✭Background -

Born on February 22, 1992 in Singapore, Yi Jeong lives in a middle class family where his father is a bodyguard for importnat figures and his mother is a housewife, taking care of him mostly. Yi Jeong was born in Singapore because at the time, his father was hired for a lot of money to be a bodyguard for a government official. He lived in Singapore until the age of 10, learning to be fluent in Korean, Mandarin and English as the latter two were taught in his school. Yi Jeong's family relocated back to Seoul after that and his father became a presidential bodyguard.

At this stage, Yi Jeong discovered his passion for singing and joined a school choir, impressing a few teachers with his voice. Yi Jeong was inspired to become an idol when he saw Big Bang perform live, he wanted to be a singer like Big bang's Daesung. From the age of 15, Yi Jeong went to audition for different companies including YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Starship Entertainment and LOEN Entertainment but never got past the first round of auditions. He later became commited to training his voice under a vocal teacher, and practiced his dancing and rapping as well. When he turned 17, he auditioned for SM Entertainment and successfully passed the audition and got accepted as a trainee. Yi Jeong trained hard as trainee, wanting to improve his vocals as well as his dancing and rapping.

✭Personality -

Yi Jeong is an outgoing and fun guy, he makes friends easily and is someone you can trust. Yi Jeong developed a protective and caring nature from his father after seeing his father being commited to his job as a bodyguard and also being protective of his family. He always feel the need to step in if he's someone being bullied or being harrassed, even if that person is a stranger. He is especially protective of the members of his group. Yi Jeong has a kind nature and will offer help to those who need it, he's always looking to brighten people's days. There is almost always a smile on his face when you see him.

Yi Jeong isn't always sunshine rainbows, he does get mad when people are rude to him, he doesn't like people disrespecting him in his face or behind his back. Even when he is protecting his group members from the mean and nasty comments written about them, he feels dejected and sad whenever he sees mean comments about him. Despite being a intelligent individual, Yi Jeong tends to forget things and often has to write stuff on a piece of paper so he doesn't forget it.
