Writer's Vent

Alright so I lost two subscribers and the comment income has decreased for one of my stories.

It's a story about parental abuse towards their children (and themselves, but we won't get too deep here), with a teeny tiny bit of otp shoved into the mess.

As soon as I start to gear the story away from the pairings and towards the emotional breakdown of the characters, people unsubscribe and start ignoring the good ol comment box.

YES THIS IS A HUNHAN STORY.

NO IT DOES NOT FOCUS ON HUNHAN.

YES THERE IS ROMANCE.

NO I WILL NOT AVOID LUHAN SCREAMING HIS GUTS OUT BECAUSE OF HIS FATHER.

It's not a dreamy love story that just happends to have some characters with parent issues. This is an angsty story that, if anything, is flawed by me adding my otps. When I get to Heechul's and Jessica's story, it will be the same way with slightly different situations. This is a compilation of three stories about three different kids who go through emotional stress because of their parents. In fact, only HunHan will have romance. Heechul and Hangeng are supposed to be classmates, and Jessica and Soonkyu will remain as teacher and student. No romance or .

You want fluffy HunHan, find another story. I wanted to write a fic about real life problems that many people have to go through, not the fantastic romance that this site is filled with. I'm sorry, but this is kind of making me mad, when some people only like my story for the pinches of HunHan, and not it's main purpose.

I've seen alot of this stuff too. People lost interest once you start drifting off their otp (in this case HunHan) and to the main story. I've seen alot of good authors write about friendship and ect. and it's so sad to see them with such a minimal amount of comment and subscribers. It's okay, I'll read your fic. :)

It , I know... And I complained soooo much about it as well.

I'm a er for romance-ish stories but I also love angst to. I can't say I've had any problems with this myself on my old and new account, but I've seen it happen to other stories where readers will unsubscribe if their couple didn't happen -__- I'll still read the story regardless if the couples end up together or not.

I've actually been wanting to try a story like that. That doesn't just focus on the romance or the couple, but about their life struggles and what not...okay sorry I rambled here XD I have a bad habit of going off topic.

OMF YES. I had another AFF account before and I wrote a story.
It was a story where the world was collapsing and only the rich escaped. Nukes were planted into the ground because the rich were ashamed of the polluted world and the poor had to find a way to escape.
I tagged it as 2min since there was a romance between the two, but it was mostly about them escaping and so many people complained about how there wasn't enough romance and I just sat there thinking that they had got to shut up about romance...

I'm honestly dying for a good non-romance story here on AFF.
