Are We Still One? [KRIS LEAVING EXO]

Many of you have probably heard of the rumors—which were eventually confirmed just a few days ago to be true—regarding Kris filing a lawsuit to terminate his contract with Exo's record label, SM Entertainment. Most people were surely baffled by this. Many were sad, devastated and some were angry by the news. According to Kris, his reason for wanting to leave is because of SM violating his rights which isn't a surprise.

I started to be a fan of Kpop way back in the beginning of 2013 and ever since then, I've been reading some articles about the groups SM manages and it is no secret how tough their trainings are. Members end up getting injured especially those who do most of the physical activities (break dance etc). If you could recall, Kai, Lay and even some vocals were hurt. Even Luhan got a flu, if I am not mistaken, that is. But the point is, for some reason, Kris isn't completely right and it doesn't necessarily mean that he is wrong by all means.

—I'm going to cut it short right here to write a disclaimer. I don't, by any means, intend to side on Kris or SM. My opinion would be in a way biased but it doesn't mean I condemn Kris for leaving nor SM for being so strict regarding their policies. This is just my point of view and I wrote this to inform other people, not to persuade them to believe on something I myself believe. Again, I am neutral and if somehow you are offended by this, you are welcomed to send me a private message, asking me to delete something or take the whole blog post down if that makes things comfortable for you—

Yes, Kris has the right and he always will have it. All of us do. But recently I read another blog post explaining how Kris shouldn't do it right at the moment while Exo is having one of their major activites. When Kris leaves, there's no doubt that they would lose fans. Upon the nullification of his contract, other members would be affected. He is the leader. How is Exo M supposed to go on with their activities in China? How do they promote? As five people who used to be a six-member, solid group? Aside from that, their new song OVERDOSE. He plays an important role on that. Is there actually any time for the group to make improvisation with their schedules that are hardly vacant? I am not saying that Kris has to act like a martyr for the group but my point is he should just at least take in consideration of the group's sake. He has to learn and understand not to make abrupt decisions that would lead to a pure chaos and jumbled mess. He needs to decide wisely. Furthermore, it is not that I am saying that Kris has to sacrifice himself for everything because let's face it, the world today isn't how it's supposed to be. We are selfish living things and we tend to forget others and think only of ourselves.

And, as for SM Entertainment, health is not to be sacrificed by wealth. I, we, understand that in order for your talents to be disciplined and well-enough to perform on-stage, they must practice and work hard. However, it shouldn't be getting to the point when they start to get ill just because they are supposed to be doing the best they can. They are doing the best they can. Kris is probably doing the best he can that it's no doubt that he might actually be going over your standards and exceeding way past your expectations. I could see that they work well, judging from the look of fatigue on their faces. They are humans. They get exhausted and over the time, they simply just get tired of you mistreating them. Mistreating would probably not be the best word to use, as my information might not be possibly positive. I might have misinterpreted things but then again, this is my opinion, this is mine.

The internet is a global utility. There are almost no areas not reached by it and so the news about Kris leaving would affect their group a lot. Many people would be on Kris's side and some would be on SM. They would surely get things wrong and misunderstand both sides, leading into a net-based argument. So, to make things less complicated, let us not be too aggressive and learn to understand either sides.

This is a tough time for us as well, Exotics/Exo fans/Exo Stans but let us be strong for our idols. They pretty much need all our support as they go through one of their career's obstacles. This is just the beginning.

To Exo, put up sturdy walls that would never break. Be strong and hold on, we would always be here for you guys. We love and support you.

To Kris, I don't know how to start off. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you and I didn't expect this to happen. I didn't expect you to actually want to leave. I thought it would always be "We Are One" but right now, I guess not. I understand. Sometimes there are certain challenges in our lives that we need to face alone. So, Kris, whatever your decision would be, we support you. I am not saying that it's not going to hurt because it will. But you know what would hurt us more? Seeing you or any other band member not happy anymore with what you/he is doing. Do what you want. You're still young. There are many things life has to offer you but be sure to be wise. We love you Galaxy, BenBen, Oongya-Oongya, Kris-Casso.

Forever and Always.
