she has always done, hitting him and pulling faces at him when they pass one another, or jumping on his back to scare him, which usually ends in a bear hug. but as jaejun realises his feelings, he begins to act differently, seemingly more shy around her, and always doing things for her. their favourite thing to do together is to take photos and post them on maya's instagram, which they still do. maya loves to be cuddled by jun, even as friends, and he's not one to object. he takes care of her, almost acting as the older brother she never had, and would come by her apartment every morning treat her to coffee.
