Ed/Eddy - Her friends gave her this nickname, thinking it was funny. Eden thought it was funny herself so she let them keep calling her that. Her group members also call her this now.

TALENT: Eden's best area is her vocals. She has quite strong vocals that can reach a variety of notes, including very high ones. She sings a lot of acoustic, so her vocals are quite soft and relaxing, but she can also present a strong voice, which is why she admires SPICA's Boa. She covered a lot of English songs acoustically. Her weakest point is her dancing, as her rapping is relatively on point. It may not be excellent but she can give a decent rap piece. Her dancing however still needs work, because unlike with her voice, she wasn't born to dance. It annoys her, because she's been a trainee for a while and she tries hard to improve herself in this aspect.

MUSIC INSPIRATION: She likes a lot of English singing artists, a few favourites being Passenger and Oasis. Whilst she listens to a wide variety, people like Birdy, Christina Aguilera (for certain songs), Christina Perri, Of Monsters and Men and also girl-group SPICA have made a big impact on her life. She admires singers like Boa Kim and IU for their beautiful vocals, and gets most of her inspiration (and motivation) from them.

TRAINEE LIFE: Eden became a trainee after sending a video audition and being asked to give a formal one in person. Having started at the age of 18, she 's been a trainee for about 5 years. Her trainee life was everything she expected. Tiring, strenuous, frustrating. But completely worth it for the end result. She got on well with the other trainees, and never found herself having any issues whilst in training. She worked hard and made good friends, so there was never a dull moment.

HISTORY: Eden was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 5th 1990 to Josie Kim, her American-born mother and Kim Daejung, her Korean father. And a year later, her little sister Eunji, or Ellie, was brought into the world. They were a close, happy family living a perfect urban life. Josie would always play songs on her guitar for the girls, and started to teach Eden, who had shown interest in learning, eventually passing the guitar down to her. Nothing seemed to ever go wrong, until a few years into it, Eden found her life being turned upside down.

When she was just eight years old, Eden and Ellie's mother was involved in a serious road accident, that resulted in her being put into a medically induced coma and hooked up to a life support machine. For a year, the grief-stricken sisters held their father's hand every day and came to visit. Eden would sit by her mother and pray quietly to herself that she would wake up and be alright. After Eden passed her ninth birthday, it was only a month before they announced they were going to take her off of life support. On November 13th 1999, Eden and Ellie sat hand in hand as they waved goodbye to their mother.

After that, Eden's life pretty much spiralled. She became a very boisterous, unsettled child, and almost turned away from her family. This "phase" ended just before she entered into high school with her two best friends Yasmin and Shay, however her high school experience was none too pleasant. She started out as being bullied by the "popular" girls, which led to another spiral. In her sophomore year, she fell into the "outcast" crowd and was pushed into drinking, which became a habit. And a bad one at that. She wouldn't come home at night and wake up on some random couch in a random house god knows where from her own. Her father tried everything, but she was hard-headed then. She found herself with a lot of bad memories from that part of her life. Regrets and people she's still trying to forget.

As she entered her junior year, she realised that she had unintentionally pushed away her best friends and even her little sister away for some guys she didn't even know. Desperate, she apologised to her friends and sister, her friends being the more forgiving party. They agreed to help whilst Ellie remained angry over the fact that Eden had ignored her when she asked her to stop. Whilst in the help of her friends, she recalled her musical interest, having found her guitar again. Her friends decided to test her, to see if she was "musically gifted". Eden discovered her own voice, and developed a love for singing and song-writing, as a better way of dealing with her issues. Having already shown lots of interest in k-pop, Yasmin and Shay encouraged her to audition after graduation, which she gladly and confidently went ahead with. She was accepted a month after she had sent her audition video over and asked to come to Korea for a formal audition. So, she packed up and waved goodbye to her family and friends. Her father and sister were proud of how she had come along and excited for her, to see what she would bring to the k-pop world.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: confident, motherly, easily frustrated, private, lazy.

IN DEPTH: Eden is one of those people who is rarely found without a smile on her face. Despite what you may think, Eden has a very positive outlook on life and tries her very best not to let things get her down. She finds herself feeling more comfortable and confident on stage, because it's the place where she can express herself through her voice. When on stage, her comfortableness will make her twice as friendly towards the fans, as she'll look at people's cameras and wave for them. Off stage, she's generally one of two things; either she'll be quite mature and acting like she does have a sensible head on her shoulders. If it's not that, then it'll be her child-like side coming out to play. When this happens, she goes from 23 to 3 in a split second. Her members find the aegyo that comes from this gross, but others finding it endearing. She can be pretty naive when she's like this, which is great for the members, as she becomes susceptible to pranks. Which she hates. However in that state she's also likely to attack if someone so much as even looks at her food. When she's in the secondary state, since her childishness is usually primary, she starts to baby the other members, becoming motherly towards them. Depending on their moods, it will either annoy them or not bother them/make them laugh, but either way, Eden still does it, like it's instinctual.

Eden is somewhat of a perfectionist. Probably too much so. She doesn't like not being able to do things, hence why she hates she fact her dancing isn't improving as much as she would like. As a result, she finds herself getting easily frustrated over the slightest things and occasionally snapping at her members because of her own irritation, which doesn't always end well, as you could imagine. She feels, even though she shouldn't, that she has to be good to be liked. Eden's constant need for privacy sometimes proves to be a bit of an issue, however it's more than just in terms of 'being alone' privacy. She keeps a lot of things to herself and doesn't open up much to the group about her past, mainly because of fear of being judged. She thinks about it a lot and keeps herself awake at night, which is the main cause of her laziness. She's always the latest and the other members are always ready long before she is. However, because of this, she has almost near perfected the art of looking presentable in an hour.

FAMILY:

father / kim daejung / bank manager / 50 / kind, protective, understanding / their relationship has always been solid, and it grew even more so after her mother passed on. despite Eden's notable behaviour, he was always trying to support her and help her. they became a very tight-knit family once Eden got better, and he was so proud after she went to Korea. he's always looking out for her, as father's do, and will always be by her side to encourage and love her.

sister / kim eunji - ellie kim / university student / 22 / charming, sweet, shy / Eden and Ellie were extremely close as children, but did drift apart once over. however after that, Ellie was forgiving and now, they're still very close. Eden cares very much for Ellie, and even though she's always only been one year younger, she mothers her and protects her. Ellie, much like their father, is proud of her big sister and keeps check on her goings on in Korea via internet. Eden skypes with Ellie and their father as often as possible.

cousin / kim jongin - kai / member of exo / 20 / brusque, warm-hearted, awkward / Eden and Jongin have not spoken until she came to Korea. their father's weren't at best of terms, so nothing really came of them being family members. she's perfectly happy with being his friend, just so long as crazy fangirls don't jump in on the picture.

IDOL ACQUAINTANCES:

friend to best friend (through the story)/ eric nam / soloist / 25 / bubbly, friendly, kind / Eden met Eric not long before her debut. She managed to meet him after one of his performances and chat, after which they became friendly and he wished her luck on debut. After that, they're always very happy to see one another. They act as any good friends would, and are quite close. She likes to think of him as the elder brother she never had.

LOVE INTEREST'S NAME: Jung Taekwoon // Leo.

RELATIONSHIP: Eden followed up with VIXX as best she could, since she was a trainee as they were going through MyDol. She had been following them through the show and through debut in 2012, and up to the present year. She loves everything they do, her bias being Leo of course. At first, she was a little intimidated, but when she saw all his sweet moments, and his adorable smile, along with his angelic voice, he stole her heart without even having to say a word to her. In 2014, they meet for the first time after Bliss' debut, when they appear on a music show together, and Eden's band members, who know about this, in front of him. After the show, she is surprised by the fact that Leo approaches her and quietly asks about it, if what they said was true. When Eden admits to it, he feels a sense of interest, that he doesn't let on. He lets Eden take a picture for her Instagram, and after that, they exchanged numbers privately and kept in touch secretly. At present, Eden and Leo are quite friendly, particularly over text message, and are relatively comfortable in each other's presence if ever they appear together, despite their little secret. Eden has an almight crush on Leo, but she won't say so, as she's afraid of being rejected. Leo isn't sure of his feelings towards her yet, but eventually he will realise it, and be the one to ask her out. As friends, and even after that, Eden does not tell Leo about her past. Nobody else knows, so she keeps it from him too, in fear of judgement and disapproval.

SCENE REQUESTS: Not really sure what to put for my scenes. If her background story checks out, it can maybe be used against her? With the whole scandal situation, anti-fans could dig into her past and find old photos, which Leo and the girls see. After which, Eden stays in her room for days and won 't pick up calls. - long shot request, but going for it anyway! x3
